Chapter 99: Chapter 99

Lola paced to his table thinking of how to begin.

" Speak or get out," he said coldly

" Do you know how terrified she was the year she was kidnapped? She thought it was a joke. " She trailed off as Lucas opened his eyes confirming his guess. They were all prostitutes

" She defied Viola refusing to be a slut. Viola locked her up for days without food or water. It pained me when I was told. I decided to talk to her. Persuaded her for hours to accept her fate. Do you know what she said? She giggled recalling what Audrey said.

Luke was curious to know what she said so he sat properly staring at her urging her to continue

" She said I'll not be like you. You can preach however you want but I won't be like you" she mimicked

" I told her to bear with it. I advised her into it because she preferred dying to avenge herself. I promised to free her in return even if I have to die I'll keep to that promise. Believe me when I say Adrian was the only one that had her in the brothel. He became attracted to her hereby buying her body from Viola. She's not a prostitute. She has dignity. Even when we fled all thanks to her eight months later, she refuses to date another man. You're her first love. After seven years of fleeing from Viola, she was celibate saying she hasn't found a man worthy of her yet until she met you. Here you are treating her like a slut. If you won't accept her, there are plenty of of of men running after her. I just hope it's not too late for you. " She narrated as Lucas stood up facing the window

" How long did she work for Viola?

" Eight months. Only Adrian claimed her. No one else touched her. She deserved to be loved wholesomely. If you can't forgive her then fine. I'm sure she'll sulk over you for months then fall for someone else. " She added as he sighed

" You, Lola, Vanessa are like Audrey, right? Bought and sold against your will? He asked

" That's our past. She loves you so much and she's ashamed to face you. She feels you're disgusted by her. She hates herself now more than anything. Make up your mind cos we're relocating once she finds her mom. " she said picking her bag

" Forgiving her isn't the problem. Adrian is the problem. Of all the men why him? Why does it have to be him? One person that I hate sharing with. It's unimaginable. She should have told me sooner. Now I have to go against my ethics to make sure he doesn't use it against my entire family should I accept Audrey. It's a big risk and could backfire if my board members think I'm been partial. You won't understand" he said ransacking his hair

" It's up to you. I guess we'll invite you to her wedding one day" she stated facing the door

" I'm thinking about it. Keep her in check. She shouldn't love another. Give me time to think about it perhaps make adjustments. I've acted like a jerk towards her. I want to redeem myself first. " He stated Making Ava smile

" Are you telling me to stop her from going on dates? She asked spontaneously

" Something like that" he murmured not believing himself.

" No need cos she said you're the only man she wants. " She exclaimed as Luke smiled putting his hands on his sides

" Thank you for saving her life and I hope our secret is safe with you," she asked curiously waiting for an easy

" Not my business. Audrey is my concern. Just her. " He assured her turning around

" I guess that's all. Have a nice day sir Lucas" she said leaving with a bright smile.

Audrey was waiting for her outside as she recalled Roman giving her a car which was sent by him. She was about to go back when Ava came out grinning.

" Ava, where were you? She asked

" Talking to someone. Let's go. " She urged yawning

" Alright. I forgot to return the car keys" she whined as Ava pushed her forward wondering if she's daft. Lucas has the money. She should enjoy spending it. Besides he bought it himself.

" Forget it. " She started waving for a taxi since Roman dropped them off to go out with Lola.

" Maybe some other time or I could drop it with the receptionist" she smiled about to return it but Ava stopped her. She escaped her grip running to drop the keys but the receptionist refused to accept.

" See. Let's go" she stated pushing her out of the building.
