Having promised to take Vanessa to meet her friends. Audrey waited for Lucas to leave for work before her. She told Bobby she was taking Vanessa out.
He agreed and drove them to the hotel then left.
" Thank God it wasn't Genevieve," said Audrey glad Vanessa stole Bobby's heart
" You can't blame her. It's not easy to see the one you love in another one's arms" she said as Audrey was lost at the last phrase
" You lost me at the what was that again? She asked as Vanessa wondered why didn't she notice the way Genevieve care for Lucas
" Forget I said it. " She said sitting down as the waiter attended to them
" You work here? She stated gawking
" Yep. Lola and Ava are more successful than I am " she shrugged her shoulder as Lola and Ava walked in majestically
" Look at my beauties," said Audrey as Vanessa jumped to embrace them. They stayed that way for seconds before breaking the hug
" You haven't age One bit. Still skinny I can see that. Ava is still as beautiful as ever" she said engaging in another embrace
" Still the same obnoxious Vanessa," said Lola glad she made it.
" Let's sit and discuss. How? What happened? Said Vanessa surprised they made it big
" It's Audrey. Her tips from Mr. A and Lola knew lots of hideout courtesy of her past relationship with the guy that sold her" said Ava as Vanessa glanced at her proudly.
" We were able to fend off her attacks thanks to defense classes which Audrey is extremely good at. " Teased Lola as Audrey stared at her glass of wine
" I'm so happy for you girls. I almost died when she told me she killed you girls" she sniffles
" We fooled her but not for long. We're the expendables" said Ava jokingly
" What about you. How did you get out? Asked Lola sipping her latte
" A man raided the brothel looking for Viola unfortunately she traveled. so he freed us and destroyed the building. Then Bob came to help me" said Vanessa grinning at the last part
" Oh. That's so sweet and lucky you. Bob is your black knight" she speculated
" He's my boyfriend. He accepted me for who I was without questions. He's an angel" she lamented as the trio stared at her amicably
" You deserved it for those lost years" Lola commented
" Did she mark you? Asked Ava curiously
" Not really. She dealt with me saying I should wait for you girls to join me before I receive my mark" she said with so much pain visible in her eyes
Audrey touched her hands
" You're free now. Viola won't hurt you anymore not when she's hiding" she consoled tenderly
They were served a sumptuous meal that Vanessa could imagine how rich they were.
" Will you like to live with us? Audrey is living with her Mr. Right. "Asked Lola holding her hands
" I don't think that's a good idea. Bobby won't agree " she said shyly making Ava wonder who Bobby was.
" Audrey, have you met her new lover? She asked with concern the next thing they want isn't for her to be sold by a man.
" Lucas bodyguard. I mean his right-hand man" then it hit her. If bobby saved Vanessa then Lucas was there. He must have sent him.
He didn't disapprove of Vanessa staying in the house does that mean he won't hate her as well? Perhaps she could tell him about it once she has prepared herself for the worst.
" That's biblical," said Lola looking at a lost Audrey
" What's the matter, Audrey? Ava snapped her fingers at her bringing her out of her thought
" Nothing. I think Viola is the woman Lucas is searching for. He's hunting our mutual enemy' she said as realization dawned on the three of them.
" Audrey, you met him by fate. Your meeting was set by the heavens" said Ava glad she didn't listen to them
" But is it a good thing or a bad thing? She asked cos she wasn't sure whether to be happy or sad. A lot has been happening between them lately and he said he loves her then told her his allergy secret though not all. It was better than her who lied from the start.
Now that she thought about it. She has never told him a single truth. It was all lies except her name and job. She hated herself for deceiving him but how would she correct her mistakes? She can't take it back not now that he treated her with so much love and respect. Would it hurt to be selfish? She asked herself.
" Audrey, it's a thing of Joy. Viola will soon be history and we'll be free" they cheered at her words clanking glasses except for Audrey who was absent-minded thinking about him.
" This calls for celebration. Waiter more wine please" Lola announced as they all drank. Audrey drank to dispose of her hurtful thought.
The night unfolds Bobby helping Audrey into the house as she was drunk, he walked stealthily to avoid Lucas's wrath. He stepped into her room and turned on the light behold he was seated on the couch staring dead at Bobby then looked at a drunk sleepy Audrey. He ushered him to drop her on the couch. He did and left thanking his stars he didn't punch him. Vanessa was drunk too. So he hurried to get her.
Lucas stared at her for seconds before carrying her to the bed. She opened her eyes staring at him in tears.
" What's wrong? Why are you crying? He asked wiping her tears
" I just love you so much" she muttered sleeping off holding his hands. Lucas took his shoes off and carried her to the bathroom.
She was sober after a cold bath but she pretended to be drunk. He carried her to the bed joining her. He stared at her lovely face for some minutes before switching the light off.
