Chapter 333: Chapter 333

The Meditation Spell meant to stabilize the Magic Veins within his body was still working its magic as a massive amount of Magic Power was absorbed into him. This time, it wasn’t merely an extra Circuit added at the periphery; a more significant change had occurred.

Originally, within the peculiar internal Spirals, three Magic Circuits had been relatively separated. Now, due to the breakthrough and the immense pressure of the Magic Power, these three Magic Circuits were actually attracting each other. Soon after, the three Magic Circuits drew almost completely together, with only an extremely small gap separating them. This indicated they were still three distinct, albeit closely packed, entities.

As the three Magic Circuits nearly adhered, a new Magic Circuit began to rotate around their outer perimeter. The fourth Magic Circuit solidified, having almost no significant connection to the previous three. The three Magic Circuits, previously loosely connected, clearly combined after he broke through to the Second Stage. This combination allowed them to exert even more unique effects.

With the fourth Magic Circuit stabilized, Alka opened his eyes. His clothes and the surrounding bedsheets were completely soaked with his sweat. Breathing heavily, Alka focused on recovering his stamina.

Only after his stamina had fully recovered did Alka turn his thoughts to reviewing his improvements. This aligned with what he had previously learned from Julia: the First Stage consisted of 1-3 Spirals, the Second Stage 4-9 Spirals, and subsequent stages followed this pattern. Grouped in threes, when Alka broke through to the Second Stage, the First Stage’s 1-3 Spirals coalesced, becoming very closely interconnected. This allowed him to attach more powerful Spells to the group of three Spirals. Furthermore, the Magic Power capacity and recovery speed from these coalesced three Spirals were far greater than when they were dispersed.

By extension, the next significant power improvement would be at Six Spirals. At that point, he would have two groups of combined Spirals, capable of hosting two relatively powerful Spells. And upon reaching the peak of Tier Two and breaking through to the Third Stage, he would possess three groups of Spirals within his body. Extrapolating further, upon reaching the Third Stage, these nine Spirals, forming three groups, would continue to combine, eventually forming an even larger spiral structure composed of all nine Spirals as a single group. This method of advancement was simple, direct, yet sufficiently potent. It achieved a mighty, brute-force-like effect through a simple yet clever mechanism, forcibly enhancing the very essence of life. Clearly, the approach utilized the human body’s remarkable adaptability to its environment, a constitution that changes based on its surroundings. Magic Power itself inherently and profoundly influences its surroundings, including material substances and, naturally, the human body. One (the body) was easily influenced, while the other (Magic Power) easily influenced other things; their combination created this advancement system. First, one slowly cultivated weak Spirals, then accumulated them to induce a qualitative change. The greater the quantity accumulated, the more powerful the effect of this qualitative change became. This was the fundamental process of power enhancement in this world.

Alka felt the newly combined Circuits within his body, contemplating which Spells would be most effective to attach to them.

As had been mentioned before, Spells attached to Circuits could be used continuously, much like casting Magic, or activated at will. There were many types of Spells, and their effects varied based on the method of use. Take the Cross of Righteous Fire, for instance. This type of Spell had to be released through a medium. Alternatively, after achieving extreme proficiency, one could draw it in the air using Magic Power each time. Even the current Alka couldn’t guarantee completing the Spell’s inscription in under three seconds. It would take him roughly five seconds, and he had to be careful not to be harmed by the Energy released from Spells like the Cross of Righteous Fire. Using a medium for release remained the most efficient method. Drawing it in the air always involved a process and consumed a significant amount of Magic Power.

Another method was to attach it to a Circuit. Alka tried this and confirmed it. His group of Three Spirals, now a single Circuit, could indeed host the Cross of Righteous Fire. This would allow him to release it anytime with minimal Magic Power expenditure.

Spells attached to Circuits absorbed Magic Power alongside the Circuits themselves as they drew it in from the surroundings. The body had a total Magic Power capacity. Once this capacity was filled, a significant portion of any further absorbed Magic Power would disperse, while a smaller portion would be used to slowly enhance one’s intrinsic strength. This dispersed portion could then be absorbed by the attached Spell, greatly reducing the Magic Power consumed when casting it during battle.

There were also some Spells that were impossible to inscribe on-site; these were always engraved onto some form of medium for use. Therefore, the profession of Engraver was something almost any practitioner knew a thing or two about. Engravers, however, specialized in this art, mastering and possessing numerous Spells, whereas ordinary practitioners were typically only proficient with one or two familiar ones.

According to Julia, most practitioners would attach Spells offering continuous benefits to their Circuits. Examples included "Wind Speed," which could condense surrounding Wind Elements to increase movement speed. Once attached, it would continuously boost speed. Other examples were Spells with autonomous activation features. These were similar to "Spiritual Protection."

However, Alka preferred to attach more directly useful Spells to these, such as "Crystal Shield."
