The two nurses assumed their volume was low and thought Ji Baby was asleep due to the medication.

After speaking, he didn’t glance at Ji Rui even once, then helped turn the wheelchair. Le Tong, eager to leave this chaotic place with her beloved son, upon hearing Ji Baby’s request for a walk, pushed with her foot while twisting with her hand, the wheelchair made a turn, and soon, she had wheeled Ji Baby out of the ward.

Ji Rui wanted to chase after them but was pulled by CoCo on the wrist, "Rui, we need to talk."

The door to the ward slammed shut, and the silhouettes of Le Tong and Ji Baby vanished completely from Ji Rui’s view.

"There’s nothing worth discussing between us, didn’t we talk everything through already? What’s more to say?" Ji Rui darkened his face and flung CoCo’s hand away.

About the verbal marriage agreement, he had rejected her clearly multiple times.

But she persistently insisted she would wait for him.

He thought, as they both slowly aged, she’d let go, but she generally came back every few months to see him and Ji Baby. Though she never did anything overly inappropriate, each time she’d mention marriage in front of Ji Baby.

However, Ji Baby, like him, viewed her just like the daughters chasing him, never took her seriously.
