Chapter 81: Chapter 81

"Prom night?"

Erin's mother looks happy.

"Yes, you guys should come together as a couple. This is a great opportunity to show everyone that Pack Hamilton and Pack Red Moon are doing well. It could increase the share value of Hamilton Group companies again."

"Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen," Aland said.

Aland didn't care about Erin's request. He was still focused on his goal of meeting at the family dinner that day.

"I actually--"

Erin suddenly stood up. Until plates and spoons vibrate on the table. Her parents were surprised to see Erin's slightly childish and uncivilized behavior.

Not caring about politeness, Erin immediately grabbed Aland's hand and dragged the young man away from the dining table.

"I want some alone time with Aland. Please continue the conversation," Erin said.

"But, Erin!" interrupted Aland. "Stop! I have to discuss something important with your parents."

Erin didn't care. She knew that Aland deliberately designed the dinner to break their engagement. However, Erin wanted things to continue slowly. She also dragged Aland away from the banquet.

When they were far from the reach of Erin's parents, Aland suddenly stopped and shook off the girl's hand.

"Stop your childish attitude!" he snapped.

Erin lowered her head and hid her face. When she finally raised her head and looked at Aland, her lips formed a tired smile. There was a wound drawn in her eyes. Erin wasn't happy at all.

"I won't let you ruin this significant family dinner. I will not let you break our engagement, no matter what. Tomorrow you have to take me to the prom."

"This is not going well, Erin. You know that we don't love each other. We'd better get over it before we both get hurt."

Aland was about to leave the girl and return to the dining table. However, Erin screamed and threatened, so Aland stopped and couldn't go any further.

"I'm not kidding, Aland! You will regret it if you return to the dinner table this minute. I'll pass the rumor to everyone that we've made a baby."

"What?!" Aland did not believe Erin's words.

The girl swallowed hard. It was the only idea that came to mind. The idea had previously worked when she did it on Elmar. And Erin is willing to do it again for Aland if necessary.

"I beg you, just give me one chance. After tomorrow's dance, you can do whatever you want. Give me one more day."

Aland was fixated. He clenched his hands at his sides. Aland couldn't refuse the girl's request.

"Just one more time. After that, I will not tolerate it," said Aland.

Prom night really took place. The Abraham High School building was transformed into a very lively party venue. The party was purposely designed for dances and costume parties. All invited guests who attended wore luxurious, expensive clothes, and of course, masks adorned their faces.

Aland was getting ready in his apartment. He had just smoothed his tie when Erin stood in the doorway in her elegant black dress.

"Are you ready?" Erin spoiled and flaunted her beauty.

"How did you get in and come here?" he asked. "I told you I would come and pick you up."

"I was afraid you wouldn't come and get me," Erin complained. "So, I better come here."

Aland didn't want to argue. He silently noted that he would move to a new apartment with higher security. In order not to be reached and controlled by others.

Jonea just arrived at the school gate by taxi. Apparently, Biggest was also waiting there. That night, Jonea wore a simple white dress and a silver mask. She immediately dragged Biggest's hand away without further ado.

"It's like repeating the past," Jonea muttered. "Only, I came as myself."

Biggest, who looked so perfect in his black suit that night, blushed with embarrassment. He was speechless when he saw Jonea's beautiful and elegant appearance. The young man shuffled away because Jonea dragged him roughly and quickly. They rushed into the party area.

"Wait, Jonea! Why are we in such a rush? We still have plenty of time to"

"I don't have time anymore!" Jonea hissed as she continued to drag Biggest.

The young man was overjoyed. He misunderstood. Biggest interpreted Jonea's haste because the girl couldn't wait to dance with him.

After showing the prom invitation, Biggest and Jonea entered the party area. Jonea kept her head down and hid her face behind a silver mask. Jonea immediately hid behind Biggest's large body when she met students who might recognize her.

"Biggest, can you wait here?" Jonea asked hastily.

"What is it? Where are you going? The party will—"

"I'm so nervous I feel like my stomach is turning. I want to go to the toilet. Do you mind waiting here?"

"Oh, yeah. Of course. I will faithfully wait for you until you come back."

Jonea didn't have time to hear Biggest's words because she was already running ahead of the crowd. Quietly, the girl slipped. The initial goal was to go to the women's restroom, but I turned around to go to the men's restroom. She snuck in there when no one was in the men's room.

Inside the toilet, Jonea changed her appearance from an elegant and charming girl to a handsome young man. Jonea removed her wig and a pretty dress and wore a man's clothing.

Jonea also removed the makeup on her face. She washed her face and looked at her face in the mirror. She was dressed as a handsome youth and wore a silver mask.

"This way, no one will suspect or recognize me. If I get caught by security or CCTV cameras, they won't be able to identify me as Jonea."

Jonea rushed out of the men's room. When she came out, at the same time, a girl entered the women's restroom. The girl was about to say hello to Jonea because she recognized that figure. But, Jonea has disappeared.

Jonea walked quickly, almost running to reach the Abraham Foundation Director's office. She had to get in there with the critical card stolen from the cleaners.

….

Edison and Elmar were together. They tidied each other's clothes before going to the prom. They both came alone without a partner.

"Have you contacted Aland and Hunter?" Elmar asked.

"Hunter's on his way," cried Ed. "As for Aland, I can't reach him. The phone is off."

"Don't you feel that there is something strange about Aland? Lately, he's been avoiding us and seems to be hiding something. I thought this was unnatural, even though he still mourned his grandfather's death. However, this is not like Aland."

Bang!

The door to Clubroom B4 opens with a bang. Hunter stood there panting.

"Wow, you finally came. Are you alone? I thought you were coming with a girl."

Hunter was really gloomy. He had tried to persuade and invite Jonea. Hunter is so hopeful that Jonea will show up as his prom partner. But the girl seemed to dodge and continued to reject him. Even haughtily, Jonea said she wasn't interested in the prom.

"Why would I bring a girl? They are all troublesome." Hunter tried to cover up his frustration. "This is our graduation ceremony. No one else should be involved. So where's Aland? Will he be there with his fiancé?"

"All right... all right...!" exclaimed Ed. "I can't contact Aland."

Hunter is gloomy. He kept thinking about Jonea.

"Shall we go now?" cried Elmar. "I can't wait to meet the beautiful girls at the dance."

Elmar and Ed left the club room first. Hunter followed behind them. When passing by the CCTV monitors monitoring the entire situation in the school, Hunter stopped in his tracks. At first glance, he saw a figure he would never have imagined would appear there.

"Miller?"

Hunter was surprised when he saw a figure coming out of the men's room wearing a silver mask. Hunter did not recognize his face. Because that person was wearing a mask. However, those gestures and gestures made Hunter suspicious.

"Or maybe he just looks alike?" Hunter looked doubtful.

Elmar and Ed shouted impatiently for Hunter. Hunter also ignored the CCTV monitors and rushed after his two best friends.

As Hunter leaves, another CCTV camera captures the movement of a female student. The student secretly followed Jonea's departure route, which she thought had disappeared. And the girl arrived at the door of the Abraham Foundation Director's room.

….

Jonea really memorized all areas that were not recorded by CCTV. The girl safely avoided all the CCTVs and stopped in front of the Foundation Director's room. From her jacket pocket, Jonea took out a key card. She taped the card on the scanner at the door. After a loud beep, the door opened.

Jonea rushed into the director's office and closed the door again. When Jonea was inside, Ashley, who had just arrived in front of the foundation director's room, saw the door swing and close. But she didn't know who the person who had just entered was.

"How dare he come in here? What is he planning? And I've never seen that person before. He's very suspicious. But he's no stranger, either. Where, yes, have I seen him?"

Without thinking, Ashley immediately took the cell phone from her handbag. She contacted school security and reported an intruder breaking into the Abraham Foundation Director's room.

Jonea wasted no time. When she was in the director's office, Jonea immediately went to the only computer. The girl started moving the pointer and looking for all kinds of files that might be related to the Miller case that she could use as evidence.

Jonea sat in the director's chair while checking the contents of the computer. She removed the mask and placed it on the table. Without Jonea knowing it, someone secretly watched her through CCTV hidden in a cupboard. The CCTV with the red light kept flashing, recording Jonea's every activity in the director's room.

Jonea downloaded some files and stored them on a USB. The girl was only halfway through compiling and downloading the files when a loud noise came from the front hall.

"Fuck! Security officer?" Jonas panicked.

She immediately turned the computer monitor display into sleep mode. She still needs to finish downloading the files.

Jonea left the director's desk and looked for a place to hide.

Jonea heard footsteps approaching. Now, someone is trying to open the door manually. Jonea forgot her mask. She returned to the director's desk and grabbed the front.

Just as the door opened, Jonea jumped through the window and stood on the balcony.

Two security guards barged in with electric batons extended. They saw the director's room was dark, and no one was there.

"Miss, it seems that you saw wrongly?" said one of the security guards to Ashley.

"I can't be mistaken!" she shouted. "With my own eyes and head, I witnessed someone sneaking in here. This room should only be accessible to the director. But there's no way the director would have come here without you knowing, right? So I believe someone who shouldn't be here has snuck in!"

The two security guards looked at each other. When Ashley made the report, they immediately checked the CCTV footage. However, they didn't find anything suspicious at all. There was also no sign of someone breaking into the director's room.

Instead, they only saw Ashley standing in the hallway and staring at the director's office door. They saw Ashley taking her cell phone to call someone.

Ashley, who was dissatisfied and was sure of what she saw, immediately searched the entire director's room. However, she did not find anyone. Then, Ashley felt something was wrong when the wind blew the curtains. She ran to the window and checked it.

"There must be someone hiding here!" she shouted.

The two security officers were swift and alert. They asked Ashley to step back and check the windows and balcony. The window was indeed slightly open, so the wind came in and made the curtains blow hard. However, when they checked the balcony, no one was there.

"It is impossible for anyone to run away and jump from here. We're on the fourth floor, Miss Ashley."

Ashley felt humiliated. She was eventually deemed to have made a false report and caused a commotion. Ashley did not accept. She hurriedly left the director's room with an annoyed heart.

The two school security officers left the director's room after they closed the window and locked the door.

Jonea was hanging from the balcony. The strength of her trained hands can support her body weight so she doesn't fall. She even held her breath while hiding.

Feeling safe, Jonea climbed back up the balcony and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Bastard, I was locked in the balcony! How do I get back in there and get the USB?" Jonea looked panicked.

"Need help?" said someone who appeared out of nowhere.

Jonea screamed.
