Chapter 78: Chapter 78
Aland didn't realize that Jonea was watching him from somewhere. Aland focused on the guests and mourners who were still arriving. Aland had to welcome and pay respects to them, accompanied by Erin.
"Am I late?" Erin asked with a charming smile at Aland.
"No problem," Aland answered curtly.
"I didn't see Safira and your father." Erin looked around, looking for the whereabouts of Aland's sister.
"My grandfather's death was so sudden that he had no symptoms. Our funeral was held quickly. Safira is on her way here. It doesn't matter to me if she's late. It is better. I will feel guilty if the media continues to cover and expose my family."
Aland turned and looked around. The corner of his eye saw Jonea leave. The young man left Erin and was going to follow Jonea.
"Ouch, this hurts," Erin complained, causing Aland to fail to follow Jonea.
Aland returned to Erin. "What is it?"
"My stomach really hurts!" Erin exclaimed as she bent down and held her stomach.
The girl's face was also pale. Aland thought that Erin was not pretending.
Aland approached Erin and supported her shoulder. "Let's sit down for a while and rest. Did you eat something wrong today?"
Erin shook her head. "This is a symptom of the monthly cycle. That's why I came late. My stomach hurts so much, and cramps. Pain medication doesn't seem to work as well. Now I'm back in pain."
Aland looked so worried. "I'll take you to the hospital right now."
Erin shook her head and grabbed the young man's arm. "No, Aland. It's your grandpa's funeral day. You should have stayed here. I'm fine."
Erin looked at Aland with concern. The young man still showed his cold and indifferent face.
"Why don't you cry?" she asked. "You should be sad and express your emotions because you lost the grandfather you love so much."
….
Jonea was still secretly watching Erin and Aland's closeness. They looked so familiar and talked like old friends. Even though Jonea couldn't hear their conversation, from Aland and Erin's gestures, she was sure they had a special relationship.
'Stand here,' thought Jonea. 'I realized that I don't understand Aland's world. I don't understand a single word they say.'
Jonea also chose to leave. She left the funeral service area with a torn heart and unsteady steps.
Aland accompanied Erin to sit down until the girl felt better. Aland checked his cell phone and said to Erin, "Be patient; someone will come to pick you up soon."
Erin suddenly held Aland's arm. The girl looked at Aland seriously and said, "Everything is fine. Let's get back to doing our job."
Aland's expression grew colder. He glared at Erin. Aland grabbed the girl's hand back and brought his lips to Erin's ear. Aland whispered something.
"Let's talk!"
Erin turned to Aland with a face that had utterly lost its smile.
"The task you are talking about, I really mind!" hissed Aland. "Can we not go ahead with this engagement? After all, my grandfather is also dead."
Now, it was Erin's turn to bring her lips to Aland's ear. People who see them will think they are having an affair. The girl whispered back.
"Can you do something about it–stop what was destined for us?"
"I don't know if I can," said Aland. "But I'll still give it a try. You are too rash to call this fate. I prefer to call this a deal!"
Aland grinned and sneered at Erin.
"I'm sure there must be a way. We don't love each other, Erin. And this engagement was agreed upon by my family and yours when my grandfather was still alive only for business. After all, now he's dead."
Erin suddenly made a straight line on her lips. "Isn't it precisely because your grandfather has passed away that you should agree to this engagement, Aland? It's also good that we speed up the wedding. Because the shares of Hamilton's company have been decreasing daily since the news of your grandfather's death. If you cancel this engagement, then there will be no more packs willing to support and help Pack Hamilton. You should be prepared to be a bum if that happens."
Aland glared at Erin and hissed. "You're threatening me, Miss? Your parents and family can do whatever they want. Nothing to do with me. And this engagement agreement also ended with the death of my grandfather."
Erin sat back up straight in her chair and looked at Aland from head to toe.
'What an interesting young man,' thought Erin.
"Apparently, you're the type of man who believes in love. Do you think love can strengthen a faltering company, Aland? Do you think love can bring success in the future? Why don't you learn from your parents? Look at your mother, who glorifies love so much. She must end with a tragic life."
Aland was so angry and offended. He pulled Erin's hand and gripped it very tightly.
Erin was in so much pain, but she was trying hard to endure the pain and pretended that she was okay. Erin is Luna from the Red Moon Pack. This pack has been working with the Hamilton company and is the only one to accept Aland as mixed blood.
"Now, I understand what it's like to be a Hunter. He was forced to get engaged to another girl to cement his parents' business empire. I thought something like this wouldn't happen to me. Apparently, you are all the same. Do you think I'm afraid to enter the street and become a bum?"
Aland released his grip on Erin's hand. He then stood up straight and buttoned his jacket. He just left Erin alone.
Erin smiled wryly as she stared at Aland's back, walking away.
"It seems I need to be closer to you. So that you understand that love is not Everything. I could transfer to Abraham High School. It would be nice if I could see you often."

In the evening, at a nightclub owned by the Edison family.
Elmar was there, accompanied by the girls. The young man ordered quite a lot of alcohol. He sat in the VIP room accompanied by the most beautiful hostesses who worked at the club.
One of the hostess girls came and whispered to Elmar.
"What?" shrieked Elmar.
He was so shocked Elmar stood up straight and accidentally knocked several bottles of liquor so that it spilled onto the table. The girls sitting around him panicked and hysterical.
They scrambled to salvage the expensive liquor and clear the tables with whatever they could find.
"Girls, please wait for me here! I have a little need out there."
The nightclub guide girls looked disappointed. Because Elmar had always been loyal to them. Apart from that, Elmar is also an artist that they always idolize. His beautiful face fascinated them. Even without being paid, the hostesses will be willing to queue and jostle around Elmar.
In front of the club entrance, Erin was already waiting for Elmar. She came between by her personal driver.
"Erin? What are you doing here?" Elmar looked displeased that Erin showed up there without making an appointment with him first.
"Elmar, I know you are very close to Aland. Please tell me anything about Aland. I want to get to know Aland's character and personality more closely. Can you tell me?"
Elmar almost laughed at Erin's request. "You came all the way here looking for me just to ask something ridiculous like that? You think Aland will fall in love with you just because you try to learn it?"
Erin suddenly sulked. "Come on, Elmar. Tell me Everything about Aland!"
"No!" Elmar replied with his hands on his hips.
"Why?" Erin protested while pouting her lips.
After taking a deep breath, Elmar firmly said to the girl.
"First, I want to avoid getting involved in your business. If you really want to get to know Aland and want to know about his life, why don't you ask him directly? Second, don't you see?"
Elmar glared at Erin.
"I'm doing something significant here. I'm going to the point of leaving my girls just for an annoying girl like you!"
Elmar placed his forefinger on Erin's forehead and tapped the girl's head.
Erin looked irritated. She folded her arms across her chest. She tried to hold back her emotions even though Elmar treated her like trash.
Elmar and Erin's argument in front of the club attract the attention of several visitors. They started whispering and gossiping.
Erin glanced around and realized the situation could have been better. 'This could be a scandal,' thought Erin. 'Because Elmar is a public figure.'
Elmar grinned in satisfaction. He raised both hands and waved them while sneering at Erin.
"Don't bother me again, okay? Bye!"
Elmar turned around, and two hostess girls greeted him. They each clung to Elmar's arm.
Erin did not accept being treated in such a humiliating manner. She shouted at the people who were in the club.
"Why are you so mean to me, Elmar?" she shouted. "After you impregnated me, you will just go with the girls?"
Erin's scream instantly drew attention in just a matter of seconds.
Elmar stopped and closed his eyes. Anger bubbled up in his chest.
"What is that stupid girl trying to do?" Elmar hissed.
Elmar left the hostess girls again and asked them to enter the club first.
"Let me take care of this crazy woman. You guys wait for me inside, okay?"
The hostess girls gave in, leaving Elmar alone to solve the problem.
Elmar turned back to Erin. He tried to silence the girl's mouth and drag her away from the crowd. However, Erin refused and rebelled. She stood there and acted like a victim of Elmar's playboy nature.
"Fuck!" Elmar hissed. "It seems you are very talented as an actress, huh? Your acting is compelling!"
Erin did not stop there. Erin grinned secretly at Elmar for getting him into trouble. Now, Erin slapped Elmar's cheek as hard as possible.
"You are a bastard!" Erin shouted for everyone to hear. "After you impregnated me, now you ask me to kill this baby? How dare you!"
Elmar was utterly shocked. He had not expected to face quite a difficult opponent to deal with. He moved his jaw, which felt stiff from Erin's hard slap. People were looking at him with a sneer.
Elmar needs to realize that his girlfriend is also in the club. The girl just came and watched Erin's drama. The girl came closer and landed another slap on Elmar's cheek.
Slap!
"Emelda?" Elmar surprised. "How did you get here?" Elmar was really nervous and panicked when he saw his new girlfriend show up there.
"You got this girl pregnant?" Emelda pointed at Erin. "You got her pregnant but still dating me? How many girls out there have you dated and gotten pregnant with? You really are disgusting!"
Emelda just left Elmar after saying, "We broke up!"
Elmar raised both hands in exasperation. The line left him because of Erin.
When everyone had gone away, Erin giggled. She was delighted that she managed to get Elmar in trouble.
"You witch!" Elmar hissed. "What do you want?"
Erin stopped laughing and showed a severe face. She really is like a witch.
"I told you," Erin replied curtly. "I just want to know about Aland's life. Is it hard to tell me? This sort of thing shouldn't have happened if you'd cooperated. But you did deserve that slap."
***
Elmar came to school the following day with a sullen face and went straight to Club B4. Inside the club, Ed was busy with his game console, and Hunter was active with his CCTV monitor.
"She is!" cried Elmer suddenly. "What a petty witch!"
"Who?" asked Ed and Hunter together without leaving their eyes on each other's activities.
"You really want to know, or are you just talking nonsense to me?" shouted Elmar, who was so emotional.
Hunter and Edison were aghast. Their attention was wholly preoccupied with Elmar.
"You don't usually act so grumpy," Ed said. Because Elmar is famous for his flamboyant and relaxed character.
"Oath to the Moon Goddess!" cried Elmar. "If I meet Aland right now, I will ask him to break up with Erin. And I'll ask Aland to throw that girl into the most smelly garbage dump in the world."
Hunter understood the situation.
"You may not understand, El," muttered Ed. "Because you weren't born and raised in a business family like us."
Hunter confirmed Ed's words. "Political engagements and marriages are not uncommon. And now I am also stuck in the same situation. Only you can date any girl without thinking about the consequences."
Elmar relieved his emotions and sat on the sofa.
"I think Aland will be more mature and wise in making decisions. Apparently, he, too, was caught up in this annoying political engagement. I feel sorry for Jonea."
When he heard Jonea's name called, Hunter immediately flinched. Since morning, he kept looking at the CCTV monitors to look for Jonea's whereabouts at school, but he couldn't find her.
"Is he okay after the funeral?" exclaimed Edison, who had unconsciously represented all the curiosity of his friends.
"I'm willing to cut all my girls to look after and protect Jonea!" exclaimed Elmar earnestly.
Even Hunter can't stand just being silent. He exited the chair and hurriedly left club B4 to find Jonea.
"Hunter!" shouted Elmar. "Where are you going?"
"Picking up my destiny!" answered Hunter in the distance.
