Chapter 73: Chapter 73

"If Miller fails to meet the standard evaluation requirements for applying for a scholarship extension, then he must reimburse all educational expenses given to him. Suppose he is unable to pay back the tuition fees. In that case, Miller must donate to advancing science at the Abraham Research Center as a research object."

Jonea read the agreement letter containing Miller's name and his signature and stamp. The agreement is valid and consciously made by Miller.

So shocked to read the contract that Miller never told her or their parents, Jonea accidentally nudged several piles of books beside the teacher's desk to make a loud noise.

The girl panicked. She slipped the agreement into her jacket pocket, then returned the rest of the files to the cupboard. In the distance, Jonea heard the footsteps of more than one person running towards where she was.

"Fuck!" hissed Jonea. "Security will come back and check here? What should I do?"

The girl so panicked. She looked for a way to escape, but she could do nothing. Currently, Jonea is on the third floor. It was difficult for her to run through the teacher's room window. She immediately looked for a place to hide, but there was nothing she could use.

Jonea's face turned pale. "What will happen if they catch me here?" The girl's mind was perplexed. "What should I do?"

Jonea heard the sound of keys jingling and the flashlight beam flashing through the glass window. The girl immediately ducked and rolled on the floor. She crawled and hid under one of the slightly closed teacher's desks.

Click!

Open door.

Jonea covered her mouth with her hand to keep from screaming. She saw the shadows of two security guards from the werewolf race enter the staff room. Jonea peeked in and could see a pair of their eyes flashing red in the darkness. There was also a muffled moaning sound.

"There's someone here," said one of the security guards.

He gave the code to his comrades to scatter. At that time, they transformed into two jet-black wolves that were quite large.

Jonea was completely frightened and shuffled under the table. 'My life will end tonight.'

She closed her eyes and held her mouth so as not to scream in panic.

'How did they know I was here? Is that deodorizing potion not working well?'

Jonea heard the faint sound of footsteps approaching her from two different sides. The sound of wolf footsteps clicked on the cold floor. It was as if Jonea could feel their claws.

The girl reached into her trouser pocket and pulled out a silver peg. It was the only weapon of protection she had.

'Can I take them on with just this silver stake?' Jonea was really desperate at this point. Even though her martial skills were quite capable, she faced two ferocious wolves.

Jonea's nape tingled. Just a few more steps, the wolves will find her. Jonea's hands clenched tightly, gripping the silver stake. She was ready to slash at whoever attacked him first.

Bang!

The sound of the door slammed open. Jonea, ready to swing her silver stake, suddenly froze and felt a silence. There was neither the sound of the wolves moaning nor their hooves. Then the room just became bright.

'What is it?'

Instead of feeling relieved that the attack was no longer threatening, Jonea was even more terrified. She was worried that more security guards would show up there.

Jonea peeked through the gap in the table again. The two black wolves ready to surround her turned back into human figures. They wore uniforms with the logo of Abraham's subsidiary company engaged in security. The two stood in a row with an upright posture and then bowed in salute.

"Good evening, Alpha," they said.

Someone they called Alpha walked over. The figure tapped the two security guards on the shoulder and ordered them to escape.

"But Alpha, what are you doing here? We are tasked with maintaining the security of this building. You shouldn't be in the school area at night except in the dormitory area."

"I forgot to turn in my assignment this afternoon. Even though the teacher ordered me to put it on his desk. Is that a problem for you guys?"

"N-no, Alpha," the two security guards shouted nervously and scared.

"Then, why are you guys still here? Immediately go and do your work. Check and ensure safety in this school."

"How about you? We will guard and escort you."

"No need! My business will be finished soon. Are you going against my orders?"

The man's tone rose, so the two security guards finally rushed to leave the staff room.

There was silence for a few moments.

"You can come out now! This place is safe. I have driven Them away."

With fists tightly clenched and holding a silver stake behind her back, Jonea emerged from under the table where she was hiding.

"Hunter? How did you…?"

"I saw you from the CCTV footage in club B4. You sneak into the teachers' lounge. I am trying to figure out what your purpose or reason is here. But it's dangerous. They might find you and give you a severe punishment."

Some true and some lies. Hunter did see someone sneaking into the staff room via CCTV footage. However, he did not recognize the figure because Elmar had already dragged him out of the club.

They're about to go to karaoke. While in the dormitory courtyard, Hunter suddenly felt something bothering him. The youth's intuition told him that Jonea was in trouble.

At that moment, Hunter left Elmar and Ed. He rushed back to school. Hunter recalled the last CCTV footage he had seen. Hunter went to the staff room.

Luckily for Jonea, Hunter arrived at just the right time. He heard a loud crash and saw two security guards running toward the staff room.

And it just happened. Now, Hunter let Jonea out. Although the girl remained vigilant by gripping the silver stake firmly.

"I…." Jonea's words hung in the air.

"I'll take care of the CCTV footage in the school's control room. You don't need to worry."

Jonea said nervously. "I'm late collecting assignments. Because of that, I slipped silently into the staff room. I hope the teacher won't discover if I'm late collecting them."

Jonea sounded so unconvincing. But that was all that crossed her mind. She didn't expect Hunter to believe it. It was so surprising that Hunter neither disputed nor questioned the reasons Jonea gave.

"I will get you out of here safely. Are you done with your business?"

Jonea nodded hesitantly.

Hunter kept his word. He took Jonea out of the school building without the security guards noticing. They headed for the backyard connected to the school forest and ended up at the boys' dormitory.

Jonea suddenly stopped in the middle of the road, which made Hunter stop too.

"What is it?" Hunter turned around and was confused. "Is there something you forgot?"

"Why are you doing this? Help me? You could have reported my whereabouts to security."

Hunter actually showed an icy expression that night. Not as usual, who is always impulsive and possessive. This time, Hunter looked calmer and wiser.

'It's obvious, isn't it? Because I love you, Jonea.'

Hunter almost said that, but he swallowed his words again.

"Because I can't see you in trouble. However, I promise you to change my habit of bothering the other students. And I don't want you to get into trouble."

"But, nothing bothers me. Nonetheless, thank you." Jonea said softly while slightly lowering her head.

At that moment, Hunter really wanted to run and grab Jonea in his arms. He just kept silent and tried hard to restrain himself. Hunter didn't want to do anything that would make Jonea even angrier and avoided her.

"Have you been having a hard time lately?" he asked. "I came to your parents' restaurant. It says a FOR SALE sign on it." Hunter is so careful to convey his intent and purpose.

"Well, my parents sold the business." Jonea also lied even though she knew Hunter was probably aware of the situation. "Because it hasn't been going well lately."

Jonea kept her cheerful face.

"They want to focus on caring for Miller in the countryside. Because of that, my parents decided to stay in the village for a while."

"How about you?" There was a sad and regretful look in Hunter's bloodshot eyes.

"I will stay in school until my senior year. In the meantime, I might rent a cheap rooftop house.

"You can stay in the hostel!" cried Hunter. "Don't you still have the right to use the VIP dormitory facilities?"

Jonea stared in disbelief. 'How did Hunter know?'

Jonea never thought about it. She felt it should be an excellent opportunity to dig deeper into the evidence she had uncovered. Unknowingly the girl clutched her jacket pocket, which contained Miller's contract letter that she had hidden there.

"But," Jonea muttered under her breath. "It seems you misunderstood. The VIP dorm is a facility for Miller, not for me."

"You don't need to worry about that. I can manage. Elmar is the head of the house at our school. I could ask him to do anything for you."

Suddenly someone appeared from behind and hugged Jonea's shoulder. He said to Hunter, "Jonea will stay with me! You don't need to worry about it."

Jonea's eyes widened.
