Chapter 63: Chapter 63

Winter vacation is over. Jonea is going back to school for the first time. She will be going to Abraham High as herself rather than replacing Miller.

There was no happiness at all shown on Jonea's face. She felt even more apprehensive than when she first came to school as a Miller.

"What will greet me this time at school?"

Jonea became alert when she stood right in front of the school gate. The girl wore a winter uniform and a black coat covering her body. A backpack was slung over her back, and she covered her short hair with a knit cap.

"I have to walk there to see what will happen to me, right?"

With steady steps and a raging chest, Jonea stepped confidently. Her short skirt was occasionally swept by the winter wind. But, Jonea covered it with trousers on the inside. The girl's attire was slightly unusual enough to attract the attention of the other students. She also carries a baseball bat in her left hand as if ready to battle with anyone who might attack her.

Overall, Jonea doesn't look like a cute girl going to school at all. She really looked like she was about to start a fight. Her tomboyish style and sharp gaze make her stand out among female students who appear feminine with thick makeup.

The girl made it safely to the locker room. Her unfamiliar face became the center of attention, and her dress style was always looked down upon by other female students. It was obvious that they were wondering about Jonea's appearance.

"One more poor person coming to our school?" shouted a girl wearing a Gucci bandana on her head.

"Wow… well… great, huh? Gradually Abraham High School became a charity foundation to accommodate homeless people."

"Hey, look!" said another student. "Didn't you guys see the announcement in our school's chat group?"

"What is it?"

"What happened?"

They started checking each other's phones. Jonea also checked her cell phone. She is still a member of that group as Miller.

Photos of Jonea and a list of Abraham High School scholarship recipients are scattered throughout the school group. They started gossiping and saying hurtful words in response to the photo.

Jonea hung up her phone and pretended not to care. She tried not to respond to everyone's gossip behind her. Jonea busied herself and started stashing her personal belongings into the locker she just got.

A girl ventured to approach Jonea. She revealed her sour face and rude demeanor.

"Hey, Tramp! What clothes are you wearing? How disgusting!"

Jonea stared at the girl intently, then she opened her mouth and moved her fingers like claws. "Rooaar!"

The girl backed away in fear as if Jonea had come with a contagious disease. Her other friends panicked and stayed away from Jonea.

Jonea laughed at the girl's reaction.

An offended schoolgirl picked up a trash can and was about to pour its contents on Jonea's head from behind. But, Jonea dodged it in time, and she kicked the girl in the calf. She fell on the trash she had brought herself.

The commotion was inevitable. The other students got angry. Just as they were about to attack Jonea, Hunter appeared and shouted loudly.

"This girl is my lover!"

"What?!"

Everyone was taken aback and turned to Hunter. Behind Hunter are Elmar and Edison.

Hunter immediately landed Jonea's right arm on the shoulder and hugged the girl.

"As you have heard and seen! The new student at this school, Jonea Fallon, is my girlfriend."

Jonea glared at Hunter and tried to escape from the young man's arms. "What are you saying? I'm not the."

"So," Hunter continued. "Don't any of you ever dare to tease her!" Hunter roared, and everyone started recording it. "Because Jonea is my girlfriend."

Elmar, who heard that, did not accept it.

Ed held Elmar by his side. He said something to Elmar that his best friend probably wouldn't understand.

"Hunter is protecting that girl. You need great strength and power to protect the people you love."

Elmar could only try to hold back because he didn't want to cause a scene and show B4's incompatibility in front of the other students. While Ed, who stood beside Elmar, still looked gloomy, and his face was so pale. Ed hasn't really recovered from his slump after being ridiculed by Ashley.

Hunter landed a hand on the top of Jonea's head possessively. "This girl… must not be touched! You understand?"

Hunter firmly and loudly announced the announcement in front of all the students. He meant his words and warnings.

"But," Jonea protested.

Elmar immediately cut off the conversation. He stood between Jonea and Hunter to separate them.

"Oh, you guys are already dating?" whispered Elmar emphatically. "Hunter, how about we take this conversation to the club?"

Elmar drags Hunter away from the locker room. They left Jonea there alone.

As B4 had left and the lockers had quieted down again, footsteps echoed across the hall floor. All the students who had previously been surprised to hear Hunter's announcement now turned to the figure who had just arrived.

They saw Ashley swaggering towards Jonea. Ashley is surrounded by four girls who are known as school bullies. Ashley came with a haughty look and puffed out her chest. Her fists were clenched and ready to attack Jonea.

Crash!

A student fell and hit a locker. She spilled all the things she was carrying. The commotion attracted attention, causing Ashley to stop bullying Jonea.

"You feel great just for dating Hunter Abraham? We'll see. How long can you last in this school?"

After saying the threat, Ashley and her friends left the locker room. Jonea could only heave a sigh of relief. She leaned against the locker behind her.

"I don't want to make a fuss on the first day of school. It feels like going to hell!"

Someone crouched, groping the floor because his glasses were missing. No one wants to help him. Instead, the other students who noticed Jonea and Ashley's fight passed by the student and trampled the scattered books.

Jonea pity to see it. He also helped pick up books that other students had stepped on and cleaned them up. He handed the reader back to its owner.

"Axel?" rebuked Jonea without thinking.

Axel, who lost his glasses, received a book from Jonea's hand and was amazed. "Excuse me, do I know you? How do you know my name? I can't see you without glasses."

"Ah, that!" Jonea saw Axel's glasses and handed them over.

Axel stood up after putting on his glasses, and he gaped. "Miller?"

"No!" cried Jonea. "I… Jonea." She held out her hand. "I mean, Jonea Fallon. I'm Miller's sister."

Axel's face, which was previously defensive and seemed to be keeping a distance, suddenly became cheerful. He closed his eyes and lips.

"Wow, no wonder you look so much like him. Where's Miller? I last saw him before winter break. He also didn't come to the fair." Axel looked gloomy. "I heard he's taking time off. Did something happen?"

"Uh, no!" cried Jonea. "He just needs some therapy. He'll be back soon. And about the exhibition… he really apologized to you."

Axel looked so happy to welcome Jonea, but he quickly kept his distance from the girl while glancing around.

"Sorry, Jonea. I want to avoid getting into trouble with the other students here. It's not that I don't want to talk to you. But, if you need a place to talk, you can come to the art club. That is if you don't mind."

Axel hurriedly left with his books. Jonea watched the young man and felt guilty that she had not gone to his invitation to the art exhibition last time.

"I should pay a visit to the art club room. I also left some of my unfinished paintings there. I don't think there are any students at this hour."

On the first day of school, Jonea decided to skip class. She wanted to go to the art club room behind the school building. She also missed Maxim–Hunter's white dog.

"There are many things I miss in just a few weeks of leaving this school. This school feels like home to me. Even though they never gave me a nice welcome."

Jonea went around the school when the other students had entered their respective classes. She also came to the east tower, where she first met Aland. However, the youth was not there. Jonea was a little disappointed because that day, she had not seen Aland anywhere.

The girl continued walking, and for some reason, she suddenly arrived at the gym. The gym was completely empty, especially the pool section. No student wants to swim in the cold season.

"Where is he? Doesn't he come to school?" muttered Jonea.

The girl left the swimming pool and passed through the corridor connected to the locker room. Someone grabbed her from behind and led Jonea into a quiet room.

"You missed me, Miss?"

Jonea beamed when she found Aland there. She's so happy. But Aland suddenly became rude to her. He gripped Jonea's arm tightly until the girl whimpered in pain.

"Why?" she asked.

"You still pretend not to know what you did wrong?" Aland squinted and looked closely at Jonea.
