Chapter 61: Chapter 61

Suzanne rolled her eyes in disbelief. She glared slightly at her only son.

"Should I believe that? Of the many Lunas, I've introduced to you, none of them you consider a lover. And now, this girl?"

"Yeah, Mam," Elmar said firmly. "I love this girl. And I will make her my mate," said Elmar without taking his arms off Jonea. He wrapped his right arm from behind under the girl's chin.

Jonea, who heard that, could only glare. She tried to escape from Elmar's embrace, but Elmar locked her tighter.

"I thought you wouldn't make a stupid mistake like your dad, Elmar," said Suzanne in a lower voice. Then she closed the limousine door and asked the driver to take her from the police station.

Suzanne Davine leaned back on the leather stool and closed her eyes tiredly.

The driver spoke into the intercom. "Are we going back to the hospital, madam?"

"No, Ben! That I returned home. My son has made a very reckless decision. I have to fix it soon."

"Okay, Ma'am."

The atmosphere in the limousine was calm again. Suzanne closed her eyes again and massaged her throbbing temples. Her body felt cold. She has been battling alcohol addiction for a long time due to depression and disappointment at being betrayed by her ex-husband. All these bad experiences made her fall so severely that she had to leave the entertainment stage forever.

"Elmar is so innocent. He is as stupid as his father. Why did he have to choose girls from the human race when he could choose many of the best Lunas from the werewolf race out there? If he chose that girl, he would only make his life worse. I have to do something before the people who have always looked down on us hurt Elmar even more. I can't allow it."

"You've gone too far, Elmar!" Jonea exclaimed as she broke away from Elmar's embrace.

The young man looked disappointed. He looked at Jonea seriously. Behind them, the sirens of several patrol cars left the police station's courtyard.

"Do I look like I'm joking, Jonea? Maybe all this time, you considered me a playboy who never took any girl seriously. But I also have feelings. I'll show you that I'm serious."

"We… how many times have we met? And you're already saying nonsense?"

Jonea got very defensive. The girl looked down and looked tired.

"I must go home. These clothes are very uncomfortable for me. These shoes are also tough for me."

"You pretend to ignore me, Jonea? I meant it when I said I wanted to make you my mate!"

“Me too, Elmar Delamo. I can't possibly be your mate because I'm only a human of the lowest race, just like what your mother said."

"No! That's not really what my mother wanted to say. She just… she's actually really proud that I chose to fight for you. It was like a flashback for her."

"Flashback?"

"My mother is a human. She is not of the werewolf race."

Jonea's mouth fell open. She covered it with her hands and couldn't believe what she heard. All this time, she thought that Suzanne Davine was Luna from the best werewolf race in her pack.

"Yes! I'm half human—hybrid," Elmar said. "So, I know how it feels to be looked down upon, belittled and sidelined. But that's not a problem for me. I'm still myself. I will fight for you, Jonea!"

Jonea backed off and chose to walk home. She rushed to the nearest bus stop. However, from behind, Elmar ran and approached the girl. Suddenly Elmar lifted Jonea's body and carried her towards the car.

"What are you doing?" she shouted. "Let go of me, Elmar! This is embarrassing!" Jonea kept screaming in Elmar's arms.

"Your feet hurt; it must be because of those uncomfortable shoes. How could I let you walk with a limp? I'll take you home."

"But you don't have to carry me either!" Jonea exclaimed with a red face. "I can walk. I can take my shoes off!" Jonea looked down shyly into Elmar's arms.

"I won't let you walk barefoot in this winter. And I love being able to hold you." The young man grinned widely.

"And I'm not happy that people are starting to notice us!" Jonea hissed as she glanced around.

Hunter was rummaging through his cupboard. He took out all the clothes that had been neatly arranged.

"Where did they put my clothes?"

Hunter was getting annoyed. He left the room and looked for the maid who was usually in charge of preparing Hunter's clothes.

When the young man had opened his mouth and was about to shout for the waiter, Hunter suddenly froze when he saw the appearance of someone in the group who was enough to steal the attention.

All the servants in the house suddenly lined up neatly and formally. They simultaneously saluted the hostess.

Mrs. Abraham came escorted by five of her personal assistants. The woman walked hurriedly to approach Hunter, who was standing still in one of the living rooms in his house.

"You've caused enough chaos, Hunter Abraham!" hissed Mrs. Abraham.

"I am not doing anything!" Hunter replied coldly.

Mrs. Abraham threw Hunter's uniform with a fast food fried chicken restaurant logo on it. She dropped the shirt at Hunter's feet, and Mrs. Abraham stepped on it with the toe of her shoe in front of all her servants.

"Are you bored with your life? You wanna have some fun? Or do you want to do business? You can do a lot of business at the company! Instead of you spending time just having fun doing useless things out there!" she said.

Hunter held his clenched fists at his sides. His jaw clenched so tightly that the veins bulged in his neck and temples. He was so hurt to see his work uniform thrown to the floor and humiliated in such a way by his mother.

"I also don't intend to keep those poor students in the school too long. The scholarship is only to defuse the chaos you previously caused. And I do not intend to let them last more than three months at school."

Hunter held back his burning eyes. Anger literally coursed through every drop of blood in his veins. Hunter also knows that fighting his mother will only cause a stronger reaction from the woman.

"From now on, limit your activities to meeting up with friends. I will send someone to warn your three friends not to involve you in useless things."

"Don't meddle in my business, ma'am!" Hunter hissed at last. "It's enough that you arranged and limited my life so far. But I won't let you bully my friends. Only those always there for me as long as you are never beside me."

Mrs. Abraham was no less fierce. She glared at Hunter and moved her jaw. She held her left hand to one of the assistants to ask for her cell phone.

"Your friends are completely useless. Look at their names appearing in the media, not with achievements but with cheap gossip. Elmar Delamo is an artist with many scandals and the son of an acute alcoholic. Edison Fuller was the son of a businessman who started his business in a black district. He's just a mafia! And Aland Hamilton. He is just a young man from a broken home family. His future is still being determined with the support of his grandfather. He would just end up being a useless rower. They simply cannot support you in terms of business and work. You must be good at choosing and sorting out who you hang out with."

Hunter exhaled roughly. He wasn't in the mood to argue with his mother.

"Prepare yourself. Tonight you must attend the dinner I have scheduled with one of the businessman's daughters. She is Luna from the famous pack. Her parents could strengthen our business empire. Make sure you show up on time!" cried Mrs. Abraham.

"I'm not coming!" replied Hunter when his mother had turned away, accompanied by her assistants.

Mrs. Abraham's steps stopped. Without turning her head, she said to Hunter.

"Try not to follow my orders. Then, I will destroy that fried chicken restaurant before your eyes!" the girl hissed.

Hunter was speechless. Tears almost spilled out of his eyes. But he didn't want to appear weak in front of his servants. He bent down to pick up the uniform of the fried chicken restaurant where he worked and took it to his room.

Hunter quickly took out his cell phone and called someone.

"I need your help!" cried Hunter. "Send someone over there and watch it for 24 hours. I won't let anyone fail at her task this time."
