Chapter 14: Chapter 14

Axel immediately ran over to Jonea when he heard the news about the fight in the student restroom. At that time, Jonea had just set foot on the steps of the men's dormitory and was about to return to her room.

"Miller, are you all right?" Axel called while pulling Jonea's shoulder.

"Ouch!" Jonea screamed in pain.

Axel immediately let go and raised both hands in front of his chest. "Excuse me. Are you hurt? I didn't mean to hurt you." Axel stood in front of Jonea. "Oh, you don't look well. Your face is so pale. You're a mess." Axel started to panic when he looked at Jonea, who was in pain.

Jonea crossed her arms over her stomach. She felt intense cramps from being punched by Biggest and his friends.

"I'm fine." Jonea tried to smile even though it looked forced. "I just need to rest a bit. Tomorrow it will recover again. Did you forget? I'm a strong man," Jonea said with a grin.

The girl started to walk away from Axel. However, Axel wanted more from the answer Jonea gave. The young man followed behind while occasionally walking ahead of Jonea to ask about Jonea's actual condition.

"What really happened? They attacked you again? Is it because of me?"

Jonea stopped while slightly bending and holding her stomach. "You're so noisy! No, this has nothing to do with you. I was just a little careless to offend and anger a senior. The fight was completely unplanned."

"I will not stop and will not feel calm before actually taking you to the hospital. Come on, come with me. I'll call a taxi," Axel said.

"Hospital?" Suddenly Jonea's eyes opened wide. "No!"

'Axel can't take me there, or my cover will be exposed.' She immediately shook her head and quickly ran towards her dorm.

"Really, I'm fine. See, I can even do push-ups really well." Jonea began to move her body. Despite the excruciating pain, she tried to endure it.

Axel gave up. "It's fine if you don't want to go to the hospital. But, at least, let's go to the medical room. The school doctor must have medicine to treat the bruises on your body."

Axel reached out slowly to touch Jonea's neck.

The girl immediately dodged and caught Axel's hand. "What would you do?"

"I... don't exist! I just wanted to check your wound."

Jonea refuses. She was afraid of being found out if Axel realized there was something different about Jonea's physique.

“Sorry, Miller. I don't mean to be presumptuous. But... your neck looks bruised. What exactly did they do to you? I'm sure this must be B4's doing! They are always together, right? They attack you from all directions."

Axel helped Jonea walk, and they went to the medical room. There is a school doctor on duty there 24 hours a day.

"It turns out that B4 is indeed a group of delinquents," muttered Axel.

"Who knows. I wonder if this is actually B4's doing. But, actually, they are not all like that."

"What do you mean, Miller? Why are you defending them after everything that happened?" Axel was a little surprised by Jonea's confession. Until he stopped walking. The two of them were in a quiet hallway leading to the medical room.

Jonea is so awkward. She just wanted to honestly express her personal opinion based on her experience.

"I guess one person is different from the other." Jonea smiled shyly.

"One person? Who do you mean?" Axel was surprised.

Jonea still needs to answer Axel's question. She walked away, leaving the young man behind. Axel also followed Jonea. When they realized they had arrived in the medical room.

Axel opened the infirmary door. They were greeted by a white room. Inside the medical room, there are three beds separated by white curtains. Several neatly arranged safes store medicines and medical equipment. However, the school doctor's desk was empty.

"Doctor Andy?" call Axel. "Is he out?" muttered Axel. "He should be here."

"That's okay. I will wait for him here. Maybe he's having dinner. I just need to lie down while waiting for him to return," said Jonea. She walked over to one of the beds and lay down on it.

"I'm sorry, Miller. I need more help. On the other hand, I have troubled you even more."

"Hey, what's wrong with you? You keep apologizing even though you did nothing wrong. Oh, yeah, thanks for the sketchbook. I really appreciate it."

"Your pictures are great. You were good at painting all this time. Why didn't you join the art club with me in the first place?"

Jonea just smiled while closing her eyes. She just wanted to lie down quietly. Her whole body felt excruciating pain. Just then, Axel's phone rang. The young man picked it up and asked Jonea for permission to step out for a while.

"This is from my mom. I'll stay, okay? I will be right back. Get some rest," Axel said as he shook his phone.

Jonea was utterly alone in the medical room. She couldn't stand the pain in her body. The girl got off the bed and walked over to the medicine cabinet. Jonea looked for anything she could use to solve the aches in her body.

The door opened, and Jonea was still busy looking for painkillers. She didn't look back.

"Oh, Axel. Are you done? Is your mom all right?" Jonea was still busy checking cupboards and looking for the medicine she needed.

Someone who had just opened the door did not answer Jonea's greeting. Jonea only heard the person's footsteps approaching and padded towards her. Someone held Jonea's wrist from the side.

"Hey, what's a girl doing in the boys' dormitory at this hour?"

Jonea was shocked half to death. She dropped the medicine she was holding and immediately looked at the person.

"Ah, girl?" she asked. "Who do you mean? I'm a male student." Jonea sounded nervous. She spoke in a slightly raised tone.

A young and handsome man in his mid-20s held Jonea's hand. The man was wearing round glasses and a white coat.

"Doctor...?" Jonea hesitated. "Please let go of my hand."

"You can't fool me, young man. Why is a girl in the boys' dorm at night? And what are you doing in my study?"

Jonea backed away in fright as she pulled her hand away. She didn't think there would be someone who would recognize her identity as a girl. Jonea swallowed hard. Her eyes widened at the young doctor.

"Doctor Andy?" Jonea asked with difficulty.

"Yes, that's my name. How do you know? What are you doing here?" The doctor brought his face closer to Jonea.

Jonea laughed awkwardly. "Doctor Andy... don't you recognize me? I'm Miller, a sophomore who lives in dorm three. How can you call me a girl?"

"Miller Fallon?" The young doctor frowned slightly and lowered his minus glasses. He watched Jonea from head to toe. "Miller Fallon," he muttered in a lower voice.

Doctor Andy shook his head. He was sure the figure he was facing was not Miller Fallon but a girl whose face only resembled Miller. When Doctor Andy was about to say to refute Jonea's confession, suddenly, the door opened, and Axel stood there.

"Oh, Doctor Andy. You're back?" Axel smiled brightly. "Miller is…"

"Axel, come on, let's get out of here!" Suddenly Jonea covered Axel's mouth and pushed the student away from the medical room.

"But you have to get treatment," Axel said, trying to get Jonea back to the medical room.

"No need!" retorted Jonea. "I'm better now. I don't need any treatment," Jonea said, glancing at the door of the medical room where Doctor Andy was standing there looking at her suspiciously.

"Are you sure you're all right?" asked Axel.

Jonea nodded and smiled to reassure her friend. "How about you? Did something happen to your family?"

Axel suddenly looked gloomy. "Yeah, tonight I have to go back home. My mom is being treated, and I have to accompany her. I can't be in the dorms very often."

Jonea tapped Axel on the shoulder. "Go home and accompany your mom. Be a dutiful son." Jonea tried to convince Axel that she would be fine alone in the dorm.

When Axel was gone, Jonea breathed a sigh of relief. That night she really could not sleep, and her body ached excruciatingly. Jonea sneaked out of the dormitory quietly. She wanted to go to the pharmacy to find pain relievers.

After buying medicine at the pharmacy, Jonea walked lazily down the sidewalk. She tried to slow down her steps to avoid rushing back to the dormitory. She wanted to linger out here. Dorm and school life really depressed her.

Jonea stopped when she saw a giant billboard at a crossroads. A female model was lined up as an ad star for a beauty product. Jonea was stunned to admire the beauty of the model.

"Ah, isn't she the girl on the magazine cover left by Aland? She is an up-and-coming model at the moment.

Jonea walked back down the sidewalk and almost arrived at the bus stop. Her steps stopped when she saw a familiar person standing at the bus stop looking at a billboard with a bright neon light.

"What are you doing here?" Jonea scolded. "Why are you kissing the billboard?"
