Chapter 40: Chapter 40

Alana and Leo's laughter came to an end as Leo's bedroom door opened wide and presented Bruce with dignity and kindness as he approached them.

"Did the oms disturb you?"

Bruce asked paused Leo while he put the device back on, so Alana was sure he was putting on her unhappy face while throwing his gaze away.

"Why did he have to appear at the wrong time?" Alana began to murmur in her heart.

"No, we're just having lunch" Leo answered, which is, of course, Alana's already able to make out with his own uncle when he came into his study, Bruce sat across alana's side and stared at her for a moment.

"I overheard you talking about your dead mother's bakery, how's it going is everything going?" Asked Bruce and for some reason every smile alana thought was so fake bothered him a little as Bruce looked at him with that smile.

"Of course it was going well, I would handle the cake shop of my dead mother-in-law so I wouldn't have to worry," Alana answered Bruce in return for the best smile he had, even though it wasn't sincere in his heart and Bruce seemed to feel it, and he laughed as he patted the palm of his hand on his thigh.

"Yes yes, I do believe it, you are reminded that the bakery was also close to success in the present era of course after Leo's mother died when yora was handling the bakery, if only yora hadn't left town maybe the bakery would have had some success by now" said Bruce, who was somehow the same in Alana's ear.

"Yes, of course, I have also listened to aunt Violet's uncle's success, as I have been fascinated with yora's work, perhaps I will find out how to put yora's cake shop to work at her hands, perhaps I will be able to learn from her" Alana said in a way she somehow felt that her face was aches because she had to force a smile through his face constantly in front of Bruce.

"Yes, you must learn from her, don't be mistaken... the om's daughter is a lot of things... and your husband really likes the things my daughter has.

"Oh, yeah, Yora's one of the most excellent women in the world," Leo said in a hesitant tone while glances at alana, he was afraid that he might say the wrong words and alana might see the skepticism of her Husband.

"I'm amazed at my uncle's daughter, if I may ask what my Husband likes about his daughter," Alana asked Bruce instead of asking Leo.

"Of course, one of them isa good cook, and all of Leo Yora's favorite dishes are perfectly cooked" Bruce replied as he looked at the dish now in front of a table that Alana hadn't had time to clean and seemed aware of it.

"Does that mean I have to learn a lot from yora then" Alana blurted out with her flat face her smile had disappeared from her face and made Bruce stare at her with his narrowed eyes.

"But I wonder why is your highly favored daughter still single, with no intention of hooking up with a man who may also have the same advantages as your daughter?" Asked Alana as she grabbed the glass before her gulped down the drink after which she put it back in her elegant style.

"Ah unfortunately yora still cannot get over the one who is still in his heart" Bruce said, looking at Leo who was only looking at Bruce with his flat face.

"Is he really the ex-fiance aunt violet said he left?" Alana pushed Bruce out of his seat.

"Looks like uncle doesn't have the authority to tell that to outsiders right Leo," Bruce says left Leo speechless.

"Well, I came here just to visit you and I found you've got company, then I'll go back to the room," Bruce said, making Leo just nod his head, always looking like such a cool presence, Bruce walked towards Leo's exit door but just a few steps back.

"Oh, don't forget about our plan tonight, "Bruce said, leaving Leo to just nod his head for a moment, he smiled after that resumed his steps, and after Alana shut her door, he looked at Leo and it seemed like Leo knew what she was going to say.

"Uncle Bruce is asking me to dinner tonight" said Leo without waiting for questions out of Alana's mouth.

"Alone?" Alana made Leo shrug his shoulders.

"He might, because he said he was just going to talk about some business we're doing right now," Leo replied, making alana nod her head, but somehow she wasn't sure of the bogus om's dinner call, Alana smelled something she would never be able to guess at.

"How about you don't go along with the proposition? "Alana made Leo stare at him with his eyebrows raised.

"So what? "Said Leo, making alana reach back for her drinking glass and gulping her water back afterward, looking at Leo

"I don't know. I just have an unpleasant feeling I'm worried." Alana answered with a Alana who was in her heart when she heard Bruce invite Leo to dinner.

"Can't I come?" Alana's question again left Leo speechless for a moment.

"I don't know if I should ask him, but maybe he can add one quota to the dinner table later" Leo said, making Alana nod her head in enthusiasm.

"Yes ask" alana replied, though she was convinced Bruce would refuse her outright, no doubt because it was a business matter no outsiders should know the cliche reason to refuse Leo's request later.

"Although I'm sure your uncle would instantly reject her," Alana responded with a momentary but still listening.

"What can I say?" Leo said, as though he didn't suspect in the least of his foresenses, Alana turned a little more toward him and looked at him with a serious face and looked at him.

"Do you believe the wife's intuition is always right" Alana made Leo stare at her and squint.

"I don't know. I didn't hear it when you said it." Leo said, with the corners of his lips raised as if mocking a line of alana's made alana pinch in disgust.

"I'm serious, but I don't know why I'm worried when he makes him go out to dinner alone," Alana blurted out Leo turning his chair and approaching alana, Alana who was still rubbing her face instantly when Leo kissed her cheek softly.

"Stop thinking badly, I'll be fine. you believe me, don't you? "Asked Leo, making Alana just breathe in long.

"Yes, you did manage to persuade me with just one kiss," Alana blurted out to make Leo just giggle at the expression of his wife.
