Chapter 932: Chapter 932

The truck drove for over an hour before finally arriving at the small town where Du Jun's home was located.

The town in Turkhan Country was quite different from those in Huaxia Country. Although this town was large in scale, the actual population living here was quite sparse.

Most of the buildings in the town were adobe houses, and surrounding the residential areas were numerous farms.

According to Du Jun, all of these farms were owned by Huaxia people.

As Du Jun put it, Huaxia people are now the best at making money in the entire world. Wherever there's an opportunity for business, you'll find Huaxia people.

Du Jun drove his truck into a large courtyard made entirely of adobe clumps.

Upon entering the courtyard, a large cornfield came into view. It wasn't harvest season yet, so the corn wasn't very tall—only about a person's height. Its lush greenery made it pleasing to the eyes and very comfortable to look at.

The truck finally stopped in front of a large adobe house.

Ding Fan got off the truck. The courtyard was impressively clean, and its corners were filled with beautiful flowers and plants.

"Old man, you're finally back! My eyelid wouldn't stop twitching ever since you left to haul fertilizer this time!" At this moment, a middle-aged woman came out of the house, speaking as she walked.

"Ah, if it weren't for this benefactor stepping in, I truly might not have made it back alive this time." Du Jun smiled.

"What on earth happened?" The middle-aged woman glanced at Ding Fan before asking, clearly concerned.

Right then, Du Jun recounted simply how they encountered robbers on the road and how Ding Fan rescued him.

"Benefactor, thank goodness you stepped in to save him. Lao Du is the backbone of our family. If something happened to him, our family would surely fall apart."

As the woman said this, tears began to flow down her cheeks.

It really wasn't easy surviving abroad. When you leave your hometown behind, everyone carries their own hardships. Ding Fan could understand the woman's concerns about her husband.

"I just acted on impulse at the time. Save your thanks for someone else; it's not necessary." Ding Fan replied.

"Stop crying, now! The benefactor is here; hurry and prepare some good dishes." Du Jun urged his wife.

"Alright, alright… Right away!" The middle-aged woman wiped her tears and turned to Ding Fan. "Benefactor, please rest here for a moment while I prepare the food."

"You don't need to call me 'Benefactor' anymore. At my age, it makes me feel old. Just call me Ding Fan." Ding Fan said casually.

"Alright, alright… We'll call you Ding Fan from now on." The middle-aged woman smiled at Ding Fan before turning back into the house.

"Shu Ying, Shu Xin, your dad's back! Why haven't you come out to help yet?" Du Jun called out.

Shortly after Du Jun's shout, two young women, about twenty years old, came out of the house. Both were graceful, with delicate features and attractive figures—truly striking in appearance.

"Dad, we were feeding Mom's silkworms." One of the girls said.

Du Jun gestured to the two of them and said, "Come over here. Let me introduce you. This is Ding Fan. He's going to stay with us for a while. You two need to help look after him properly."

After hearing Du Jun's words, Shu Xin looked clearly displeased. "Dad, we're just little girls. Why do you want us to take care of a grown man?"

"Sis, it's fine. With Brother Ding Fan here, we'll just treat it like having an extra playmate." Shu Ying said cheerfully.

Shu Xin stretched lazily. "Enough, I'm going to help Mom with the fire."

With that, Shu Xin left directly.

Ding Fan quietly observed. Though the two were siblings, their personalities were starkly different. The elder sister was domineering and headstrong, while the younger sister seemed kind, gentle, and understanding.

"Brother Ding Fan, I'll take you to my dad's farm later, okay?" Shu Ying said softly, concerned that Ding Fan might feel awkward.

"Shu Ying, first help prepare a room for Ding Fan, and then have your mom bring out some of my regular clothes for him to change into," Du Jun said to Shu Ying.

Shu Ying nodded. "Alright, will do."

Shu Ying turned to Ding Fan and said, "Brother Ding Fan, let me take you to the room you'll be staying in first."

Ding Fan saw Shu Ying's eagerness and felt it would be hard to refuse her kindness, so he followed her directly. The two headed toward the west wing of the adobe house.

The west wing house was usually unoccupied and now served as the perfect space for Ding Fan to stay.

Shu Ying immediately began tidying up the west wing.

She worked swiftly and efficiently, cleaning off dust, making the bed, and sprinkling water to settle the dust.

After finishing, Shu Ying went back out, retrieved some of her father's clothes from her mother, and brought them over.

"Brother Ding Fan, I've fetched some wash water for you. After changing clothes, you can freshen up a bit. I'll go help my mom and sister now. We'll call you when it's time to eat."

After Shu Ying left the room, Ding Fan changed into the clean clothes, then used a basin to wipe off all the bloodstains from his body.

The cultivation of Gui Xing was immensely powerful. Even now, thinking about it, Ding Fan felt a chill. If not for his quick thinking and the Long Whip he threw out, he might well have been killed.

After washing up, Ding Fan took out a Foundation Building Pill from his storage ring.

He immediately swallowed the pill…

Ding Fan rested for a while in the room. After all, running wildly day and night had left him utterly exhausted…

Du Jun's wife was busy cooking.

"Wife, come here!" Du Jun entered from outside, calling to his wife.

"What do you want, can't you see I'm busy cooking?" The middle-aged woman replied.

"I have something important to discuss with you. Leave this work for the girls to handle," Du Jun said.

The middle-aged woman knew Du Jun was a straightforward man and wouldn't act this way unless it was truly important.

She turned to the two girls helping her and said, "Keep an eye on the food; I'll be right back."

"Mom, we've got this," Shu Ying reassured. The most update n0vels are published on 𝕟𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕝✶𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮✶𝓷𝓮𝓽

The middle-aged woman nodded, then followed Du Jun out of the kitchen.

Seeing this, Shu Xin quietly followed them.

"Sis, where are you going?" Shu Ying asked, curious.

"Don't ask. I'm going to eavesdrop on what they're discussing behind our backs." Shu Xin made a shushing gesture to Shu Ying.

With that, Shu Xin slipped away.

Shu Ying didn't mind, continuing to cook and manage the food.

Shu Xin followed them all the way to the edge of a field, where Du Jun finally stopped.

This made Shu Xin even more curious; she was eager to know what her parents were discussing.

"Wife, you've seen the Ding Fan I brought back, right? What do you think of him?" Du Jun asked.

The middle-aged woman's eyes brightened at Du Jun's question. "Old man, it seems we're on the same wavelength."

"Oh?" Du Jun's eyes lit up as well. "What's your thinking?"

The middle-aged woman smiled mischievously. "This young man may look delicate, but his gaze is steady and strong, and he always carries an air of composure."

Du Jun nodded. "Neither arrogant nor servile, neither frivolous nor proud… It's rare for someone his age to possess such qualities. Wife, how about making him our son-in-law?"

The middle-aged woman laughed. "To be honest, I've thought about it already. I just wasn't sure what you'd think."

Du Jun responded, "Of course I'd want Ding Fan as our son-in-law. But the real question is, what does he think?"

"Forget what he thinks for now. The issue is, we have two daughters. It's not like both can marry Ding Fan, right? Which one do you want to pair with him?"

Du Jun hesitated, genuinely finding it hard to decide.

"Shu Xin was a child we picked up off the streets when we first came to Turkhan Country. Her personality is extremely rebellious. If she truly takes a liking to Ding Fan, no one can take him away from her. But if she doesn't, it doesn't matter what anyone says; she won't budge." The middle-aged woman explained.

"What if both daughters like Ding Fan? Then what? How will they get along? Surely, we can't have a situation where two sisters sever ties over one man. And if neither of them likes him, won't that put Ding Fan in an awkward position?"

Du Jun pondered for a while before his eyes lit up. "I think I have a solution."

The middle-aged woman quickly asked, "What's your solution?"

"Here's the idea: create more opportunities for the three of them to interact. Young people need time together to see whether they're compatible, whether they like each other. We don't need to meddle with their choices. If they're meant to be, they'll naturally connect on their own," Du Jun explained.

The middle-aged woman nodded thoughtfully. "That idea might just work."

Du Jun laughed. "Then let's proceed with this plan."

At this moment, Shu Xin was hiding behind a large tree, listening to everything her parents had said.

But Shu Xin wasn't interested in the slightest and turned to leave.

To her, Ding Fan was nothing more than a wandering pauper. She had made up her mind: even if there were no men left in the world, she would never consider someone like Ding Fan.

Shu Xin returned to the kitchen.

"Sis, what did Mom and Dad say?" Shu Ying asked while preparing the food.

Shu Xin thought for a moment before answering, "They said Ding Fan is a lifesaving benefactor and that we need to take extra care of him. Basically, all their talk was about how to look after Ding Fan."

Shu Xin said this deliberately, wanting to push the burden of caring for Ding Fan onto Shu Ying.

Shu Ying didn't suspect anything and simply laughed. "Such a small matter! They really didn't need to have a secret discussion about it. Mom and Dad are so silly."

"Who knows what they're thinking?" Shu Xin replied, moving on to set the table.

Before long, Du Jun and his wife returned from outside, and the meal preparations were almost complete.

"Which of you will go and call Ding Fan for dinner?" Du Jun asked.

"I'll go!" Shu Ying eagerly volunteered, standing up and heading toward the west wing...
