Chapter 325: Chapter 325

Ding Fan had treated Ye Ningbing for a good six to seven hours before he finally walked out of her room, completely exhausted.

With the human body having the most cells and blood vessels in the head, Ye Ningbing had damaged quite a few brain vessels and cells when she attempted suicide. Naturally, Ding Fan was serious about helping her heal the injuries, bit by bit, to prevent any lingering aftereffects.

By the time he came out of Ye Ningbing's room, it was already around eight or nine o'clock in the evening.

Just as Ding Fan stepped out of Ye Ningbing's door, he was greeted by Mu Zi.

During those six to seven hours, Mu Zi had been quite helpful to Ding Fan. She assisted him and resolved many issues for him, but had to leave earlier because of some matters in her group.

"Why are you still up so late?" Perhaps out of gratitude, Ding Fan unusually greeted Mu Zi.

Although it was already late, Mu Zi didn't seem to have any plans to sleep. She wore a loose-fitting top with tight jeans below. The source of thɪs content is 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡⁂𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢⁂𝘯𝘦𝘵

This attire somewhat masked Mu Zi's heroic spirit, instead bringing out a more delicate femininity. Paired with the sunny ponytail she sported, she looked quite like a pure and sunny beautiful girl.

"Brother Fan, I've been helping you out all afternoon and I'm starving," Mu Zi said in a somewhat coquettish tone as she approached Ding Fan, hugging his arm and shaking it. By the end of her remark, she actually intended to take Ding Fan's hand to feel her stomach.

Ding Fan quickly withdrew his hand.

This Mu Zi was known as quite the little fairy; who knew what she was up to now.

"Then let's go grab something to eat."

Mu Zi's eyes lit up, seemingly waiting for Ding Fan to say just that. "Brother Fan, there's a place nearby that serves really good roasted pigeons. Shall we go try it?"

Ding Fan gave Mu Zi a look.

At that moment, Mu Zi's eyes sparkled, and her playful lips seemed to drool with anticipation, completely embodying the look of a little greedy cat.

"Alright, then let's go have some roasted squab," Ding Fan said, having no particular preference for food. As long as it filled his stomach, that was enough.

If it were really about chasing after taste, Ding Fan wouldn't go out to eat. If he just casually made something himself, it would be much better than what was available outside.

Mu Zi, visibly delighted, grabbed Ding Fan's hand, and the two of them left the military compound.

Although Mu Zi was a lighthearted girl, she was also an officer in the 3567 Unit. Combining this with her reputation as a little fairy, which had long been known throughout the military compound, the guards didn't dare to stop them even though it was past curfew time.

They left the military compound, and after a short walk, Mu Zi pulled Ding Fan into an alley.

Once inside the alley, Mu Zi led Ding Fan through several turns; he simply followed her, going along with her lead.

The moon was particularly bright that evening, a gentle breeze was blowing, and he was accompanied by a beautiful woman...

Although Ding Fan was not an ordinary man, this scene made him feel quite content.

"Mother Wang, we'll have two squabs, and also some meat skewers and vegetable skewers!"

Mu Zi finally brought Ding Fan to a street stall beneath a willow tree. Several tables were placed around, and though it was quite late, the tables were filled with people. After Ding Fan and Mu Zi sat down, the stall was packed, which indicated that the business was doing well.

Sitting there, Ding Fan was somewhat surprised. After all, Mu Zi, being a military officer and, strictly speaking, a second-generation official, usually frequented grand hotels and restaurants. Ding Fan had not expected Mu Zi to bring him here.

"It's Mu Zi... That young man looks decent. Is he your boyfriend?" At that moment, a somewhat naive-looking elderly lady approached them.

She appeared to be at least in her sixties, with white hairs at her temples. Although it was only Ding Fan's first time seeing this woman, he felt a certain affection towards her, as she seemed like a virtuous and modest woman.

"Mother Wang, he looks nice, doesn't he?" Mu Zi didn't deny anything; instead, she promptly hugged Ding Fan's arm, clearly showing off their affection.

Ding Fan, however, was quite dumbfounded. This little fairy really knew how to mess around... But Ding Fan didn't expose her, as they were in the company of a stranger. Whatever she wanted to say was fine.

"Young man, you are truly blessed. Mu Zi is the most charming and beautiful girl I have ever seen. To win her over, you must be outstanding too! But let me tell you, you must treat our Mu Zi well in the future."

Mother Wang then sternly advised Ding Fan.

Ding Fan just smiled at Mother Wang...

"Brother Fan, you really have to treat me well in the future, alright? Since I've chosen you, you must be good to me..." Mu Zi, far from backing down, puffed up her lips and looked pitifully at Ding Fan.

Seeing Mu Zi speak , Mother Wang added, "Young man, since Mu Zi has said this, if you don't treat her well, I won't let you off the hook!"

As Mu Zi and Mother Wang played off each other, Ding Fan was somewhat at a loss for words. He saw that if he didn't make some gesture soon, this little fairy might just escalate things further.

At that moment, Ding Fan firmly grasped Mu Zi's hand and covertly infused some True Qi into her body.

Mu Zi suddenly felt a surge of warmth throughout her body...

Mu Zi was no fool; she knew well that Ding Fan was warning her, and she stuck out her tongue right there and then. She dared not tease Ding Fan any further.

Mother Wang said a few more words before going off to prepare some food for Ding Fan and Mu Zi.

It wasn't long before Mother Wang brought up some food; Ding Fan tasted the roasted pigeon.

Although Ding Fan was quite picky, he had to admit that the roasted pigeon indeed showcased some culinary skill. Although it couldn't compare to his own, the flavor was quite delicious.

The meat skewers here were also very tasty.

Ding Fan and Mu Zi enjoyed their meal, and on a whim, they ordered some beer. After a few gulps of the refreshing beers, Ding Fan felt exceptionally good.

Mu Zi, halfway through her meal, was struck by a playful mood and insisted on playing a finger-guessing game with Ding Fan.

Although Ding Fan wasn't very good at the game, to keep the mood, he obliged and played a few rounds with Mu Zi. Even though Ding Fan lost more than he won, the several bottles of beer couldn't make him drunk.

The two had a great time eating skewers.

When it was time to settle the bill, Mother Wang insisted on treating them. Mu Zi didn't say much, but she quietly tucked the money under the plate.

As they were leaving, Mother Wang made several more exhortations, all about how Ding Fan should take good care of Mu Zi.

Upon returning to the guesthouse, Mu Zi went back to her room to sleep. Ding Fan was also about to return to his room, but shortly after he lay down, he heard knocking on his door.

Ding Fan was startled; it was almost midnight— who wasn't asleep at this hour?

Ding Fan extended his Divine Sense, and to his surprise, discovered that the person standing at the door was none other than Xian Shui, the woman he had rescued earlier.

Although he hadn't known Xian Shui for long, Ding Fan could tell from her behavior that she was a decent and quiet woman.

Compared to Mu Zi's constant chatter, Ding Fan found Xian Shui's company much more peaceful.

Ding Fan promptly opened the door.

"Brother Fan… I have something I want to talk to you about… Can I come in?" Xian Shui bit her lip and hesitated before speaking.

Ding Fan looked at Xian Shui; he could see she must have mustered a lot of courage to come find him.

Xian Shui nodded, then entered Ding Fan's room somewhat nervously.

"What is it? Speak," Ding Fan asked after he ushered Xian Shui to sit on the sofa.

Xian Shui hesitated, then bit her lip before asking, "Brother Fan. Do you have a girlfriend?"

It's midnight and a refined girl comes to a single man's room and asks him out of the blue if he has a girlfriend… It was somewhat too stimulating to the imagination.

"I have a wife…" Ding Fan replied, his thoughts drifting for a moment.

Ding Fan then remembered that he had just recently written a divorce letter.

"However, I suppose that means I don't anymore…"

"Why is that?" Xian Shui seemed very interested in Ding Fan's matters.

Ding Fan smiled faintly. "I couldn't provide what she needed, so perhaps leaving her was the best for her…"

"Don't you like her anymore?" Xian Shui asked.

"In my life, she was the most important person…"

Xian Shui furrowed her brows slightly. "If two people like each other, naturally they should be together, but if you still like her, why would you leave her?"

Ding Fan didn't know how to explain when faced with Xian Shui's straightforward questioning.

"Let's not talk about my wife. You came to find me so late at night for a reason?"

As soon as Ding Fan asked this, Xian Shui's face blushed.

"I grew up in a Sect… Our master taught us that men should guard their honor and women their chastity… That night… that night in the cave when I slept in your arms… I… I'm yours now…"

Ding Fan was stunned; what was this situation?!
