Chapter 83: Chapter 83

As soon as he logged in, the system notified Rong Kuo that there were two new emails from his younger sister.

Rong Kuo’s pupils almost constricted sharply, and he subconsciously glanced at the person lying on the hospital bed.

He saw that she was still lying there motionless, her face pale.

Rong Kuo was stunned for a long time before he frowned and opened the emails.

Rong Kuo’s first reaction was, could it be that Rong Qingqing had set a delayed email as a prank before something happened?

But after Rong Kuo opened the topmost new email, and read through it word by word, his face and eyes were filled with nothing but shock and disbelief.

After a long time, Rong Kuo opened the other new email, his fingertips trembling as he clicked on the attached file.

Rong Kuo took out his phone and called Zhang Rui, "A week from now, I want to hold a news conference. Tell those who can’t sit still, if anyone has objections, they can bring out all their shares. However much they take, I, Rong Kuo, will take them all. Even if the company has to crash, I’d rather have it crash in my hands! They can’t control me!"

"Mr. Rong, what’s the news conference for?" Zhang Rui asked.

"You all don’t need to know for now. You just need to guide them to the idea that I want to indefinitely delay the new product release. As long as you make them believe that as long as Rong Qingqing cannot come to the company, no new products will be released, you’ll get a raise after the conference." Rong Kuo was putting it all on the line.

He decided to trust his younger sister this once.

Also, trust her judgment in making friends.

Upon hearing about the raise, Zhang Rui laughed with joy, "Mr. Rong, don’t worry, everything’s on me!"

Rong Qingqing slept straight through to when Nanny Zhao knocked on the door for dinner.

When she opened her eyes, she was completely bewildered.

"Miss Qingqing, you’ve slept all day and missed lunch. You can’t skip dinner." Nanny Zhao was worried about Rong Qingqing’s health, so she made some light porridge for her dinner.

Rong Qingqing linked arms with Nanny Zhao, smiling as she went downstairs. Once downstairs, she glanced at Shen Jue, then quickly looked away, glanced around, and asked, "Where’s Qiaoqiao? Hasn’t she come home from school yet?"

"Qiaoqiao said she won’t come home tonight. She’s doing homework at a friend’s place, and it’ll be late, so she’ll sleep over," Nanny Zhao responded.

"Did Seventh Uncle take her there?" Rong Qingqing asked as she sat down on a chair, "She’s not having dinner at home either?"

"No, she called before school ended, didn’t let Seventh Uncle pick her up, said she’d go home with a classmate by car," Guo Lan interjected, taking over the conversation.

"It’s rare for little girls to do homework together, so I let her go. Girls her age love gathering with their friends."

Rong Qingqing twitched the corner of her mouth.

Shen Qiao was isolated at school, what friends could there possibly be.

While Nanny Zhao and Guo Lan were talking, Shen Jue was intently watching Rong Qingqing’s expression. Noticing her subtle sneer, Shen Jue realized that Rong Qingqing was thinking the same thing as him.

When he heard Shen Qiao say she was going to a classmate’s house, Shen Jue thought she was lying. So now, Shen Jue was waiting for Zhang Tan’s reply.

Thinking about Shen Qiao’s matter, Rong Qingqing just had little more than half a bowl of porridge for dinner before going upstairs.

Back in her room, Rong Qingqing immediately called Shen Qiao.

The first call went unanswered, so she called again, still no answer.

Rong Qingqing clicked her tongue in annoyance and sent a text message to Shen Qiao.
