Chapter 36: Chapter 36

Although we have not reached autumn yet, the little wind that there is generates an icy and not very hot environment, so I stick more to his body and he does not take long to put his hands on my cheeks when I feel that mine was clinging a long time ago behind her and they do not intend to release her.

I don't know exactly how long the kiss lasts, but I'm sure "short" wouldn't be the ideal word to describe it. As always, our lips fit together and follow a perfectly coordinated rhythm.

May: Do you have to go to the hospital now?

I ask, adjusting the pocket flap of the checkered shirt he's wearing.

Samuel (shakes his head): I wanted to spend the night there, but they told me it didn't make sense.

May: Do you want to see a movie or something?

Samuel: Isn't it late?

May: No. And you could use it to clear up a bit.

Samuel: Well, if you say. Go.

The silhouette of a building is drawn in the window as soon as the car stops. Even though it is at night and everything is dark, you can easily appreciate the entrance, where the reception light is kept on, illuminating that area.

I get out of the vehicle as soon as I see Samuel unbuckle his seatbelt and I remain on the sidewalk, waiting for him. Finally he comes closer and we go inside. After waiting a few minutes, the elevator doors open a second time and, although I did not see the button he pressed before, I recognize floor six by that huge black number that remains drawn on the wall.

After walking several steps through a corridor whose walls are full of closed doors, we reach the end and stop at the last one. He opens it and I perceive his surprise to see that the lights are on. He makes me come in and comes in after me.

Samuel: What are you doing awake, kid?

He says in an authoritative tone and I see who he is addressing: a teenager who would not exceed 15 or 16 years who lies on the sofa with the remote control in hand.

Samuel: Go to sleep, Joaquín. Already.

The brown-haired boy huffs and jumps down from his place, vacating it and disappearing down a small corridor from which a door slammed in a matter of seconds. I giggle.

May: You're going to be a very ... tough dad.

Samuel (laughs): I don't really imagine myself as a dad.

May: I can imagine you.

Samuel (breathes out): Well ... I have a lot of movies that I bought and I never saw so ... I don't know, I chose you.

He says pointing to the TV module and I approach her, kneeling in front of the cabinet. I choose a horror one and go back to the couch, where Samuel is already sitting.

May (I give him the album): Do you want me to make popcorn?

Samuel: If you can ...

May (laughs): I don't think it will turn out THAT bad.

Samuel: If you think we made it out alive ... I trust you.

May: What a lining you are.

He laughs again and points his finger to the left.

Samuel: The kitchen is there.

I yelped at the feel of his hands on my waist and I restrain myself from throwing the pan into the air.

Samuel: Are you missing a lot?

He exclaims and my skin twitches at the feel of his breath on my neck, but I try not to show it.

May: No, I'm almost there ...

I can't finish the sentence because he grabs my shoulder and turns me in one quick movement, capturing my lips with admirable agility. I entwine my hands around her neck, ruffling that formal hairstyle she wears. It seems to get bored quickly, as it descends to my neck, staying there for a long time in which my breathing completely transforms and I must admit that I never felt a sensation like this.

Without leaving him, I lower one of my hands to the second gas knob that I turned on just a few minutes ago and turn it, extinguishing the fire completely, or ... at least I think so. I don't know if Samuel notices that or it's just pure chance, but as soon as I do, he climbs back up to my mouth and starts walking backward, taking me with him.

This walk without seeing in a house that I do not know is not going very well, but he is in charge of guiding me, bumping us awkwardly with a table from time to time until my back hits a flat surface and for a moment it stops kiss me to open the door and close it behind us, producing a sound of keys. So I get that this is going to another level.
