Chapter 92: Chapter 92
Chapter 92 Marked and Betrayed
Bella stepped out of the bathroom and saw the note Edward had left for her on the coffee table. She picked it up, read it and a wide smile appeared on her face before she placed it back on the table. She changed into a long purple silk halter dress and then left the room. As she made her way down the corridor, she noticed two men talking in whispers, and both of them were wearing long coats.
'Hm, that's strange. It's July and it's so hot, I wonder why they're wearing such heavy clothing,' Bella muttered in her mind.
As Bella walked toward the lift, she passed the two men and overheard them talking about the free dinner served at the hotel. That was when she realized that one of them was actually a woman, leaving her even more confused about her choice of men's clothing.
Bella didn't linger too long; she was in a hurry to get to her appointment. In the note, Edward had asked her to meet him on the beach. Bella exited the hotel and when she reached the beach, she was surprised to find that Edward was the only person there.
She walked toward him and said, "Wow, it's both incredible and odd that there's no one here. Is it possible that everyone has gone for the free dinner at the hotel?"
"What free dinner?" Edward asked with a seductive smile.
"Don't you know? I just heard someone say that the hotel is offering a free dinner this evening. Maybe we should go and get some delicious food too!" Bella took his hand and said happily.
"Well, darling, I'd love to, but I want to do something more important while there's no one else here right now," Edward caught her eyes and winked. "It's a full moon," he reminded her, looking up into the night sky.
Apart from the lights of the hotel at the back, there was no other artificial light for a mile around. Only a bright moon in the dark sky cast an illuminating light, covering the entire beach with a yellowish veil. The full moon was shining very brightly, reflecting on the calm water. The surface of the water was sparkling as if countless fireflies were floating on the water.
But all the beauty paled in comparison to Bella in the moonlight. Bella glowed with ethereal light; her delicate ceramic skin seemed to blend perfectly with the moonlight. Her light blonde fell over her shoulders in a cascade of elegant curls, her slender but shapely figure enhanced by her long silk dress. Whoever saw her at that moment would have said that it was what the Moon Goddess looked like. In the moonlight, Edward finally marked Bella as his.

At the same time, Lanny had reached Honolulu International Airport. The moment she stepped off the plane, she immediately sensed something amiss. The faint scent of werewolves, numbering about four or five, came from the direction of the terminal. A little voice in her brain told her that those werewolves were definitely sent by Edward to find her.
'They betrayed me,' she couldn't help but curse her parents.
To walk to the terminal like that would undoubtedly be like shooting yourself in the foot.
She surveyed her surroundings and noticed that the plane's stewards were also disembarking and heading in another direction. From the apron to the terminal building, there was a dedicated aisle for the flight attendants in addition to the passenger aisle. As long as Lanny could trick the flight attendants into taking her out through the special tunnel, she would be able to get away from the men sent by Edward.
"Madam, I don't feel so good," she said as she grabbed a stewardess's arm beside her and put on her weakest voice, and with that, she collapsed, obviously feigning.
"Ma'am, what's wrong with you?" the stewardess knelt and stared anxiously at Lanny. Seeing that Lanny was not responding, she shouted in all directions, "Somebody, please, help! This lady right here has fainted!"
About seven or eight stewards then gathered around Lanny to see for themselves.
"Oh! She's so pale. Poor thing, who knows what she's been through?" one of them remarked.
"There's not much we can do here. Hurry up and get her to the hospital," ordered another.
Lanny's eyes were tightly closed, and her heart was already beaming with happiness. Things were going as planned, and those fools had taken the bait. A stocky male steward carried Lanny on his back and made his way to the terminal building through the steward's lane, avoiding the pack of wolves waiting for her. After the male steward and his superiors had reported the incident, the airport director sent a car to take Lanny to the hospital.
Just as she was about to be put in the car, she suddenly opened her eyes, surprising everyone and said, "Thank you, but I'm fine now. I'll go to the hospital by myself."
Before the crew could reply, they saw the frail woman who had just fainted now scampering away at a speed far beyond that of an ordinary human, taking off with a gust of wind that blew leaves from the ground. They were left wide-eyed, completely unaware of what was going on.
Lanny ran to a place she thought was relatively safe and stopped. Hawaii was so big, how was she going to find Bella and Edward? She had no clue and decided to look one place at a time.
She took a taxi from one hotel to another, going around almost the entire island of Hawaii, and eventually found the hotel where Bella and Edward were staying, as it was the only hotel that smelled of werewolves.
Lanny stood outside the hotel, contemplating her next move. Suddenly, she heard a very familiar faint sound coming from the distant beach. She concentrated on her hearing and enhanced vision and saw Bella and Edward making passionate love on the beach. Lanny's heart nearly skipped a beat, and she felt a piercing stab in her stomach. Her head ached, her body tingled, and she gritted her teeth to curb the urge to growl.
She felt betrayed to the core. Edward, her ex-husband, and Bella, her own sister, two of the people closest to her had betrayed her. Her blood boiling, she stood there and made a prayer to the moon gods. She prayed that one day the adulterous couple would get their comeuppance.
