Chapter 52: Chapter 52
Chapter 52 The Charming President
The whole morning went by. Bella interviewed ten or so candidates, but their performance could not satisfy her.
A few of them did not stand out in their resumes. A few spoke too boastfully, constantly interrupting Bella's questions, and gave their own speeches.
Still, all the candidates, without exception, were attracted to the president. Their eyes were fixed on the president, wanting to see how the flesh in the suit was sexy and charming, wanting to know what the mysterious face under the mask looked like.
Bella followed the interviewees' fascinated gaze and glanced at the president, who was wearing a shirt almost bursting with his firm muscles.
Bella shook her head and whispered, "Why can't he wear a looser shirt?"
Faced with the unconcealed admiration of the interviewees, the president also felt uncomfortable. Not wanting to waste any more time on these superficial women, he left first, leaving Bella and Jenny in charge of the rest of the interviews.
After the last interviewee left the office, Bella and Jenny exchanged glances and smiled heartily at each other.
"There's only one last candidate left, and then we can take a break." Jenny handed Bella a bottle of water.
"Thanks!" Bella sipped the water, feeling much more relaxed, "I feel like we wasted the whole morning. Those candidates drooled at the sight of the president. Now there is only one candidate left. I don't think we can recruit someone today. I guess we will have to continue the interview tomorrow. "
"I don't think so," said Jenny, staring at the resume of the last candidate, "I think this man has a good chance."
Bella heard this and gazed at the resume, asking suspiciously,
"Why do you think so?"
Jenny gave a sweet smile and said, "Because he's good-looking."
"No way, is your criteria for selecting employees based on looks?" Bella rolled her eyes.
Jenny gave Bella a deep look and snickered, "I'm not the only one in this world who chooses people by their faces. Why do you think the president chose you to be his secretary? Your resume is mediocre, and you don't have any work experience. The president would choose you as his secretary because you're pretty."
Jenny's words made Bella angry and happy. Angry because Jenny's words erased her hard work and diligence. Happy because few people had ever complimented her on her beauty.
When she was with Lanny, everyone would only compliment Lanny on her beauty and ignore her.
Bella decided to put this discussion aside for now.
She was about to meet her final interviewee of the day, Kelvin Taylor.
Kelvin Taylor was very apprehensive about the interview. He had heard that the president of Skytal was ruthless and that he had fired many employees on the spot for minor mistakes.
However, he was one of the many graduates still trying to find a position at Skytal.
Kelvin spent a whole week preparing his documents for the interview. Before leaving home for his interview at Skytal, he pulled his only black suit out of his closet.
All the rest of his clothes were colored. He polished his shoes to a spotless shine and kept his suit as neat and clean as new, without a single crease. He put a lot of hair wax on his head to ensure his hair stayed flawless in any inclement weather.
When Kelvin walked into the office where the interview was held. He was stunned that the president's office was even bigger and more luxurious than he expected.
The office wall was hung with Francis Bacon's "Portrait of George Dyer," which showed the president's excellent taste in art. Kelvin secretly sighed in admiration, and although he had not met the rumored president, he had begun to like him.
The interviewers seated in front of him were two young women. The lady sitting on the left was very beautiful, without makeup on her face, her eyes were bright, her lips were full red, and her light blonde hair shone in the sunlight.
According to her self-introduction, she was the president's secretary, named Bella. The other lady was a good-looking woman with long, curly chestnut hair that was well-kept and fell like satin over both shoulders.
Still, compared to the beauty next to her, the lady named Jenny was much more ordinary-looking.
Kelvin introduced himself for three minutes and answered the questions asked by the two interviewers. He was very satisfied with his performance, not because he was too complacent, but because the two interviewers were smiling during the interview. Especially Jenny, who was staring at him the whole time with admiration in her eyes. When he answered the questions, Jenny smiled and nodded at him from time to time.
At the end of the interview, Kelvin was ready to go home and wait for the results.
The moment he got up from his chair, Jenny said to him,
"Please wait in place for a moment while Bella and I discuss the interview, and we'll let you know the results when we're done."
Kelvin never expected the interview results to come out so quickly. He watched Bella and Jenny walk out of the office. He was alone in the large office, and he was inwardly excited.
He had never been so eager for this job as he was now.
Soon Jenny and Bella returned to the office, and Jenny walked quickly up to him, shook his hand, and congratulated him on the results of his interview for the job.
"May I ask when can you start?" Jenny asked.
"Today," Kelvin replied. He couldn't wait to meet the mysterious president.
Bella and Jenny took Kelvin to the HR department to go through the induction process. Looking at Jenny's smug look, Bella was amused.
Earlier in the day, she and Jenny had bet on whether Kelvin could meet their requirements, which Jenny had won.
In Bella's opinion, Kelvin's education was excellent. His words and actions were decent. He was good at communicating, and he didn't desire the president like others.
The only drawback was that he had just graduated from college and had no work experience, but it was not a problem if he was willing to learn.
When they were almost at the personnel department, Bella heard a familiar voice coming from the personnel office. Bella couldn't help but tense up. There was someone in the office whom she didn't want to see.
