Chapter 15: Chapter 15
Chapter 15 More Dependent
Edward got into a black Bugatti.
"Boss." the bodyguard named Andrew sat in the driving seat. He turned around and handed Edward a dragon mask.
Edward put on the mask. From the moment he put on the mask, he was no longer Edward, but the new president of Skytal.
"Go to the company," Edward said in a cold voice.
"Okay, boss."
Edward and Andrew arrived at the office. Edward gave Andrew a name list with over a hundred employees recorded.
"Here is the list of suspects. I want you to send someone to monitor what they do and report to me as soon as you find someone contacting the Garcias in private."
"Okay, boss." Andrew nodded and then walked out of the office.
A few months ago, Edward accidentally bumped into the crime of illegal gun smuggling in the Garcia family business.
Edward spent a month searching around for evidence. Just when he thought he had won the case and was on his way to the police station with the evidence, he was attacked by a pack of rouges.
When he woke up, he found himself lying in a hospital bed, and the evidence he was carrying had disappeared.
But he could not rashly fight back. He knew he was being spied on by someone close to him. Otherwise, The Garcias would not have grasped his whereabouts so easily.
A knock on the door brought him back to his senses.
"Come in."
"Boss. It's all done." Andrew said.
Edward glanced out the window. The sun had set, and the sky had turned purple-blue.
"Take me home," Edward ordered Andrew.
He missed the smell of Bella.
Only one standard lamp was on in the living room. The yellow light shone down upon the knitted carpet.
As soon as Edward came back, he saw Bella sleeping on the sofa.
She was wearing a white silk nightgown, and she was covered by a thin light-yellow blanket.
There was an open book on the ground.
Edward picked up the book and put it on the table.
The light lit up half of Bella's face. Her chest heaved gently as she breathed.
The blanket was clinging to her body, setting off her beautiful shape.
Edward held her little hand, put it close to him, and sniffed.
Her fragrance was sweet and tender, like the mixture of milk and honey. His boiling blood finally calmed down, and his cruelty and hostility disappeared.
Bella seemed to be a magical witch. When Edward was with her, he was a tender man in a wheelchair. When he was not with her, he was the fierce masked man.
He kissed her hand softly and sighed, "Bella, it seems that I can't live without you."
He couldn't live without her, so he hoped she could stay with him forever.
Edward's eyes were so possessive.
On the sofa, Bella's long eyelashes suddenly trembled a few times.
She opened her eyes and saw Edward's face in a daze.
"You're back." Bella blinked and sat up from the sofa.
Originally, she wanted to wait for Edward while reading, but she fell asleep.
She looked at the clock on the wall. It was three o'clock in the morning. She complained in a low voice, "You come back so late."
Edward looked as gentle as ever. He smiled and said, "Can't you sleep well if I don't accompany you?"
"Of course, I can. Don't think much." Bella immediately retorted excitedly, but her red ears betrayed her.
Knowing that Edward had something to do, she didn't stay in the mall for long and left.
The manager enthusiastically took her to the parking lot. If she didn't drive there, he intended to ask a driver to send her home.
She thought she would lose sleep because of the gifts in the morning and the black card that humiliated Lanny.
To her surprise, when she got home, all she thought about was Edward, and she was not in the mood to think about anyone else.
For the first time, she stayed in the house alone.
She felt angry and upset.
She was angry because Edward left her alone. Didn't he know she would worry about him?
She was upset because she was more dependent on Edward than she thought.
He always teased her, but she had a feeling of being left out when he was not with her.
Bella covered her ears and promised that she would never tell Edward about it. She didn't want him to laugh at her.
While she was lost in thought, Edward reached out and took her wrist.
"What's wrong?" Bella asked him.
Edward gently pulled her arm up.
The cuff of the nightgown was lace, so Bella's whole arm could be seen.
Edward looked at her arm and pursed his lips. His expression was so serious as if he were doing something important.
Feeling his breathing, Bella didn't dare to move, and she was hot all over.
"What are you looking at?" Bella couldn't help asking him.
Edward looked at her upper arm. The finger marks left by Lanny had turned purple.
He lowered his head and kissed the finger marks gently.
Bella heard her heart beating faster and faster. She was obsessed with him.
On a weekday morning, Bella had just finished a document when someone knocked on the door of the office.
Jenny came in and put a cup of coffee in front of Bella, "Please."
Bella pushed away the coffee, "What's the matter?"
Although she had only worked for a few days, she was very familiar with Jenny's character.
Since Jenny bought her coffee and gave it to her in person, it meant she wanted to ask her for help.
Jenny blinked and took out the document behind her back.
It turned out that she was asked to check the preparation of the conference room, but she couldn't leave, and her colleagues were busy, so she took another colleague's coffee and came to Bella who was the nearest to her.
"You just have to tick the form. There's nothing else you need to do. I'm busy, so I'll leave first." Jenny blew her a kiss and left immediately.
In this way, Bella could only do the work for her.
She took the form and went to the conference room Jenny had mentioned.
"It should be this one." Bella opened the door of the conference room.
It was dark inside. The lights were off, and the blinds were drawn.
Bella thought she might be in the wrong place.
Just as she was about to turn on the lights to confirm it, a strange sound came from the innermost small room.
Bella swallowed and withdrew her hand.
She stepped softly and walked slowly inside.
The door of the small room was transparent. Bella leaned sideways and looked inside.
