Chapter 70: Chapter 70
MEL:
A few months later:
The link between Aunt Maria and Pietro had already been broken indefinitely and the two suffered a lot from it, but they were strong when everything happened.
I know that for Aunt Maria it was still difficult to deal with Pietro's departure, she cried for days when she realized that he would not come back, which was expected, and that the best thing was to try to survive without him.
We never heard from him again in those four months, he was probably wandering around feeling the consequences of his actions.
My heart sinks at the thought of him.
I came out of my daydreams when I saw a radiant Atlas filling several blue and white balloons next to my father and anyone looking at him now can't even imagine how dangerous my male is.
We were having a last-minute baby shower, something that was decided by my ogre after he read about it on some website. The same soon convinced everyone that our puppy would have his too.
And who can contain this male?
I've never seen Atlas as ecstatic as he has been in the last few months, his eyes had a new glow, something that had appeared when he learned about my pregnancy, but which intensified when he learned Dominic's gender.
Yes, we had named our pup Dominic, a strong and impactful name as I think it will be if it pulls the father's temper.
— Don't you think you'd better sit down Mel? He's been standing up for a long time— exasperated snort when I heard him, I was standing for a few minutes and he was already asking me to sit down again, it hadn't even been five minutes since I heard the same sentence.
If before he was super protective, now he's at a hard level and I've been bursting for every little thing lately and I can't help but give a rude answer.
— If I thought it was better, I'd already be sitting down, wouldn't I?— I mutter crossing my arms in front of my body and shoving another handful of brigadier in my mouth.
These party treats are the best.
— No, because you're stubborn enough and don't realize you've been standing longer than you should— he says seriously, getting up and quickly picking me up to sit next to him on the couch.
— She's just like her mother, stubbornness is in her blood— my father jokes making my mother squint at him and throw one of the balloons at him.
— Mel is stubbornness personified and Atlas is bossy like I've never seen anyone be, I wonder what Dominic's personality will be like— Aunt Maria makes us laugh with her comment.
I automatically remember the day Dominic kicked the first time, it was so unexpected that I laugh remembering my reaction and Atlas.
"We were having one of our many little arguments, Atlas was disgusted as one of his males had made a comment saying simply that the pregnancy had given me a special glow, something which was entirely taken as a compliment to my calf by me, while that Atlas charged the boy like a bull, nay, an enraged wolf.
— He was just kind Atlas, something you should learn to be— why did I say that? His growling was loud and strong.
— Do you want me to be like another male?— and of course he had understood everything in a distorted way. He approaches slowly as if prowling his prey, which in this case was me.
— No Mel, I'm just saying you're not thinking straight, you've got it all wrong, plus I don't want you to change anything, I love you exactly the way you are, even the flaws— I say the last one softly part, but I know he had heard.
— He wanted her, he was trying to start a flirtation or did you not notice that he took your hands between his?— he growled probably remembering the scene that had been what Atlas needed to start filling his face with bruises.
Okay, the male had been pretty rough with holding my hands, but that shouldn't be a reason for a fight, should it?
— Okay, he had his share of the blame, let's not argue about something so banal— I finally say tired of the subject.
I approach putting my arms around his neck and his hands soon give impulse so that I am in his lap with my legs wrapped around his hips.
— I still think I should have killed him— he says seriously and an impulse coming from my belly, which at the time wasn't so big, makes us quickly lower our disbelieving eyes to it.
Our pup had kicked for the first time just as Atlas was talking about killing someone as if he agreed with his father.
My ogre sits on the bed with me on his lap and places both hands on my stomach waiting for the next kick expectantly.
— Come on Dominic, where are you at?— I ask with my hand next to Atlas waiting for the kick that didn't come.
— Let me take care of it— he starts stroking my belly while he gets as close as he can to it— hey big boy, Daddy gave the male who tried to touch Mommy a good beating, I believe he will never again want to look in her direction— my narrowed eyes narrow in her direction— she got mad, but you know I did the right thing, right? I need you here soon to help me teach these fucked up males a good lesson... Interfering— two kicks in a row are present and I widen my eyes realizing the obvious.
Dominic will be a true miniature Atlas."
— You're remembering the same as me, right?— he asks me softly, giving me one of those cute little smiles of his.
— We'll have work— I reply smiling back knowingly.
— Mel— appears next to us holding a box that almost covers his little face since it was considered big for his size— I brought some toys for my nephew, I'm already big enough to be blincando and it wouldn't go well if one day my partner turned pale and thought I was a girl.
We laugh at his naivety and Atlas soon helps him put that heavy box on the ground. The stick is already starting to pick up each of his toys, saying excitedly that he can't wait for Dominic to be born so they can play a lot, something that was quite contradictory to what he had said before and he knew that the reason was his many cars whose little eyes sparkled just by looking at them. Finally, he made us promise not to tell his future mate when he found her.
We spent the afternoon in a pleasant family atmosphere, with laughter and several stories, some about the Atlas that I didn't even imagine and that made me laugh out loud.
I believe that laughing a lot was not appropriate for the moment, because when we were in the middle of one of the stories, I felt a liquid run down my legs.
At first, I still considered the idea that I had peed, which was quite embarrassing, but I soon realized that it was time for my little boy to come into the world.
— The Atlas bag— I say taking a deep breath and feeling a strong pain present, the first contractions.
— Do you want me to get your purse dear? — he asks not realizing what was going on.
— Water broke Atlas— I grip the sofa I was sitting on tightly, trying to control my breathing.
I feel him paralyzed when looking at my wet legs, his face becomes desperate and he jumps up, attracting the attention of everyone who quickly realizes what was happening.
— Someone takes Dominic's bag— he starts dictating orders taking me gently in his arms— Christian you drive— he delegates leading us towards the car, I notice that his arms are shaking slightly and it's even funny a male like him my feeling nervous about something so simple, while for much worse things he is so firm.
— Calm down love— I say after feeling that the contraction eased.
— I'm the one who should be saying this, Mel— says looking at me— it's going to be okay— kisses my forehead affectionately.
Yeah, it's gonna be okay.
