Featuring Hottest Bachelor

As per Dmitri’s instruction, later that moment, Cullens knocks at his office, while Dmitri and I are discussing my visit. He signals her to come in and she serves us the coffee and the chocolate truffle bars, while we continue with our conversation.

“So Ava, since Manhattan Heights requests for my presence, what can I get from you? You know very well how the negotiation goes,” he jests.

“You’ll have me in return,” I counter and we both laugh at our jokes, while Cullens is obviously pissed off at how the conversation goes. So me being a bitch intentionally shows her how close I am to Dmitri. I run my fingers through his sleeves and act flirty in front of him. Her face grimaces even more until she leaves the office.

“I know what you’re doing Ava, don’t be so mean to her,” Dmitri says.

“What?”, shrugging my shoulders, “I just want her to know her place, that’s all,” I sulking say.

He smiles and goes along with our conversation. He agrees to have an exclusive with him if Manhattan Heights would let him borrow me occasionally, and when he says occasionally, it means when he goes out of the country. Astounded by his offer, I couldn’t immediately say yes, given the fact that I have a business to run in Seattle. So I explain to him my situation and he promises to align his schedule with mine.

After the conversation and the agreement we come up with, I need to go back to the office and report to my boss about the great experience I had with him, I mean, the great news I have about Dmitri Sullivan. Before leaving I realize that I don’t have Dmitri’s personal number, and since I want to at least, get in touch with him, I bravely ask for it,

“Err, Dee, mind if I ask if you could give me your number? I mean, what if I need to tell you something, or suddenly schedule an interview, or maybe my boss wants to say something, or maybe-”, I try to explain a lot of things, but then it goes all down to one thing, so I say it with a weak and shy voice, “-or what if I want to talk to you just because I miss you,” I look down feeling dumb.

He steps forward, reassures me with his hugs, “I always have my way to contact you Ava, and believe me, I will know when you miss me, and you,” he brushes my nose again, “will see me right away,” he says. Surprisingly, I didn’t get the answer that I want, but somehow, I feel much more satisfied knowing that he cares for me.

So I take my leave, and for the first time, I use the middle door on my way out, and just as Dmitri has said, no one questions me about it.

“Hey, where are you? I’m already here at the restaurant,” I scold Kendra on the phone because she’s half an hour late for our rendezvous.

Her voice breaks because the reception at this place sucks, “I’m…way now, Nikolai…with me… See you… a bit,” is all I can understand.

I sip the wine I order while waiting for her. I ask her to meet me here, so we could you know, hang out with each other. I want to share with her my experience with Dmitri a while ago.

Not long after, I spot her with Nikolai behind him. Nikolai, being the perfect boyfriend, always spends time with her, especially on Tuesdays, just like today. Kendra luckily is shopping around so she agrees to meet me here despite their definite rule that Tuesdays are only their time. Well, you know, given the fact that he’s married.

So I wave at her, and she cheerfully runs to me while pulling Nikolai’s hand. As soon as they get in my place, I check his left ring finger if he has his wedding ring on, it may seem some kind of a habit for me, I always want him to at least remove it, but since he mentioned the reason for wearing it on, I kind of accepted it a bit. And apparently, I no longer feel distant towards him, so I both greet them with a smiling face.

I stand up and hug Kendra tightly, and I kiss Nikolai on the cheek, which is, by the way, the first time to happen.

“Somebody’s in a good mood today,” Kendra teases me while poking my side. Nikolai seems relieved of my mood. Before K and I sit down, Nikolai decides to take his leave, which is the usual setup when we meet, but being happy today, I want to do something to make my best friend happy.

“So, I’ll wait in the car, just call me when you’re done,” he directs to K and kisses her on the lips, a warm passionate kiss. Then he turns on me, “Ms. Anderson, enjoy the night,” but before he could take his step, I halt him.

“Hey, Nikolai,” I call him by his first name after two years of knowing him which shock both of them. It immediately puts him to a stop, “Come again,” he asks since he doubts what he heard, so I repeat what I said.

“I said Nikolai,” smiling widely at him. Kendra suddenly puts her palm on my forehead to check if I am just feverish. So I tap her hand away and ask Nikolai to join us, “Since you are already here, it will be too awkward to not have you around. I don’t want you to wait in the car that long, nor Kendra to feel pressure to stay longer. And besides, it is Tuesday today, so have a seat.”

My invitation puts a bright mood on Nikolai’s handsome face and tears in my best friend’s eyes. She hugs me and says nothing more, for once, I’ve finally and officially accepted their relationship.

I sit down and watch them happily as they settle in their place here with me. I think, having such an open relationship with Dee, or if you can really call it a relationship, really broadens my perspective that there’s no such thing as standards when you begin to love someone. Society may put different boundaries, but the heart always goes out to where you belong.
