Chapter 24: Chapter 24
I slam the car door to his face as my biatch attitude surfaces at the early stage of our acquaintanceship. Even, I, myself, am, in fact, surprised by the behavior I acted towards Claire, and in front of this guy. Dmitri, being a cool guy, chooses to calm himself before entering the car. Though I've seen him cursed outside, I still find him, damn attractive. After some minutes passed, he decided to hop in, and when I see one of his men opening the door handle beside me, I slide myself against the comfy car seat and move myself to the other end of the seat. He glares at my action but says nothing. Then he lights the car, and the same man closes the door for him. The chauffeur greets him and in return, he coldly instructs him where to go as soon as he takes his seat. I can see that he is still staring at me, but the last thing I want to do is talk to him.
So the first half of our trip has been silent. I just stared at the window the whole time enjoying the view. I peek at Dmitri and see him with his eyes closed, so I gently take out my phone and secretly photograph him. I fill my eyes with his peaceful image of sleeping. And then I talk to Mr. Burk, the chauffeur, to make a request, "Hi, could you please turn off the lights here? Dmitri is sleeping, I don't want to wake him with those bright lights." He immediately follows and I close my eyes to take a nap, as well.
During my deep sleep, I am abruptly awakened by the invisible bump on the road which caused the car to bounce violently. Fortunately, Dmitri's left hand is on my head protecting it, while his right arms travel to both my shoulders embracing me. My body suddenly leans to him as he advances to my side. I look at his face and his face is in a grimace, "Be more careful Tommy," he angrily criticizes poor Mr. Burk.
Mr. Burk apologizes tremendously, and later on, Dmitri sighs deeply and tells Mr. Burk that he was just surprised. Then he turns to me, checking my head and still embracing me, he talks to me in his sweet manly voice as if we didn't have a fight, "Are you hurt, Avery?". I just simply nod and lean my head to his chest, and move my body closer to his. I thought he would push me away but he didn't. He holds me in his arms tighter and kisses me on my lips, a sweet peck on the lips.
I look at him still with sleepy eyes, and murmurs in a weak voice, "Hey, Dmitri, about earlier, I am-", but he shuts me up with his warm sweet kiss. And I again can taste his citrus, mint-like breath. I completely shut my eyes and just wander in his warm kisses.

After almost an hour trip, we finally arrive at his office. I check the time on my watch and it says 2:00 AM. So I innocently ask Dmitri, "Will they still be here at this hour?"
He chuckles a bit, "Yes when the owner shows up, time doesn't matter, will it?"
Apparently, no, I thought. Then, Mr. Burk, opens his door and waits for him to alight the car, then closes it. I, on the other hand, open the door by myself, but when Mr. Burk saw me, he dashes to my side, panting, and says, "Please, let me, Ms. Anderson," so I let him open it for me. He reaches for my hand and guides me as I get off the car. The moment my feet set to the ground, Mr. Burk buds us goodbye and drives off.
Now is the time to mesmerize me with this beautiful structure since I am now standing in front of it. I look around and even check how high this mirror building could be. Their drop-off is wide enough for three lanes of cars. On both ends of the pavements, they installed white granite tiles that give off the sophisticated looks and match the two pillars on both sides. Meanwhile, I can see two big revolving doors on the left side and one small motion sensor door in the middle. On the left side, there is one average woman, two young men, and two older men rushing towards the revolving door. All are in their best attire and panting. Apparently, they are here to greet Dmitri. She says in an alluring way, "Good morning, Mr. Sullivan, thank you for flying here at this hour, the board members and the representative from Golden Gates Enterprise, and Funds & Properties Consultants, Inc., are all here now."
The woman seeing me beside Dmitri gives me a jealous look and scrutinizes my outfit. I am wearing a loud pink plain flitted flowy skirt, a dark brown turtle neck top, a cream coat, and a brown belt as an accent. To complete my Dior look, I wear my brown leather mid-cut boots. I ignore her glare and wear a poker face, not until Dmitri pulls me on his side, wraps his arm around my waist, and speaks up, "This is Ms. Avery Anderson, my girl-, I mean, my guest, and I will be taking her inside the conference hall."
The woman's lips twitch and disagree with the idea, "But, sir, all the important figures will be there, are you su-", before she could even finish her remarks, Dmitri blocks her.
"-So does she, Ms. Johnson. She's important to me, so give her the respect you'll give me and stop glaring at her," Dmitri gives a fair warning using his authoritative voice.
The woman and the employees flustered, "Yes, Mr. Sullivan," and she bows to us and leads us the way, "This way, please, Mr. Sullivan, Ms. Anderson."
This time, I scorn her by giving her a disastrous stare while curling and pouting my lips up. Instead of using the revolving door, we use the one in the middle. I just found out that only Dmitri can use it. And now, I do, too.
I walk side by side with Dmitri holding my head high until I see a familiar figure and utter nervously,
"Seigfried?"
Dmitri holds me tighter.
