Chapter 133: Chapter 133
(Avery’s Thoughts)
Later this evening, all four of us will meet Jeff’s parents. And because of it, I am so dead worried and I can’t get this nervousness out of my system. So while Jeff is away meeting his parents ahead of time, I rush downstairs and go to our neighboring villa.
I knock ceaselessly, but Kendra and Nik aren’t coming out. I move back to look up, and I see that the light is on, it means they are there, so I continue to rampage on their door.
“Kendra, Kendra,” I knock nonstop, “Open up, please!” I scream a little loud.
Then after five minutes of almost breaking their door down, someone finally opens the door for me.
“Thank God you finally come out, what took you so l–” I am about to complain but when I see her glaring at me with her hair a little bit frizzy and wrap in a blanket, I know that I should be more careful with my next words.
Then later on Nik comes down with a little sweat on his forehead.
“Uh-oh, definitely a bad timing, Avery,” I say to myself.
Then Kendra with her nose where smoke can come out anytime finally speaks her first angry words, “The hell, Avery! Can’t you at least read the situation? We were planning to have sex for an hour straight but thanks to you, it only took fifteen minutes,” she crosses her arms while still holding to the blanket wrap-around her.
I put my hands together as if I am praying and ask for forgiveness, “I am so sorry. Really sorry, b-but, could you please help me out? I am so dead nervous, now. Please? Please?”
And I squeeze myself in, on the gap between her and the door, without asking permission, “What the! Hey, Where do you think you are going? We ar enot yet–”
But I didn’t listen, instead, I sit down where Nik is temporarily relaxing, and I can tell from his pants that he still has his erection.
As soon as I sit down, he decides to leave, “I leave you, two girls, alone,” then he kisses her on her forehead and comes out of the villa.
Because of it, Kendra’s glare turns into a murderous look, “Good grief, Avery! Now, you ruined it!”
Then she goes to the kitchen to drink some water and washes her face to steam the heat inside her body.
Then she sits down beside me with the blanket still on, “So, how big is that problem and you end up ruining a great sex?” she mocks me.
“I am nervous. I–I don’t know if they are going to like me. I don’t even know how to act in front of an elderly. Let alone, one of them is Asian, and both of them are quite conservative according to Jeff. Do I look great? Should I change?”
She lets me finish with my nagging and then sighs deeply, “Avery, they are going to like you! And even if they don’t, Jeff will still choose you, okay? So, chillax! Who are you going to be with, is it them or Jeff?”
“Jeff,” I short answer.
“See, then problem solved. As for the dress, well, you look stunning. Let’s just hope they will appreciate the beauty of your skin,” then she grins, pertaining to my dress as a little bit provocative.

Later on, the three of us walk to the address that Jeff sent to Nik. And since the place is just nearby us, we decided to walk.
I see Kendra and Nik walking side by side, while Kendra is happily linking her arms to Nik’s. I am just glad to see them so happy.
It is night time, but because of the bar, nightclubs, and different bonfire and activities by the seashore, this place is extremely crowded.
Locals, tourists, foreigners, all of them are enjoying. Loud music, flickering colorful lights and a lot more make this place alive.
Finally, we have arrived at this beachfront restaurant called, ‘Paraiso sa El Nido’. I heard that this place is kind of popular so I am wondering why does it seem so empty tonight.
Only three sets of long table arranged in particular manner under a big umbrella tent, surrounded by warm light fairy lights around the edge of the big tent.
Then flower petals are scattered on the ground. Glowing lotus flowers inside a bowl as the centerpiece of every table attracts my eyes, and the gold/rustic like arrangement of it complete my dream motif.
This is something what we discuss before in France. My heart pounds as I step on it. There, I see Jeff, and two elderlies beside him throwing their biggest and widest smiles at me.
“That’s his parents, I presume. He got his eyes and hair from her Japanese mom, and his other features all from his dad.”
Then when I look further, at he corner of the tent, I see familiar faces, Art who runs towards Kendra and Nik, Peach who is waving at me, and also Uncle from France. .
I stop and clench my fists, “It’s not what I think it is, right?” I convince myself, but other familiar faces tells me that this is bigger than just introducing his parents to me.
I gulp and try to take small steps towards him.
“B-babe?” I finally find my voice.
Then as soon as he reaches for my hand, the background music played by the acoustic band begin to play a harmonious heartfelt song, “Terrified by Katharine McPhee”.
Then he guides me to a solo tiffany chair in the middle and have me seated on it.
So I whisper, “Babe, what’s this? I thought this is supposed to introduce me to your family?”
Then he taps my thighs, “Babe, relax, okay?” But how can I relax if the scenario is like this?
Then they set up some backdrop behind him, and a bit of a stage, and Jeff takes the stand.
I look at Kendra and Art, and they look so excited and happy. I look at Peach and she just gives me a go-signal using her thumb.
Then I look at his parents and his mom is crying while his father is comforting him.
Then Jeff begins to say a lot of things about how we met, how he courted me, how he fell in love with me, and everyone seems to be reacting.
But my heart, instead of pure joy, can’t believe what’s happening. I couldn’t even concentrate on what he’s saying. In fact, I think I am having a panic attack.
But Jeff is so absorbed with his speech, and everyone with the romantic scenario, so they didn’t notice.
Thank goodness, at least Kendra and Art are quick to catch, they pretend to be by my side acting like my parents, and smiling at the visitors.
And they whisper to me,
“Do you want us to stop this?” asks Art.
“Breathe, Avery, it’s just your panic attack, you can beat it. Come on, breathe with me, 1… 2… 3…” says Kendra.
“Don’t you like to get married to him?” asks Art again.
“I–I want to, b-but I cheated on him, how can I marry him?” I ask.
“He loves you and he’s willing to forgive you, A. So, if he asks you to marry him now, as in right now, will you say yes? Or no?” but Kendra’s questions sound more of an ultimatum.
“N-now? Uhm, I guess, yes. I j-just didn’t expect it to be this quick,” I answer.
“Do you feel cornered? Do you want him to stop?” asks Art again, trying to clear my head.
“Stop it Art, you are confusing her,” argues Kendra.
“No, I want her to decide happily. So answer me, Avery,” contradicts Art.
The two of them bicker silently while still wearing a smile on their face.
“Stop! You two, yes, I’ll geet married to Jeff, anywhere, anywhen,” I take a deep breath and finally find my peace.
Then I hold their hands and say, “But stay with me, like this, okay?”
Then Jeff asks me to join him on stage, and when Kendra and Art walk me to him, they soon get off the stage.
Jeff gets down on one-knee and proclaims his love for me,
“Avery Anderson, you already know what’s inside my heart, I know this isn’t our original plan, but I can’t let another day passed without claiming you as my wife. I want to own you, I want you to be mine as soon as possible.”
He takes a deep breathe and gets courage from his parents as he looks at them. Then he looks at me once again,
“This isn’t a proposal. I want to marry you right now, and in case you worry about something else, let me tell you all has been taken care of, all I need is your answer. I, Jeff Tales, want to marry you, Avery Anderson.”
I gulp and look at all my friends, and finally answer, “Yes, I’ll marry you now,” and as soon as I answer, an officiator steps forward and begins with the wedding ceremony: a ceremony secured by rings and sealed with a sacred kiss.
And the night ends with me, now officially, Avery Anderson - Tales.
