Chapter 126: Chapter 126
(Jeff’s Thoughts)
Our conversation is disturbed when Nikolai’s phone has been calling nonstop. He doesn’t want to answer probably because he already knows who it is, and given Kendra’s reaction, she doesn’t like it.
And after a text message is sent to his boyfriend, she snatches the phone from him and angrily lashes out to the person calling, “My boyfriend is not your errand boy.”
The conversation continues and Kendra’s worried face appears. And as soon as the phone call ends, she looks at me again.
“Do you still want to marry her, Jeff? Give me the truth,” she demands. And this time, I look down, “Not anymore, I am hanging on a thread here, Kendra. It hurts so much,” I say trying to hold back the tears.
“Then, what’s keeping you from calling off the wedding?” she asks me with prying eyes.
“For once, I just want her to be honest with me. If she admits she cheated, and maybe swear she’ll only love me, then maybe that,” I calmly say.
“And if she continue lying?” she asks again.
“I’ll call it off right away,” I firmly say.
“All or nothing?” she quickly gets what I want.
“It’s all or nothing!”
“I’ll help you both decide. Come with us!” she says while in a hurry picking her things up, and asking for the bill.
“Where are we going?” Nikolai asks her. And she shows her the address on her phone.
“Hospital? Why here?” Nikolai’s brows furrowed.
“Avery’s in the hospital, and this will be the prefect timing for you to get your answer and get your woman back, let’s go,” she says with an authoritative voice.

Kendra instructs me not to go to the room first and give her time to talk to her instead. I know she’s only concern about her so I agree to it.
Little did I know, somebody else would show up from that room’s door. No wonder why she’s in the VIP suite.
When Kendra and Nik enter the room, I just stand outside while resting my back, leaning on the wall, waiting for my turn.
But instead of a peaceful conversation, I hear Kendra shouts at someone, and the commotion starts.
Then, after a few minutes, everything go quiet, and a very familiar figure came out of my fiancee’s room.
His lips have blood on it, probably Kendra’s doing, and I see him looking sadly at the room’s direction, uttering the words, “Goodbye, Avery.”
With him mentioning my fiancee’s name, I lose control of my body and my mind. The ocmposure and image I’ve been trying to keep clean is now tainted with his blood gushing out form his nose.
Before he notices my presence, and even before I know it, I already punched him twice on the face, something that I should have done long ago. And to be honest, it was quite satisfying.
He spits out the blood from his lips and wipes his nose’s blood, then he grins, “I see you’ve gotten quite strong,” Dmitri is know for his ridiculous remarks.
“Is that how you meet an old friend, pal?” he adds.
I click my tongue and scoff at him, “A friend, or a pal, doesn’t covet his friend’s woman,” I say.
“Your woman? I was her first, Jeff. I was her first in everything, and I was the first one who came into her life and you know that,” he runs his mouth and blood rushes to my brain.
I charge at him and pin him on the wall, and I throw another punch at him, “You were her first, and yet to wasted her. You broke her, Dmitri. And I was there to fix her. I am always there for her, when you are not!” I emphasize.
But then he recovers from my punch and kick me on my leg, then he grabs me by my collar and then pins me on the wall, “But I’ve always been the one for her Jeff. You fucking know that. Because she wouldn’t be running back to me all the time if it is you she loves. It is me Jeff, I am her one true love!”
His words trigger the fuming madness inside me, so I keep on kicking him and punching him until he is down on the floor,
“Because you always confused her asshole. You are not even man enough to take responsibility of her, or her love, or your love for her. So why don’t you just fuck off and leave the rest to me.”
I grab him by his collar while he still smiles and grins in that state, “Stay the fucking out of her life, and let her be happy for once.”
“She’ll be the one to decide that, Jeff. Didn’t you know, she almost broke off your engagement,” he scoffs. And it even pokes my anger, so I headbutt him, and hit him again.
I scream “But she didn’t. She is still engaged to me, isn’t she?” I mock him.
But he insults me back, “Because I rejected her love. I send her away back to you,” but what I hate the most what him sounding as if she’s insulted Avery.
“She’s not a fucking thing that you just toss around for fun and throw away when you are done,” I yell at him.
The door suddenly open and Kendra shouts, “What the! Enough!”
And Nikolai grabs me away from him, “Jeff, that’s enough. It’s Avery we come here to, not him.”
Then I shrug him off of me and stand on my own.
I point to Dmitri and give him a warning, “You! You were the one who said you sent her back to me, so don’t you dare show your face in front of her ever again. Stay the fuck away from us. Stay away from my fiancee!”
I see nurses coming to aid him, while Kendra and Nikolai try to explain the situation to the staff, and there, I hear a soft voice, Avery’s voice, “J-jeff?”
I look inside the room and see her standing beside the bed, her face looks smaller and thinner, her lips are chapped, and her color is so pale, and when I see her loses her balance, my feet automatically run to her and catch her on her fall, one thing I always do.
With a weak voice she says, “Jeff, I am sorry. I am glad you are here,” and she slowly closes her eyes, so I put her on the bed and yells, “Nurse! Kendra, she faints again!”
And there I see Dmitri just quietly standing in the room, not being able to come near her, for once in my life, I feel asif I won over him.
