Chapter 1: Chapter 1

"Wake up! Sean! You will be late for school!"

A new day has begun, and Aunt Anna wakes me up from a sweet unfinished dream. Wearily, I sat up and pulled back the blanket, my hand slowly pulling the curtain to let on the light. After that, I checked my phone again to check the watch as a daily routine.

Oh! Nine o'clock to twelve! Great job, and I only have a few minutes left before I go to my new classroom!

"Ah… Okay, hurry up!"

My mouth mumbled, limbs began to work at full capacity to dress and clean neatly from top to bottom. Then, I grabbed my gray-blue backpack and rushed down to the first floor - straight out of the house. My aunt is in the kitchen right now and said out loud:

"Hey, don't forget to eat breakfast!"

"I will take this! Thank you, auntie!"

I quickly went around to the kitchen, grabbed a sandwich, put it in my mouth, and rushed out into the yard. Approaching the bicycle, I was riding on three legs and four legs while cycling quickly when the taste of the sandwich began to soften in the oral cavity. The rush left me on time to enjoy the beautiful scenery on the road to the new school.

The cold wind blew my hair into a mess, causing my ears to tingle slightly. After a few short minutes, the owner of the old car - me, arrived. And oh, let's make a clear introduction first, right?

Hello, my name is Sean Douglas, but that's while I'm here - a small town in the United States of America. In Vietnam, my name is Tuyền An.

If you are wondering why I am here. Well, it is a rather long and not very cheerful story. I just started moving here in mid-April. My father died suddenly when I was in kindergarten, because of a traffic accident, leaving my mother alone to raise me. That idyllic life would have continued, if my mother hadn't decided to leave with her mistress and leave her stupid child alone.

Are you saying that I'm sad? Yes! Of course I'm not happy, but I don't know, because I was just a mistake born by my mother. The truth is that I am not the crystallization of the love of my father and my mother, but just a seed planted in the secret love between two people on a night in a fateful bar in Hanoi. My father had a family before but still decided to have an affair with my mother. In the end, my mother was pregnant and he denied responsibility for the pregnancy, despite her pleasure to hold on.

But finally, my mother still kept me and raised me even though her attitude was always extremely cold. When I was in third grade, my mother told me the whole truth, and in a harsh voice, she ended the story:

"I hate you. I shouldn't have done it that night!"

That year, I was only eight years old, too young to receive a big shock. But it all worked out, because at least I knew why I wasn't as loved by my mother as other children. And then, instead of relying on my mother, I learned to live more independently, maturing early before she left her son at any time.

Time passed by at the end of middle school, and the day my mother gave up her tiring life came, just as she wished. New love, new life away from this cursed land forever, sounds great, right?

Well, as you can see, instead of being alone, I was picked up by my mother's sister - Aunt Anna, who lives in America!

That is a good start, isn't it? I guess my fate is not so tragic…

Aunt Anna has entered middle age but is still quite young. She has a very happy marriage, with her husband - Uncle Roger. The two have an obedient child named Jack. My aunt's family's Vietnamese restaurant business is also very good, so raising another grandchild is not a problem.

After that, during the few months in town, I spent most of my time helping my aunt at the restaurant, improving my communication skills as well. Actually, when I lived in Vietnam, I excelled at learning foreign languages. It's fair to say that I was exceptionally gifted. During my middle school years, I even joined the English test team and received excellent marks! So I suppose that's why I was able to swiftly adapt to my new surroundings. This pretty pink-haired girl running with me to biology class is proof.

"Hi, Sean! What a coincidence! How are you?"

"I'm fine. Thank you, Beth!"

Her name is Elizabeth Benz. Only sixteen, of course we're the same age. I know Beth because she often stops by Aunt Anna's for dinner. Beth adores Asian cuisine, particularly Phở, which she insists on trying whenever she visits the Douglas family restaurant.

Beth's bright grin and stunning looks were my first impressions of her. Beth is one centimeter higher than me, standing at 1m78. The smooth white complexion, slim body, and long flowing hair tinted with pink quartz make you stand out. More than that, "tiny" Beth has a distinct, sometimes eccentric sense of style. For instance, in this light blue lace dress, Beth's huge auburn eyes now match the outfit's color, and there are pearls under her eyes as highlights. But, regardless of how strange Beth appears, there's no disputing her sensitive, emotional character, and most importantly, Beth is sweet and she is my friend! My only close friend of the opposite sex in this place, who has helped me integrate faster with the pace of life in a foreign country.

Besides, we got to know each other quickly because Beth is fascinated by foreign cultures, of which Vietnam is one. Beth recently stated that when she turns eighteen, she plans to spend a year traveling and exploring new places. Beth even insisted on me being her tour guide when we both returned to Vietnam. Because it's not a big deal so I promise to do the same.

Well, Let's get back to the main topic because I still need to focus on starting a new class because the teacher is already there…

"Good morning, class! Can we start today's biology class?"

Mr. Abraham flipped through the documents he had just placed on the table, his stern gaze swept down the noisy classroom. The teacher's fingers pushed the thick frames of his glasses up to the bridge of his nose and began to check the number of students.

"Sam!"

"Yes, sir!"

"Jonhny!"

"I'm here.Mr. Abraham."

"Good. And… Sean Douglas!"

His stern tone forced me to stop talking to Beth at the next table. I raised my hand and replied seriously:

"I'm here, teacher!"

Suddenly, I saw the teacher's face a little uncomfortable.

So what does that mean? Did I acting strangely? But then I realized that what made this difficult teacher so angry was from behind my back!

"Eliot!Is Eliot here?"

"Mr.Eliot, wake up!"

"Yes."

Suddenly, a seductive masculine voice mixed with sleepiness sounded from behind me.

Yeah, guys! Here is our main character.

Eliot, full name is Eliot Dominic Valeriano - Cold but handsome bad boy, the most popular guy in Ocean Lullaby's high school!

"If you're too sleepy, go home and sleep, Mr. Dominic!"

"School serves as a second home. Wouldn't it be unreasonable if I couldn't unwind at home... Wouldn't it, sir?"

Mr. Abraham was a little taken aback. The teacher's face turned black.

"You..."

Eliot tucked his hair back to his ear, smiled faintly, and then began flipping through his biology textbook as well:

"I'm just joking. Please continue the lecture!"

Despite his anger in his heart, teacher Abraham could no longer reply to him; and therefore he had to start a new class. The loud murmur of the female friends could be heard above me, about a table to the right. Who else is present except the protagonist:

"Oh my god, Eliot is so cool! How dare he turn on that difficult teacher!"

"He is really handsome. I think I have a crush on him..."

"His skin is so pretty. Everywhere on him is beautiful too. Sometimes I even think he is not a normal human. How can he be so perfect?!"

Perfect? Oh, I almost forgot. Eliot, in fact, is flawless in every way. He is descended from a wealthy but enigmatic American family.

Outstanding height - 1m98, many inches taller than me. Although I had never met Eliot when I first moved to town, I had heard about his reputation through my lovely aunt Anna and lively companion Elizabeth.

To be honest, I'm envious of Eliot, but I also secretly adore him. Because his life is so extraordinary!

I'm just a regular male student, and that's how the rest of the audience thinks. But, every now and again, I have to ask myself if I'm really "normal"...

Oh shit! The moment I looked at that attractive smirk blooming on those rosy lips, I knew my heart must have been in big trouble...

The moment I saw that smile was also when I realized that I had turned my head to look at Eliot unconsciously. Under the faint color of the golden rays of the sun, his platinum-white hair seemed to shine brightly. The proud high nose, radiant white skin covered in black cloth from top to bottom; thin lips lightly drawing a mysterious curve, at the same time as those beautiful blue eyes.

Even when I hurriedly turned my head, the deep ocean color in those pupils still made my skin shiver slightly, even though it was summer. However, in contrast to that, my cheeks suddenly turned red and hot, like someone with a fever. An indescribable embarrassment flooded my mind.

Oh, hateful Eliot! Does he want to burn me with that look?

Cold, dangerous but indescribably attractive...
