Chapter 190: Chapter 190
In the evening, after work, Liu Yue Zhang gathered the researchers from the Engineering College to explain Rong Zhi’s identity. After listening, these people’s expressions were visibly surprised.
Among them, Lu Si had the largest reaction.
He jumped directly from the table, his knee hitting the edge, causing him to grimace in pain and curl up like a shrimp.
Liu Yue Zhang pursed his lips, enviously saying, "...Dr. Rong even told me he wanted to personally mentor you. Remember to learn from him about remaining calm in the moment."
Lin Qiming sighed deeply, "I also want to be mentored by Teacher Rong!"
The other people were silent, but their eyes expressed the same sentiment. They all looked at Lu Si, both envious and jealous.
Lu Si, having just recovered and looking up, said, "...We can talk about this."
At dusk, the school gate was bustling, and all sorts of luxury cars were everywhere.
Rong Zhi delicately parked her car and got out while looking at her phone.
After she left, two casually dressed individuals passed by her parking spot, seemingly unintentionally, and appeared to throw something under the car. Two minutes later, the two disappeared as if they were just passing by.
Rong Jiazze was in Grade 2, Class 9.
The school was quite large, with the teaching buildings for grades 1 to 3 on the left side of the playground. Following directions, Rong Zhi went up to the third floor and found the sign for Class 2-9.
There was a teacher at the door, who paused upon seeing her. When he learned she was Rong Jiazze’s parent, he immediately smiled and led her to a seat.
The child was likely performing well at school, as their seat was in the front row center.
Rong Zhi’s long legs were somewhat cramped under the table and couldn’t stretch out, but fortunately, the parent-teacher meeting only lasted two hours, and she could leave after it ended.
Before leaving, however, the teacher stopped her.
"The thing is, Student Jiazze performs exceptionally well in school. He has already mastered the second-grade materials. Our suggestion is that he try skipping a grade," the teacher sincerely suggested.
Rong Zhi was about to put on her mask. Hearing this, she nodded, "I will discuss it with him."
The teacher smiled and agreed.
Jiazze’s grades were indeed excellent; he listened attentively in class and scored full marks on exams.
One day, the teacher saw him self-studying higher-grade material and decided to test him. To her surprise, he answered correctly. This prompted the teacher to make the suggestion to Rong Zhi after the parent-teacher meeting.
As she left the school and prepared to return to Huqing District, as soon as Rong Zhi got in the car, the interior lights turned completely red, and a piercing alarm sounded from the console.
Her expression turned slightly grim.
She had modified the car soon after buying it, such that any unknown device would immediately trigger the alarm.
Her fingers tapped on the steering wheel. After turning off the alarm, she expressionlessly turned the wheel.
The driving route changed to a different path.
The Milky Way was desolate, and the white sedan streaked like a star across the empty highway, swift and rapid.
The roadside scenery grew increasingly eerie.
Rong Zhi rolled down the window, allowing the cold wind to lift the hair at her temples. In the endless silent night, only the sound of the car skimming close to the ground reverberated through the night sky.
She glanced sideways, then narrowed her eyes.
In each of her rearview mirrors was reflected a black sedan.
The kind that kidnappers used.
She pressed the accelerator, her left hand on the button in the center of the steering wheel. The passenger seat popped open, revealing a row of neatly arranged grenades. She grabbed one casually, pulled the pin without looking, and tossed it backward out the window.
She had calculated the force and angle, ensuring the grenade would accurately hit the black car on the left.
When she looked in the rearview mirror again, the windshield of the black car on the left seemed to have a large hole, and two seconds later, a booming explosion erupted.
The KCE-328 special grenade, coveted internationally, was thrown by her with surprising nonchalance.
Rong Zhi lightly clicked her tongue, her eyes filled with a cold glint.
Their pursuit power significantly reduced after losing the car in the explosion. The remaining vehicle no longer intended to play cat and mouse with her and instead accelerated directly to fiercely ram into her!
The sound of gunfire hitting the rear window.
Rong Zhi looked in the rearview mirror, seeing a person on the passenger side of the black car leaning out, randomly firing a handgun at her, likely aiming for the tires knowing they couldn’t catch her with speed.
Suddenly, the road turned into an intersection.
An even fiercer collision came from the front of the car.
The crash caused Rong Zhi to jolt backward momentarily, and the airbag instantly deployed as she glanced fiercely at the car in front of her. She pressed her lips together, dismantling her wristband to cut through the airbag.
Then she opened the car door, deftly and swiftly flipping herself into the forest beside the road.
Seeing her exit the car, the people from both vehicles quickly followed. They were dressed in identical dark green uniforms, each holding a weapon, and their leader gestured forward, signaling everyone to go in and search.
