Chloe Montclair

I pick up his call and placed the phone on my right ear. "Excuse yourself from them." He ordered.

The gut of this arrogant man!

I smiled sweetly at the good woman standing in front of me and told her politely I need some privacy to talk to him.

She told Tiana to come with her and left me alone. "I hope, you know that you're being rude for no reason Ken. We ought to see this morning and now, you had traveled?." I asked in a disbelief tone.

"Is someone falling in love with me, already?." He teased.

"Oh please! Spare me that. You know what I'm talking about."

"Ms. Montclair, may I remind you that.. you have no right to talk to me in such a manner? I think I haven't shown you what I'm capable of doing and that's why you're this free with me."

"But you-"

"That's enough!" He cut me off. " I have a very important business to attend to. It might take up to 2-3 weeks. You stay there at my house and Nanny will take good care of you two. Be nice to her, she means a lot to me." He added and before I could say anything, he hang up the call.

I swear, this man has lost it! I can't believe he just hang up the call on me. He needed me and that was why he came to me and now, he's treating me like trash.

I decide to follow the part which they both did and guess what? These two ladies were already laughing and talking like they'd known each other for years. I can't believe what's going on here.

"Is everything okay?." I asked as I walked into the kitchen.

"Yes, everything is fine dear. Your friend here is so funny and fun to be with."

"I can see that. If I may ask, do you two know each other before now?."

"Stop asking silly questions and come join us here. Didn't you perceive the aroma? I'm positive her food will taste good. I can't wait, I'm famished." Tiana said.

Glutton- I thought.

"I've started to get to know your friend but, I haven't known much about you yet. Ken hasn't said much about you." Ms. Steve said.

"Erm... I can help you with that, right?." I asked as I took the knife from her and started to cut the tomatoes. While Tiana was frying the plantain.

"Okay girls. Here is going to be your room." She said as she pointed at a particular room. "And you." She said facing Tiana. "This room is yours." It's the room opposite mine.

"Thank you so much, Ms. Steve for today. I had a wonderful day." Tiana said to her.

"Me too."

"Okay girls. I'm going to leave you all alone for now and go to my chamber. If you need anything, the telecon is in there in your room. Just make a call and I will attend to you right away." She said.

"Sure. Thank you so much." We both said in unison and she left.

Once she was out of our sight, Tiana took hold of my wrist, opened my room door, and drag me inside with her. Rolling my eyes, I asked her. "What's it, Tiana?."

"Are you seriously asking me such a question? Tell me the truth, Chloe. You knew Mr. President from somewhere before now right.."

"He's not the president, point of correction."

"Whatever! As long as his father is, he's also the president. Now answer me. You knew him right?."

"What sort of a question is that? Of course, you and I both know that I know him from nowhere. You were present the first day he came to meet me."

"Then, how comes we're... No, I mean, how come you're being treated like a queen? I mean, don't you think all these are much? He brought us to his house!" She exclaimed.

"And, how am I supposed to know that? I had no idea we will be brought to a place like this. Besides, we will not be staying here for a long time. Once he's back from his business trip, and I sign all the necessary papers... He will pay me and we would get a house of our own." I said with a shrugged shoulder.

"I know, all this won't mean anything to you since you were once a rich kid. Chloe, I wish my father is as rich as this. I'm in love with what I'm seeing right now." She said dreamily.

I wish I can tell you more about your father but, I don't. Only Ken knows enough about him but, I'm sure he's more than you think. I'm sorry I can't say anything to you now. I will help you fight for what rightfully belongs to you... I promise you that- I thought to myself.

"Hey! Why are you deep in thought, again? Haven't we talked about this already?." I heard her ask as she poke my arm bringing me out of my thought.

"Sorry. So, what do we do now? We have no plans for now. I can't believe, we will both sit here for weeks without doing anything." I hissed in an annoyed tone. Ken is just annoying! I hope he knows that.

"Stop bothering yourself with things that aren't worth it. After so many years girl. We were able to get out of that place. To see a new set of people, a good fresh air, and know what's going on in the world and yet, you're still complaining? Come on, Raheenah. You should be grateful for what has happened in our lives. We're going to live a good life from now on." She said and, I kept on looking at her like she's gone crazy.

"Look, I know you have a lot of things on my mind at the moment... Especially, your sister and that fraudster but please, you just got out from where you never belonged in the first place. I want you to forget about everything for now and set your mind at peace. Be happy for the next few days before... You get to know what to do next." She advised.
