Chapter 113: Chapter 113

Sebastian booked a hotel room on their way from the hospital and drove down there with the car that Carol had brought as fast as he could. The sexual tension between the two of them kept mounting until it felt as though the car would explode with the force of it. He could hardly keep his hands off her body as they got on the elevator, and of a truth, she could not keep her hands off his body either. Luckily enough, they were the only ones on the elevator and even on the hotel's corridor. By the time they got to their room, they were kissing passionately and within seconds, had divested themselves of their clothes, whereupon they fell unto the bed in unison and made love until they were both spent, after which they lay in each other's arms, trying to catch their breaths.

Carol's mind was preoccupied with thoughts of how on earth she was supposed to leave all of this, but not coming up with a reasonable answer, no matter how hard she thought about it. Sebastian was drawing invisible patterns on her bare back as they lay in bed and the soothing sensation was almost lulling her to sleep when a sudden thought crossed her mind, causing her to stiffen immediately as her heart began to pound harder than it had ever pounded in her life. She had just been thinking of how she had to remember to use an emergency contraceptive when she got back home when she remembered that the last time that she had Sebastian had had sex, they did not use protection, neither did she remember to take an emergency contraceptive. It had not been her fault though, at least not really, because, in her defense, it was immediately after that day that the saga with Charlotte had happened and she had had to spend some time admitted to the hospital. Even when she had gotten back home, she did not remember anything about it until this very minute.

"What's wrong?" Sebastian asked, cutting across her train of thoughts.

"Huh?"

"What are you thinking about? You just stiffened in my arms. Is anything the matter?" he asked, still drawing patterns on her back, but now, nothing was soothing to her. She tried to think frantically about when last she had seen her period and realized with dismay that the last time she had had sex was during her ovulation period.

"Um, no. nothing is the matter." She replied, her heart pounding fast. How could she have forgotten to use a contraceptive at least when she got out of the hospital? Who was that careless and stupid?

"We'll have to stop at a pharmacy and get a contraceptive pill on our way back since we did not use protection," Sebastian said, as though he knew what she was thinking.

"Oh, yeah. Sure. We will." Carol stammered, hoping and praying that she was not pregnant. Sebastian had made the fact that he did not want a child very clear when they newly got married, and she did not want to bring a child who would feel unwanted by its father into this world.

"Are you sure you're okay? Your skin is clammy."

"I'm fine. I'll just go and take a shower." Carol said and escaped into the bathroom to take a shower, making the water as hot as she could stand.

"Calm down, Carol. You're probably fine and just worrying yourself for nothing." She tried to console herself. Soon, Sebastian came to join her in the bathroom, and they showered together and even had another round of sex in there. Carol was amazed at herself and how she could still be aroused enough to have sex despite the turmoil that her mind was in. she was already very addicted to Sebastian, his touch, smell, smile, and practically everything that had to do with him and that was going to be a serious problem when she finally had to leave him.

As Sebastian had said, they stopped by a pharmacist and got some post-pill for her, which she immediately used. She decided not to bother herself about whether she was pregnant or not, at least not unless she missed her period. Her period was due anytime from now, so there was no need to panic. She would know soon enough and then know what course of action to take after that. Sebastian stopped by the police station on their way back to inform them about what Jessica had said, and they promised to be on their way to the hospital to take her statement. They soon got back to the hospital to meet an irate Jessica, who refused to speak to either of them. Carol, who was still riding on the high of the lovemaking session that she and Sebastian had just had, could not be bothered to give a flying fuck how the other woman felt and stood by the door impatiently while she waited for Sebastian so that they could go home. After all, she hadn't been doing anything wrong. She had only been having sex with her husband and that was in no way a crime.

From Jessica's curled upper lip, Carol could see that she knew exactly what she and Sebastian had gone to do, but Carol did not care one bit. It wasn't any of Jessica's business anyway. The police came while they were still there and took Jessica's statement, which she gave quite reluctantly, and then Sebastian and Carol were on their way home, with Sebastian driving and Carol sitting beside him in the passenger seat. There was a sort of tension between the two of them, but Carol could not for the life of her think of why there should be any tension between them. Everything had been fine when they had gone to the hotel and even when they had gone back to the hospital, except for Jessica's surly attitude, but she did not think that that was enough reason for the atmosphere between them to be strained. Suddenly, she realized that it was Sebastian who was nervous and that was saying something because she was always the one who was nervous and she had never seen him anxious before.

"Is anything the matter?" She asked hesitantly, not wanting to spoil her good mood, but needing to know all the same.

"Well, no. Why do you ask?"

"I don't know. You seem a little tense to me. I was wondering if it was something I did."

"No, no. It wasn't anything you did at all, but you're right. I need to ask your permission for something."

"Oh um, sure. What is it?" Carol asked in surprise. Sebastian needed her permission for something? He did not strike her as the sort of man to ask permission for anything at all.

"Okay, well. It's about Jessica." Sebastian said looking really uncomfortable, and Carol knew that she would not like whatever would come next.

"What about her?" She asked anyway.

"Um, she says she wants to come live with us as soon as she gets discharged from the hospital. She's going to get discharged the day after tomorrow."
