Chapter 15: Chapter 15

Niharika's POV

It was indeed a hectic day today. I was tired. As soon as I reached home, I felt betrayed by Sapna. I didn't feel safe in my own house. My instincts emphasizes over something being wrong.

I entered my house to find Sapna lying with a pool of blood on the kitchen's floor.

I was taken back. I knew something was wrong, very wrong.

I called the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aryan Vashistha and explained the turmoil to him. He rushed to my place along with his team. My advocate and detective, Raghav had already come. The ambulance was on the way.

My study was ransacked. I received a call on my phone. I picked it up expected the worst.

"Niharika, my nephew..." I could hear feeble, weeping voice of Arpit.

"What happened, Arpit?" I asked. My heart beat was racing.

"Niharika, my nephew, my nephew has not reached home from school. I searched him everywhere. He is in trouble. Please help, please help me." I could hear the sobs. I was stunned.

Something built up inside me. I controlled my fear and said, "Arpit, don't worry. I will do something."

I cut the call. I couldn't hear any more sobs. Once again I felt my world crashing down.

Amidst all this confusion, I confronted the ACP and my private detective Raghav regarding this.

Raghav contacted his subordinate, Kumar who was supposed to keep an eye on Arpit's eight year old nephew.

Sapna was taken to the hospital. My house was under police surveillance. Few officials were collecting evidences on the site of crime.

I was helplessly sitting along with Mr. Bose in the middle of my living room.

Raghav came to inform that Kumar had been caught by the gang of five bikers before he could report the abduction of the little kid. Five bikers kidnapped the kid from school and were startled by Kumar trying to save him. Our surveillance had failed.

"Where is the kid, now?" I asked with hopes of him been fine.

"He is fine. They were friendly with the kid. He had masks on their face. The child is sleeping in the car. We located Kumar via a GPS in his watch and hence, kid is safe. We couldn't catch those bikers. They had left no clues." Raghav gave details of the incident.

I was relaxed to hear finally the child is safe.

"Raghav, get the child here. Listen, check over Niyati. Is she fine? Try to keep a track of Walia. Ask them to meet me tomorrow morning. Let's compromise." I said in a low voice.

"Are you sure?", Mr. Bose interrupted.

"Is there any other way around to meet them and convince them to surrender?" I snapped.

"Okay, madam. I will make sure things happen as desired." Raghav said smiling. He had understood the hint.

"Hmm, I will arrange the setup with ACP." Mr. Bose interjected.
