Chapter 9: Chapter 9

I make my way down the halls with haste. Who knows what they are doing to them. "Having fun playing cat and mouse, Shane?" Jessica's comes through a nearby intercom. What does this bitch want now? "Would you like to know where they are? Ooh, " she coos, "I am sure you would. How about you find me first? Abominations are blue, here is a clue, who is like you?" She then cackles and stops talking. I stop in front of a door that says, "Main Office." This is where Tix and Angie were when they got some files...I shift back into my middle phase between wolf and human. I still wanted to be on the defensive in case she was there. I open the door and find a sticky note on the computer. "Abomination! You found the first clue! Now if roses are red...blood is shed, did your best friend...Maze...make it through the last phase?" Damn you, Jessica! I play the video on the screen and watch a five minute video of Maze growing up with me and then suddenly alone. She is trying to master the mid-phase of her wolf. Maze is then being slapped multiple times by an unknown man in the video with blonde slicked back hair. "Let's try this again, yes?! You are the only somewhat successful elemental. Get it right or die!" He slaps her again and she cries on the white floor. The video ends and Jessica pops up on the screen. My eyes are puffy from the amount of tears I had shed during the video that I growled at the screen when I saw her. "Wow! Harsh right?! To think her only friend forgot about her...tsk tsk, next clue! I was an experiment but now I am the formula, where am I?" I claw the screen with frustration. Electricity surrounds me and I burst the door against the wall on the outside of it. I know exactly where she is. My once test room. This bitch is going to pay.

I find the room I used to be in and see Jessica standing in the middle of the room alone. I open the door and walk in with a snarl. "Easy now...the fun has yet to begin." Jessica smirks. I just stare at her ready to maul her to death. "Guess what? We managed to get a sample from you! Now we're even bitch!" She shifts mid way. Her hair is a light lavender color and her eyes were a dark amber. Not the true amber like me and mom. I don't give her a chance to move. I launch towards her and round house kick her. She blocks my kick and grabs my foot to break it. I quickly react and spin off the leg I am standing on, I use it to kick her in the face causing her to let go of my foot. /Thank you, Drake!/ I think to myself. I am in a crouch position when she quickly gets up off the ground and rushes me. I move to dodge, but she grabs my arm and swings me into a wall. /Super strength?! She has super strength?!/ I think to myself. "This is getting fun!" She says with a sinister tone. She launches at me and then switches to kick me, I duck down and she kicks through the wall. "Shane!" Trevor's voice makes my ears twitch. I see him through the wall Jessica kicked along with Chase and Drake. "Trevor! Chase! Drake!" I feel a crushing pain against my face noticing it was Jessica's punch. "Stay focused, Shane!" Drake calls. I grab my face and look back over to her. "I like that pose. You should always kneel before me!" She goes to kick me, when I spear her in her mid section and tackle her down to the ground. I claw her face. Jessica screams from the pain. I can see where I clawed over her left eye. I could feel my electricity building. I charge it up and get ready to end her. "Not a chance in hell!" Jessica screams at me. She pulls the floor and chunks come up into her hands. She knocks one piece into me. I slide against the floor from the impact. I stagger to get up and wipe some blood from my face. Jessica then starts to grab her abdomen and scream. "WHAT'S HAPPENING?!? I THOUGHT IT COULDN'T REJECT ME!" Her hair starts to change between her regular brown and light lavender. The wolf inside her appears in and out of half her face. Jessica staggers backwards. I take this chance to finish her. I light my claws with electricity. I could see it zapping around me and my hair. "Yeah! Get that bitch!" Chase hollers from the other room. Suddenly, a giant unbreakable glass wall makes it's way down half the room. I start to charge my feet to zip to her when it slams down. "DAMN IT!" I rush at the glass and go berserk. I see the blonde gentlemen from the video enter Jessica's side of the room and covers her. I couldn't hear what they were saying. Then the man looks my way and smiles. He then exits the room.

"Shane!" Trevor calls from the other room. "It's okay...get us out of here." I calm down and make my way to the boys. I wonder if Serena, Angie, and Tix knows where I am. 'Tix? Serena? Angie?' I call out for them via mind link. 'Hey! Where are you located? Did you find them?' Tix is the first to answer. 'Yeah. I am in my old containment room. Room number 309.' 'Roger, we will be there in second. You okay?' Serena asks. 'Yeah...I have a lot to tell you guys when we get back to our HQ.' I say disheartened.

'Sounds like this is going to be a lot to cover.' Angie responds. 'Agreed.' Tix says next. I could feel Serena nod through the link.

"Um...not trying to make this situation worse or more uncomfortable than what it is...but, uh" Chase clears his throat, "You're naked." I glance down to see my bare curved body. I blush red and my eyes catches a white lab coat in the room the boys are in. Trevor makes a growl at Chase and Drake. "Keep your eyes to yourselves." Drake I could tell had been staring at the ceiling after Chase made the comment. "Tsk, Tsk, Alpha. We all see each other naked eventually." "Chase..." Trevor gives a warning. "Fine, Fine."

I chuckle as I put the coat on. "I am so glad you guys can still joke around while strapped to tables." Drake scoffs. "I for one would rather be killing the ones who put me here." "I second that notion" Trevor agrees. "Speaking of, did they do anything to you guys?" I ask curiously as I start to unstrap Trevor first. "They injected us with some elixir of sorts and said that we will find out if we have been accepted in a few short days. " Drake moves his neck around as if remember the pain of being given the shot.

I move to unstrap Drake next. "Why am I last to be unstrapped?!" Chase fusses. "Because you're Chase." We all say in unison. "Fuck you guys." We laugh and start to unstrap him as Serena's portal starts to open to the room and everyone walks in. "How did you know what it looks like in here?" I ask. "I saw through your eyes for a minute. I figured you were busy to give me a thought." She smirks. I blush. "I wasn't, I mean, I was..." Tix cuts me off by placing a hand on my shoulder. "No worries, kid.

We understand." "Why do I get the feeling you don't?" I say doubtfully. Angie walks by and see the table where Chase was strapped. "I can understand unstrapping the other two, but why did you unstrap him?" She points her thumb towards Chase. "Don't everyone hold back their feelings now on my account. Truly, it's so moving to hear how everyone feels." His head droops with a sarcastic look. Serena starts to walk towards Chase and he starts to go pale. "I mean...Serena....I didn't know you were here. How are you, darling?" She smirks evilly at him. "Do I need to conduct more exper- ahem..." she clears her throat, "tests on you Chase? Because, I know you saw my portal open for us to get in here." He laughs nervously, "OHHHH, that was you? I apologize...I was injected with this, uh, elixir...so it messed with my memory a little." She nods her head in disbelief. "Well, then I will have to fix that when we get back won't we?" I could see his spirit leave his body at this point. I couldn't help but feel bad for the guy and scared. What does she do to him that scares him so bad? "That means you both as well Drake and Trevor." Serena gives them a pointed look. This time they go pale and just nod reluctantly. I could feel in this moment they wanted to kill Chase now.

Serena opens the portal again for us to walk through to go back home. I keep thinking about the blonde man and Jessica's odd rejection she was going through. Before we make it through the portal, the man's voice comes through the speakers this time. "Enjoy your small reprieve, Shane. The Society now knows of your existence and soon your friends will be targeted if they are chosen. Our objective will soon be achieved...be prepared for war..." The man's voice cuts out again and we all feel anger rising in our chests. "Let's go. We got work to do." Trevor makes all of us go through the portal.

We are inside the meeting room, where we were discussing my existence and answering my questions. "We will come up with a strategy soon. Right now we will stay in the main wing rooms. Everyone get some rests. We will meet up tomorrow. The rest of the pack has decided to leave due to their Alpha being taken. I don't blame them...However...we can start again. I feel it's time I stopped relying on the old council pack anyway." Trevor shrugs. "We still want you as our Alpha." Drake chimes in.

We all nod in agreement. "If that is what you all agree. Then I shall remain so. I will allow anyone to try to be Alpha, if someone changes their mind." "No disagreements here chief." Chase starts to walk off before Serena freezes him in place, walks over, grabs him by the collar, and drags him into a portal to her lab. "I'll see you two in a bit." She points at Trevor and Drake. "Yes ma'am." And just like that...Chase is being tortured again. Trevor starts to make his way to his room when I grab his arm. "Hey...You wouldn't happen to know where my parents are...do you?" I ask sheepishly. "No...I didn't even know they were here." He says confused. I had forgotten to mention to him that Tix and the other two had saved them before. "Sorry, I didn't mention it before. Tix and the other girls saved them while I was making my way to you guys. I should've asked them." He sighs and rubs my head, "No worries, like I said before. I want to start my own pack. Making up and forgetting old mistakes is apart of starting anew. As long as they don't betray us. I am okay with them being here. However, I will have a close eye on them for awhile." His tone was serious. I could tell he doubted them still but at least he wasn't throwing them out. I nod and turn to make my way to my new room in the main wing. Trevor grabs my arm gently before I moved far. "Where are you

going?" he chuckles. "To...my room?" I ask confused. "Your room is with me." My face turns red. "When did I agree to that?!" He gives a little of a shocked look. "I figured since we were mates and..." I cut him off with my hand, "I told you I would accept you on my own terms. I care about you but I need to sort my feelings out. Sorry to say, but you aren't on the high end of my priorities right now." I could feel his wolf recoil from that last comment. "Well...I won't force you and you're right. There is a lot more going on right now...so, I'll leave you to it." I try to apologize but he was already out the room by that point. I could feel a horrible feeling in me. I didn't want to hurt his feelings but I don't think we need to be focusing on love right now. That's how a lot of couples die in horror movies. Oh...my...did I just reference me and Trevor as a couple? NO! I can't be focused on this right now! I slap my forehead with my palm.
