Chapter 60: Chapter 60
“Don’t press the doorbell. We want to surprise Zada. Open the door with the passcode.” Zahir said and Emily rolled her eyes.
"Oh, how brilliant, Zahir! Because I totally didn't know that pressing the doorbell might alert Zada to our presence. Thank you for that groundbreaking insight."
Zahir smirked. "You're welcome, Emily. Always here to educate you on the finer points of subtlety."
Zahir quickly entered the passcode when Emma shared it, and the door quietly clicked open.
"Wow, Zahir, I am amazed at your secret agent skills." Emily couldn't help but mutter sarcastically under her breath.
"Well, Emily, some of us have a natural talent for espionage. It's a gift." Zahir shot her a mock-innocent look.
As they stepped inside the apartment, Emily couldn't help but glance around, taking in their surroundings. The plan was to surprise Zada, and that meant tiptoeing around and avoiding any loud noises. Zahir led the way, moving stealthily toward the living room. Others followed, their silent footsteps betraying their intentions.
"Okay, Zahir, we are here. Now what? Should we jump out and yell 'Surprise!'?" Emily whispered, when they reached the doorway to the living room.
Zahir shot her an exasperated look.
"Oh, Emily, always the comedian. Let's just wait for the perfect moment, shall we?" Zahir asked sarcastically.
“Will you two please stop it? I am starting to get tired of this now.” Emil grumbled angrily.
As they stepped into the living room, Zahir’s face darkened seeing a men’s shirt lying on the floor, leading into Zada’s bedroom. Zian also noticed it and stepped forward standing next to Zahir and staring at the piece of clothing with a dark face.
Wheels started turning in their head and they didn’t like what their brain was trying to convey to them.
Emily and Emma looked alarmed and shot a look at each other. They both know Zada’s relationship with Liam. They didn’t know Liam would be spending the night with Zada. As far as they knew, they hadn’t started that aspect of their relationship yet.
Emil was plain confused.
Without another word, Zahir and Zian barged into their sister’s bedroom and the sight that welcomed them gave them chills.
******
Liam pulled the blanket over themselves and Zada snuggled into his sides, her body still thrumming with the sensations she encountered for the very first time in her life.
They heard some sound coming from the living room and Zada tense.
“Oh god! I think Emily and Emma returned. What if they find us like this?” Zada asked, sitting upright and keeping the blanket close to her bosom.
Before either of them could take a step, the door burst open.
Zahir and Zian stood there, with eyes wide open in shock.
“What the hell!”
The bedroom door burst open, and Zahir and Zian stood there, their expressions a mix of shock, disbelief, and outrage. Liam and Zada, tangled in the bedsheets and still flushed from their intimate encounter, stared back at the twins, feeling utterly exposed and caught off guard.
Zahir was the first to find his voice, his anger palpable.
"What the hell is going on here?" His eyes darted from Liam to Zada, his protective older brother instincts kicking in.
Zian, equally stunned, muttered in disbelief, "I can't believe this."
“You bast*rd.” Zahir charged towards Liam, but was immediately pulled back by Emily.
“Stay out of this, Emily.” Zahir said angrily.
“Wait in the living room.” Emily said in a serious tone and pushed Zahir out of the bedroom. Emil pulled Zian out.
“Get dressed and come out, you two.” Emily said and walked out of the bedroom.
Zahir and Zian were seething with anger, feeling a mixture of protectiveness and betrayal over what they had seen. They had always been overprotective of their sister, and now, seeing her in such an intimate situation, that too with their best friend, had sent their emotions into overdrive.
Double betrayal!
In the living room, with Liam sitting nervously on the couch and the rest of their friends and looking on in concern, Zahir finally couldn't contain his fury any longer. His voice was icy as he addressed Liam.
"You have got some nerve, coming into our sister's life like this, touching her like that."
"You need to explain yourself, right now." Zian, standing beside his brother, added with a deadly calm.
Liam, his face pale and his heart pounding, knew he had to tread carefully.
"I care about Zada a lot, and she cares about me. We are in a serious relationship."
Zahir's nostrils flared, and his voice rose with anger.
"Serious relationship? Do you have any idea what you have done to our trust? How you have violated our sister's privacy?"
"You think you can just waltz in here and do whatever you want with Zada? You are going to answer for this." Zian stepped closer to Liam, his eyes narrowing.
Liam, feeling cornered, stood up, his own frustration beginning to boil over.
"I love Zada, and we didn't plan for any of you to walk in like that.."
“Love? Funny hearing that from a certified playboy like you.” Zahir said sarcastically.
“We love each other.” Liam repeated his words.
Zahir, unable to contain his rage any longer, lunged at Liam, throwing a punch. Liam barely had time to react, and the two of them tumbled to the floor.. Zian joined the fray, trying to pull Zahir off Liam, but it quickly turned into a chaotic brawl.
Amidst the commotion, Emil rushed forward, trying to break up the fight, but it was proving to be a challenge. The others in the room were shouting, some trying to intervene, and others just watching in shock.
Zada, who had been in her dressing room, heard the commotion and ran into the living room, horrified by the scene unfolding before her.
"Stop it, please! This is ridiculous!"
Finally, with a burst of strength, Zian managed to pull Zahir away from Liam, and Emily and Emil helped restrain Zahir while Liam got up, nursing a bruise on his cheek.
Panting heavily, Zahir glared at Liam.
"You stay away from our sister, or you will regret it."
"You don't get to dictate who Zada can be with." Liam, equally furious, responded.
Zada, tears in her eyes, stepped between them, her voice trembling.
“I love him..” She told her brothers with tears streaming down her cheeks.
Zahir and Zian softened seeing the desperate look on her face, but they couldn’t compromise here. They know Liam. They have known him for the past two years. Girls are interchangeable for him. He is a certified playboy and there is no way they would let someone like Liam anywhere near their sister.
“It’s either us or him, Zada. it’s your choice.” Zahir said, hardening his heart to his sister’s tears.
“What the f*ck! Are you giving her an ultimatum?” Liam asked in disbelief.
“This is between us and our sister, Frederick. Better stay out of it.” Zahir said in a threatening tone, earning an exasperated look in return.
“Don’t you have anything to say, Zian? You are just going to stay silent to the rubbish he is sprouting?” Liam asked Zian and Zian shot an angry look at Liam.
“Anything to get you away from our sister.” Zian said.
“Consider it an ultimatum or anything you wish it to be, Zada. But from now on, it is going to be either him or us.”
