Chapter 20: Chapter 20
"Are you telling me that you are not??" Liam asked in disbelief.
"What I am telling you is that it's none of your business," she said huffing and walking away.
After a while of ignorance, Liam was literally begging for attention.
"Come on Mirrie. Stop giving me the silent treatment." Liam begged.
Silence!
"You are not supposed to stay angry on first dates." Liam tried once again.
Silence!
"Okay. What should I do to make it up to you?"
Silence!
He pulled her arms and turned her around to face him.
"I am sorry, Zada. I did that for fun. I didn't think you would be this offended. Please forgive me," he said with his best puppy eyes.
Zada laughed out loud and pulled his cheeks.
"Look at you. How cute" Zada gushed.
"You were not angry?? You were pretending??" He asked, narrowing his eyes at her.
"Oh shit Sherlocks!!"
Finally having gone around the carnival ground playing games and going on rides ,they finally stopped near the ferris wheel.
"Wow. My favourite." Zada said excitedly.
"Then what are we waiting for?" He said and intertwined his fingers with hers and pulled her towards the counter.
Zada looked down at their joined hands and looked up to see Liam staring at her.
"Come," he said gruffly.
They sat opposite each other in their cabin and it started moving.
Once they reached the top, the view was amazing.
"You know how ferris wheel symbolises life. It suggests that you are going around in circles in your waking life. A ferris wheel represents something exciting or enjoyable in your waking hours ,however it isn't consistent. There are regular pauses in the pleasurable experience." Zada said, staring out into the amazing view.
"Mirrie, that went right over my head." Liam said, causing her to chuckle.
"Never mind!"
"That was kind of a philosophical thought."
"Something I inherited from my father," she said.
With the ferris wheel ride, the night came to an end for them.
"Oh God!! It's ten already. The gate closes at ten. It will take half an hour to reach the hostel. How will I get in?" Zada asked panicking.
"Hey, my bed is King sized. We both can fit in there easily," Liam said cheekily earning a glare from Zada.
"Okay. Relax. I was kidding. I have promised I will take care of this Mirrie. Why fear when your knight in shining armour is here?"
Thirty minutes later they reached the hostel.
Liam took out his phone and dialled a number.
"Heyy Sammy. We have reached," Liam said and the person on the other side must have said something to which Liam said okay and hung up.
"Who is Sammy??" She asked, frowning.
Did he just call one of his many girlfriends to sneak her in.
"Jealous babe??" Liam asked, smirking.
"In your dreams," she said scoffing.
"There are a lot more things that happen in my dreams, Mirrie."
"Shut up," she said her cheeks flaming at his insinuation.
"Why are you blushing?? Oh my god!! Did you think I am having dirty dreams Mirrie??" He asked with a mock horror.
"Get lost, Fredrick."
Liam laughed out loud.
It was so much fun riling her up.
They turned the corner and reached where Sammy had asked him to come.
The night was over and he simply didn't have the heart to let her go.
He opened his mouth to say something but was cut off.
"Liam," they heard a voice calling out from the other side of the wall.
"Sammy. We are here. How to get her in??" He asked.
"You have to climb the wall. This is the only place where you can jump in without getting hurt." Sammy said and Zada looked at him in horror.
"What do you mean by jumping the wall? The wall is so high."
"That's what I am for Mirrie," he said and parked his motorcycle close to the wall.
He looked around to make sure there were no people around watching them.
He stepped on his bike seat and swiftly climbed the wall.
He sat on the wall and asked her to get on the bike like he did.
He helped her on the wall.
"You want me to jump down?? I am going to kill you before I die, Fredrick." Zada said glaring at him.
Without responding Liam jumped down.
"What the hell. Why did you jump? It's a girls hostel idiot." Zada whispered and yelled at him.
"Do you have any idea on how many boys spend their nights in this girls hostel??" He asked, rolling his eyes.
"Now jump down, Mirrie."
"What?? Are you crazy??"
"I will not let you fall, Mirrie," he said looking straight into her eyes and they shared a small eyelock.
"Well well. I will wait there near the big tree. Call me once you guys are finished." Sammy said and walked out of their sight giving them privacy to say their goodbyes.
Zada closed her eyes and jumped down placing her trust on Liam and he caught her right before she hit the ground.
He gently brought her down to the ground.
Zada opened her eyes to see him starting at her.
"I loved every moment I spent with you today, Mirrie," he said huskily.
Zada could feel the hair behind her neck raising.
She could feel it all over. Goosebumps!
She could feel her lips go dry and licked her lips in an attempt to wet them.
Liam followed the movement intensely and his eyes darkened.
God!! He wants to kiss her! He so wanted to kiss her.
Never had he felt this kind of urge before.
He had kissed multiple times before. But he had never had this all consuming urge to do that before.
Zada is different.
He inched closer, their lips a breath apart.
He saw her closing her eyes instinctively.
He leaned forward and pressed a light kiss at the corner of her mouth.
"Goodnight, Mirrie," he whispered and she shot her eyes open.
He so wanted to kiss her, but at the same time he doesn't want to scare her away.
