Chapter 24: Chapter 24

PURPOSE

“Im so proud of you Caleb.” his father smiled and hugged his son.

“It's quite unbelievable, I wonder why Mr. Harry decided to leave me his wealth.” Caleb placed his palms on his forehead.

“Maybe he wanted to repent for all his wrong, you are his daughter's son after all.”

“You are my parents and that's the truth I know.”

His parents looked at each other “thank you Caleb.” his mother managed to speak

“I should be thanking you and dad for loving me and giving me a home.” eyes narrowing “I guess I should also thank Harry for selecting you guys as my parents.”

“We are grateful to have you in our lives and that's all that matters.” pinching his nose, Caleb's father continued “what about Sophie and her family.”

“You can divorce her and leave her awful family, though Sophie and her parents are good people.'' his mother interjected, Fernandez had humiliated her son enough.

“Hmmm, I have a plan to get back at them. Mr. Clement, grandfather's lawyer, has already proved my innocence concerning Zoey's accusation. “

“When was that, the will was read just last week.”

“Harry found out through his lawyers when they checked with Harvard and he asked them to take over the case. The lecturer was fired at once and Zoey lost her job at Procter and gamble.”

“That is a fair judgment to me, they nearly ruined you.” his mother shook her head in disbelief, “she stooped too low”

“Have you been reinstated?”

“Yes, the exams will start next month and once I pass, I will finally graduate..”

“The Lord be praised,”

“Amen,” Caleb and his father chorused.

Caleb asked his parents to sit down for an important discussion, he assured them that nothing was wrong but he wanted them to know of his decision to hide his new status from Fernandez. His mother insisted that he doesn't stay one more day in their house, but he assured her that he wanted to pay them with their coin, also he had promised to help Sophie become the heir of her grandparents' business.

“Sophie doesn't talk down at me, she isn't the most patient person but she isn't mean and full of herself. I just want to teach her uncle and his wife a lesson they would never forget.”

“If that's what you want to do, then it's fine by me” his father shrugged, leaning fully on the black velvet chair, he watched his son pace their small living room. Almost 25 years ago during the saddest and loneliest time in their life, they had found a little boy abandoned in front of the church, Sarah had held the child and the smile on her face shone brighter than ever, he had been worried because he didn't know if they were both capable of losing another child if the real mother appeared and asked for her son. Two weeks after and when no one came for him they had both officially adopted him, now he was all grown up and a billionaire. Fate had suddenly been kinder to this young son of whom destiny had connected to him and his wife.

“So how do you intend to carry out your plan, and are you not supposed to get acquainted with your staff?” his mother added.

“The company is in good hands, though I plan to visit the office every day so I can understand more about their business operations. I also plan on asking the manager for help in executing my plans concerning the Fernandez.”

“We will stand by you” his father rose to his feet and held out his hands to his wife

“I knew I could always count on you.” he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. "I have to go now,”

His hands tucked behind his back, his head tilted up and with a gait firm and precise. Caleb went home, he had a score to settle
