Chapter 318: Chapter 318

An Zhongbo thought that since An Yan liked Master Li’s cooking, he might as well invite him over. He couldn’t really bring himself to have food cooked only to Li Tianyao’s taste, could he?

Master Wang was speechless. Fine, fine, you’re the boss, you call the shots, he thought.

Ten minutes later, Master Li hurried over, smiling so widely his eyes were mere slits. "Mr. An," he said, "rest assured, I will do my utmost."

"Sir, the Young Miss has returned!"

With Old Xiao’s shout, An Zhongbo, An Yaoluo, and An Duxuan—the father and his two sons—all sprang into action. They stepped out from their respective rooms and, in the blink of an eye, were already outside the main gate!

An Yan arrived in Li Tianyao’s stretch limousine. Luolie had already gotten out of the passenger seat and was reaching to help open her door.

But An Duxuan waved him off. "I’ll do it! I’ll do it!"

Seeing the three of them vying to help, An Yan’s eyes immediately warmed.

She sniffled, controlling her emotions, then broke into a smile. "Dad, Big Brother, Second Brother, I brought Grandpa and my cousin back with me."

The An men—father and sons—were speechless. They knew Grandpa was Luo Zi’ang. But a cousin...?

Yan An got out of the car from the other side and walked around to face the three of them.

An Zhongbo doesn’t matter; he’s a stranger to me, she thought. But she looked at An Yaoluo and An Duxuan very carefully. One has eyes like my Little Aunt, the other has her mouth! Yes. That confirms it. These are my Little Aunt’s children.

Yan An picked up her phone!

An Duxuan’s lips twitched. "Where did you find this cousin? And you have time to play on your phone during a family reunion?"

Yan An was silent. She handed her phone to An Duxuan and An Yaoluo.

The screen read: "My name is Yan An. My Little Aunt was Yan Yuyan, who was also your mother, Yang Yu!"

An Duxuan was taken aback. He took her phone, switched the input method, and typed, "Can’t you speak?"

Yan An was silent again.

Taking back the phone with an indescribable expression, she typed quickly, "I can’t speak, but you should be able to, right?"

An Duxuan was speechless.

"AHEM! Of course, I can. I was just trying to be considerate of your feelings!"

"Well, thank you for that!" Yan An typed. Read complete versıon only at noᴠelfire.net

An Yaoluo nodded towards Yan An. "Since Little Sister has confirmed your identity, then you are our little sister."

While they were talking, An Zhongbo had wheeled himself over. He gripped Luo Zi’ang’s hand as Luo Zi’ang got out of the car. "Old Brother Luo, this time you can finally stay at our place for a good while, can’t you?"

Luo Zi’ang smiled. "Now that Yanyan has returned, of course, I can stay."

An Zhongbo laughed joyfully. "Let’s go! Home!"

An Yaoluo went to support Luo Zi’ang. "Grandpa Luo, please take it slow."

An Duxuan and Yan An flanked An Yan, supporting her as they followed behind.

Lu Feng, Lin Ling, and Luolie went next door.

The Wen Ya and Wen Ge sisters followed them into the An family home.

After everyone sat down in the living room, An Zhongbo finished his pleasantries with Luo Zi’ang. He then turned to An Yan and asked, "What about Li Tianyao? Did he head back next door?"

An Yan’s nose suddenly tingled.

She had thought she could face any question about Li Tianyao with indifference. Yet, with one question from her father, the pain in her heart surged like a tidal wave.

Tears began to stream uncontrollably.

An Zhongbo was startled. "What’s wrong?"

An Zhongbo pushed aside An Duxuan, who stood between him and An Yan. Distressed and unsure what to do, he asked, "Yanyan, don’t cry. Tell Dad what happened. Did something happen to Li Tianyao?"

An Yan shook her head, trying to hold back her tears, but she failed, and instead, they flowed even more fiercely.

"Li... Li Tianyao is gone."

An Zhongbo was bewildered.

An Yaoluo and An Duxuan were also stunned.

What did she mean, Li Tianyao was gone? Had he... died? No, no, that couldn’t be. If Li Tianyao had died, how could there be no news at all? Could it be that fellow doesn’t want Yanyan anymore?

An Zhongbo cautiously asked, "What do you mean, ’gone’?"

"He’s just gone to another place!"

That damned man! He’s abandoned Yanyan! An Duxuan shot to his feet. "You wait! I’ll go skin him alive and bring his hide back for you as a rug!" That bastard! What right does he have to abandon my sister, An Duxuan’s sister? Even if someone was getting dumped, it should be you dumping him!

An Yan quickly grabbed him. "That’s not what I meant, Second Brother!"

"Didn’t he abandon you?"

An Yan nodded. "No, it’s not that he abandoned me," she clarified. "He just had something he had to attend to, so he left. He might be gone for a long time—several months, or even years!"

An Yan’s tears once again escaped her control.

She hadn’t intended to cry so much. But in front of her father and brothers, she felt especially aggrieved. It was a strange feeling.

Old Master Luo watched An Yan cry with great interest, feeling not upset but rather relieved. The girl is finally showing some normal human emotion! Indeed, bringing her to Luocheng was the right decision.

An Zhongbo frowned. "What could be so important? Wait, that’s not right. Lu Feng and Lin Ling are with you, so Li Tianyao left alone?"

An Yan nodded. "Yes."

An Zhongbo’s mind raced. How am I supposed to comfort her?

An Zhongbo’s logic was simple: no matter what happened, his daughter couldn’t be harmed.

After a few minutes, he had an idea. "Yanyan," he began, "look. Lu Feng and Lin Ling couldn’t go with him, which means whatever he’s doing must be top secret."

"I heard from your second brother that besides being the head of the Li Family, Li Tianyao also seems to hold a special position at the national level."

"As the family of someone with such a special occupation, we need to learn to adjust."

"When he’s here, you two can be happy and sweet together. When he’s away on a mission, we’ll take good care of our home. Don’t you agree?"

An Yan nodded. "Yes."

An Zhongbo reached out to straighten her hair a bit. "Yanyan," he said gently, "even though Li Tianyao can’t be with you for now, you still have Dad, your brothers, Grandpa, and now your cousin too. There are so many of us here who can keep you company. You’re not alone, alright?"

She didn’t find her father’s words particularly moving, but her nose began to tingle again anyway.

"Tell Dad, how did you find your cousin?" An Zhongbo used the matter of Yan An to divert An Yan’s attention.

When he learned that Yan An had been exploited by wicked people who wanted to set a trap for An Yan, An Zhongbo was deeply pained. "Yan An, child," he said, "don’t worry. Although your Little Aunt is no longer with us, your Uncle-in-law is here, and this will be your home too. Just live here comfortably."

Yan An typed with a smile, "Thank you, Uncle-in-law!"

"We’re family; there’s no need for thanks between us. The room next to Yanyan’s is vacant. From now on, you’ll live there."

Yan An typed, "Okay." She nodded with a smile.

An Duxuan asked, "Cousin, what style of decoration do you like? I’ll contact some workers to come over."

Yan An shook her head and typed, "There’s no need to go to any trouble. I’m fine with any style of decoration."

Yan An really liked the atmosphere in this house. Her uncle-in-law was kind, her eldest male cousin was steady, her second male cousin was lively, and her youngest female cousin seemed to combine all virtues—smart, beautiful, alert, and even skilled in martial arts...

The sound of a car pulled up outside; someone else had arrived.
