Chapter 137: Chapter 137
The three of them were enjoying their time. The tent was up, and the barbecue grill was assembled. Everything was ready, except for the food.

[Although the scene looks nice and very leisurely, guys, did you forget this is a survival show?]
[I really want to see the director’s face! His promoted survival show has been turned into a camping show by the guests! HAHAHA...]
[These few are so useless. Are they all relying on Abei?]
[If Abei doesn’t come back today, are they planning to starve rather than find food themselves?]
[The two girls are one thing, but what sort of oddball is Fu Xiao? How can he shamelessly wait for others to feed him?]
[It’s past nine. Have these few only drunk a bit of water? True ’fairies’ only need water to live!]
Fu Xiao was energetically trying to charm Bai Zhi when he suddenly felt his phone vibrate. The production team didn’t allow phones, but he had still sneaked one in. This phone is my only means of contact with the higher-ups. It never leaves my side! What’s more, I came to this island with a mission!
Avoiding the drones, Fu Xiao opened it and took a glance. A message appeared: [Find a way to retrieve the thumb ring from An Yan’s neck!]
Fu Xiao’s expression immediately grew serious. He had noticed that thumb ring early on; it was always hanging around An Yan’s neck. How am I going to get it? Standing behind An Yan is none other than the formidable Lord Li Jiu! If I don’t get it, the person above surely won’t let me off lightly. Since that’s the case, I’ll have to make use of *that* incident...
Fu Xiao’s gaze turned fierce.
When he returned to the camp, Abei was already back. He had not only brought two pheasants and a wild rabbit but also two clues:
"Does this mean if we go north, we’ll find a boat on the beach?" Bai Zhi exclaimed, her face full of excitement. "Teacher Abei, you’re amazing!"
Abei said, "Although we have clues, the beach to the north is still far away. We must start by six o’clock tomorrow morning at the latest to possibly..."
"Then let’s leave at five!" Bai Zhi interrupted him. "You’re thinking six o’clock. If the other team also got this clue, they’ll definitely want to start even earlier. So, whoever leaves earlier has the advantage!"
"Alright, then we’ll start at five," Abei nodded. It was no problem for him, as long as the others could get up on time.
After looking at the clues, Abei began to prepare the ingredients. He had thought that everyone working together would speed things up, but those three were good for nothing except clapping and cheering; they didn’t help at all. Even plucking pheasant feathers became a big ordeal for them. The pheasant had its neck wrung and was deader than dead!
Miss Bai was overly cautious and frightened, as if the pheasant could come back to life at any moment and peck her. Then, once she was sure the pheasant was thoroughly dead, she had a burst of inspiration. "We can use the chicken feathers to make a few shuttlecocks and give them to friends as gifts!"
"Yeah, yeah," Jiang Xiaoze immediately agreed, and then the two of them busied themselves with the chicken feathers.
At some point, a Little Squirrel appeared out of nowhere, and Miss Bai, in a great display of kindness, insisted on feeding it chicken meat. They had originally thought of keeping any leftover food for breakfast the next day, but she ended up feeding it all to the squirrel!
By the time it was past midnight, they finally grew tired. As for Abei’s suggestion of taking turns keeping watch, Bai Zhi pretended not to hear.
Jiang Xiaoze meekly asked, "Do girls have to stand guard too?"
Abei had no choice but to change the rules. "Alright, Mr. Fu will keep watch until two o’clock, and I’ll take over for the rest of the night."
Fu Xiao nodded. This is just the right time for me to attend to my business.
Bai Zhi then spoke up. "That’s not fair. Girls shouldn’t be exempt from standing guard. How about this, Xiaoze? You go rest first. I’ll keep watch with Fu Xiao for the first half of the night, and you can keep watch with Teacher Abei for the second half. Is that okay?"
Abei wordlessly glanced at her. "Fine. Let’s do it that way."
I thought her suggestion might allow me an extra hour of sleep, but it made no difference in the end! Really, what was the point of her proposal?
After agreeing, Abei crawled into his own tent. He was truly exhausted. Managing these few people is really not as easy as doing it alone.
Lying in the tent, Abei took out his mobile phone. On the live stream, countless netizens were saying that he was bound to lose this time.
[One against three, huh! It’s normal for Teacher Abei to lose. If he still wins this, then I can only say Anan is too useless!]
[Sympathizing with Teacher Abei.]
[I’m somewhat envious of the three people with Teacher Abei; they really seem to be on vacation! And it’s an all-expenses-paid one too!]
Abei closed his phone. He propped his hands under his head and stared at the tent ceiling. Bai Zhi said that if we win the competition, she’ll help me negotiate that collaboration, but she seems to have no desire to try hard herself. Under these circumstances, it seems the only way to win is by taking some shortcuts. But this is a TV show; every word and action is monitored by cameras. What shortcuts could I possibly take?
As he was fretting, he suddenly heard the zipper of the tent next to his being carefully undone. Abei instinctively sat up and pressed his eye against the small window in his tent. In the dim light, Jiang Xiaoze, dressed in sportswear, tiptoed out of the campsite with her water bottle.
Abei looked up at the sky through the ventilation opening at the top of the tent. Not a single star from earlier could be seen. If things go as expected, it’ll start raining soon!
Jiang Xiaoze took Green Tail and hurried along the path they had taken during the day, heading towards An Yan’s campsite. To her surprise, halfway there, a sudden downpour began!
An Yan’s tents were solidly pitched, so even with the torrential rain, there wasn’t much to worry about. However, the sound of the downpour could mask many other noises, such as those made by Jiang Xiaoze as she snuck over with Green Tail.
The rain was heavy and the wind strong; she didn’t even have a raincoat. After reaching An Yan’s campsite, she hid behind their tents, worried about being spotted by drones. She observed for a while, ensuring no green lights from active drones were visible, before cautiously sticking her head out and reaching for the zipper on An Yan’s tent.
Just then, the Little Squirrel popped out from nowhere and stood right in front of her. Panicked, Jiang Xiaoze slapped the Little Squirrel away. The Little Squirrel tumbled in the rain and scampered off somewhere.
Jiang Xiaoze, trying to control her frantic heartbeat, threw Green Tail into An Yan’s tent and hurried back. On the way, she fell several times because she was running too fast.
She barely made it back to her own campsite, only to discover that the tent they had snatched from An Yan was leaking. Water was pouring in through a tear, rendering the tent unusable. Jiang Xiaoze quickly went to the other tent.
Only Bai Zhi was inside.
Seeing Jiang Xiaoze return, Bai Zhi asked without changing her expression, "Where did you just go?"
