Chapter 45: Chapter 45
Ariana's POV
I had no idea where Eric lives but I just feel he'll be at his coven, it was the place he had taken me to when he kidnapped me, although, I was unconscious when I was taken there but when I had opened my eyes, it felt as if I've been there before, although, I couldn't remember when, it was just a feeling. My gaze scanned my environment, it was all bushes, and not a single building could be seen, it was quiet except for the occasional chirping of the birds, it felt kind of eerie and I wondered if I was actually on the right track, I was just following my gut feeling, the sun was still high in the sky, hopefully, I would see the place before sunset and then, I'll convince him to wake up my dad and then I'll ask for my dad's forgiveness, he'll forgive me and everything will be fine, we'll live as father and daughter and have a sweet relationship. I had walked five kilometers when I first heard the sound, at first, I thought it was my imagination but I soon heard it again, the sound of someone chanting, I followed the sound and showed up at where I was looking for, my gaze scanned the vicinity, no one was outside, the voice was coming from the room directly opposite to where I was standing, "hello! Who's there?" I called out walking towards the room, I didn't hear a sound again, it was suddenly eerily quiet, "Eric, is that you?" Still no answer, I stood by the door of the room and peeped inside and to my amazement, no one was there, I could have sworn the sound was coming from right here, I was contemplating entering inside when I felt a hand gripped my shoulder, I screamed as I was whirled around, "what are you doing here?"
"Eric, you scared me" his gaze narrowed on me, "I asked you a question, what are you doing here?" It seems like he was in no mood for pleasantries, well, I was in no mood for it either, "please, I need your help" he scoffed, "wow, the great Ariana needs my help, tell me, how did you know where to find me? How did you know this place? You were unconscious the last time you were brought here"
"I don't know how I get to know, I just know, I just felt a force propelling me down here"
"So, are you now ready to accept who you really are?"
"What, no! I mean, not yet" he gave me a withering glare, "then you have no business being here, just leave from here"
"I came here to sick your help, my father is dead, you're a wizard, right? You can..."
He advanced towards me speedingly and I unconsciously moved backward, "I can do nothing" he bit out and I folded my hands in a pleading manner, "please Eric, don't do this, please bring my father back to me"
He turned away from me and started walking away, "do not walk away from me Eric, you claimed you're a wizard, use your magic and do something, then perhaps, I'll start believing your every word" he paused and slowly turned, "I'll suggest you use that energy to avenge your mother, your father died still mourning his beloved, perhaps, they would be able to rest in peace if you avenge her"
"What do you mean by that? He got closer and slowly trailed his hand over my cheeks, tucking a strand of hair at the back of my ears, " sweetheart, when you're ready to accept who you are and do the needful, you know where to find me, as of now, I'd suggest you go and bury your father, now leave from here"
"No!" I gasped, trying to grab him in desperation, "since you don't wish to go, I'll make you leave" he waved his hand over my head and the last thing I remembered was the gust of wind that appeared.
When I opened my eyes, I was lying in front of my house and Dylan was standing above me, I quickly sat up, how did I get here? Where's Eric?
"Are you okay?" Dylan squat in front of me, looking concerned
"What happened? How am I here?"
His gaze looked puzzled, "I searched for you in the hospital, when I didn't find you, I decided to check your house and when I got here, I met you lying here" I stood up and staggered a little but Dylan was quick to steady me, Eric must have done something that brought me here, how could he not want to wake up my dad? It finally dawn on me heavily that my dad is no more, I'll never see him again, "dad!" I screamed at top of my voice and fell but Dylan caught me before I could reach the ground, "shush! Baby, you'll be alright" I moved out of his embrace for a moment, staring deep into his eyes, tears dropped from the corner of my eyes, "my dad is dead Dylan, he's dead and it's all my fault, I was such a bad daughter, it's all my fault" my voice was already hoarse and raw from crying so much, he shook his head and took my cheeks into his palms, "you're not responsible for your father's death, you can never hurt a soul, please do not blame yourself" crying softly, I rested my head on his shoulder while he pats my back.
