Chapter 25: Chapter 25
It has been two days since she and Jared finally aired their feelings to each other and in usual royalty form, their days were busy with only few times for stolen kisses and a gentle caress but their nights were for them. And although Alexa loved to spend her nights in her husband arms, she longed to spend the daytime with him too and Alexa being her usual self, decided not to wait until things were under control because she was impatient that way but rather to fix something of that sort into their schedules.
"Alexa, we are really busy this period." Jared reminded Alexa who shrugged.
"I know but nothing should prevent us from having quality time together, I want to spend time with you during the day." Alexa replied with a whining tone, she turned to face her husband and saw his eyes shinning with intent. "The joke you are about to make will annoy me. Swallow it." She ordered.
"Yes ma'am." Jared responded.
"If only you were this obedient. We would be looking at our schedules and be done fixing the outing in it by now." Alexa glared at Jared who grinned at her. "You make it seem as if I am the only one who wants to spend time with you?"
Jared frowned in mock concentration. "Obviously you are the only one who wants to spend time with me why would I want to spend time with myself."
Alexa dropped the paper that was in her hands and chased after Jared who quickly placed an obstacle between him and his wife whole laughing because he knew Alexa in that moment if she could get her hands on him would strangle him. He was grateful that his relationship with his wife remained the same after they confessed their feelings to each other. In fact their plays increased and became more fulfilling. Now he experience what Ken and Annabelle have and his own was unique in a way that tailored him prefectly, he would not have changed it for anything in the world.
"I love you Alexa." Jared said simply as Alexa frown faded away and she straightened while eyeing him in distrust.
"You are not saying that just to get in my nerves the special way that you do, are you?" Alexa asked.
"All I said was I love you, nothing extra but I am glad that it is you though." Jared explained and then moved closer to Alexa so he could tuck her in his arms and then kiss her hair.
"You are acting clingy?" Alexa whispered and Jared chuckled.
"I will accept that because it is true. The reason why I did not want us to schedule something during the day is that, I believe once I get used to having you around during daytime, I would never want to let you go no matter what or where we have to be separately, I can still help myself because I have set my mind to seeing you only at night, so if you know that you do not want to be seeing me everyday, do not set another time together for us. One is my limit." Jared explained, his arms wrapped around Alexa's waist as he spined her to look at him. "In fact you coming here to specifically look for me when if is day light is enough to make me want you around every single time."
Alexa held back her moan when Jared started to trail kisses on her neck like he was starved of her. "Does this mean that we can schedule our date?" Alexa asked.
"Anything you want." Jared stated as he backed Alexa to a wall but she escaped his hold.
"Thank you for the affirmation and as for that, no time for it yet, not when you have the council meeting with my father in less than thirty minutes. I would arrange with your steward before leaving."
"What about your maid Betty. I have not been seeing her?" Jared frowned, wondering why the princess has to be the one to arrange her schedule
"She has been busy this period. I think she is close to marriage and she sees me as just a boss that she refused to tell the details of her man to." Alexa pouted.
"Maybe she does not see you as that kind of boss but rather she see you as you are. The kind of girl who does not have patience for that sort of thing." Jared answered and when Alexa shook her head, he went to sit down..
"No, it is stranger than that. After all I asked of it. She blush when she refer to where she goes, there are times when she unknowingly put his name on her sentence but for her to tell me about him, she clams up like no man's business." Alexa explained.
"What do you want to do about it?" Jared asked his wife who sighed.
"I do not have a choice but leave her be. Once my mother is better, I would tie her to a chair and ensure she tell me every single detail about him and after I am done carrying out an investigation to ensure that he is a good match for my Betty, I would give them my blessings." Alexa explained.
"And you see this as not having a choice?" Jared asked. Alexa looked at him in confusion before nodding in an obvious manner then Jared laughed.
"You my dear will never be boring." Jared replied as he kissed her.

Alexa watched as Betty moved around her room, dancing and humming to herself as she prepared the nightgown which she was supposed to wear.
"Betty, you keep making me curious and I do not like when I cannot do anything about it. What is going on with you?" Alexa asked Betty who froze.
"Nothing, I am just as I usually am." Betty replied while Alexa snorted.
"And there is a pink elephant in the room that just appeared and we are talking about it." Alexa returned and when Betty tried to look around. Alexa shook her head at Betty. "In other words I am saying that you are lying."
"I wish I could tell you my princess but he said not to say anything. He is shy and very manly and..." Betty sighed as she sat down with a dreamy look in her eyes.
Alexa wanted to ask more on that statement that she shouldn't not tell her but she knew Betty would clam up. It seems like she was going to fast forward that chair tying she told Jared about. Maybe she would do it after her outing with Jared.
"Okay. I need you to prepare a basket for tomorrow by noon. You see me and Jared will be having an outing tomorrow down by the meadows and I want no one but us to be present then." Alexa stated. Betty nodded and smiled.
It would be nice if she and John went for an outing too at that time. It would be romantic, she would bring it up with John.

"Can we please go for an outing? We cannot use the meadows of course since that will be where Princess Alexa and prince Jared will be and they want to be alone so we can actually go to the docks and maybe fish or something." Betty started as Flynn turned to look at her.
"An outing... What brought about this thought?' Flynn asked as Betty shrugged.
"The princess is going on one tomorrow so I will be free to do what I want and I want to spend the time with you." Betty kissed Flynn lips as he smiled even though all he wanted was to snap her neck but then again, he was already tired of Betty and the liberties she took all because of the fact that they were dating or so she thought.
"Hmm, it seems like a good idea. But where is the princess going and why will you not follow her?" Flynn asked, adding the last part under the guise to make Betty think that she was the reason why he was asking.
"Because she wants privacy with her husband. They would be going to the meadows and since princess Alexa is so keen on privacy that means no guards, maids or help of any kind. She is probably going to make Jared carry all the things they need for the outing." Betty sighed before she perked up. "So back to us."
"Around what time tomorrow?" Flynn asked, his mind already formulating something sinister.
"Noon, why?" Betty asked.
"Because that would be when you are free." Flynn smiled at Betty. "However I am sorry but I will not be free then, how about we visit the docks but next tomorrow?"
Betty blushed. "I cannot keep taking excuses, even if princess Alexa would allow me, I have a feeling that prince Jared would soon have a talk with me about how I am leaving his wife alone most of the time. He is very protective of her." Alexa smiled.
"Please, it will be the last one I will ask of you to take for a long time. I promise I would try and keep myself from always wanting you close until whenever you are free." Flynn begged and Betty smiled before nodding her approval.
Good, that time Betty was hoping for, Flynn knew it was not coming because he was going to kill Betty and dispose her body on that docks outing she wanted. Tying her body with a stone will make it sink and by the time she surfaced, nobody would be able to recognize her or him for that matter since with her death the John character he had taken on will die too.

Alexa sighed when she saw the guards surrounding the two horses she had planned. Somehow these people did not get the memo that she was going alone with her husband and no one else.
"No guards are allowed on this trip." Alexa stated as she walked towards the horses. "Thank you for wanting to protect your royals but your services are not needed."
"Actually they are." Jared answered behind Alexa, Alexa turned to look at her husband, wondering what he was up to. "I heard you planned a meadows picnic and while the idea is nice, I thought that maybe we would do something different. Tell me do you know how to fish?"
"I am a princess not a fisherwoman." Alexa rolled her eyes.
"Of course you are but do you know the process?"
"No." Alexa answered grudgingly.
"I heard the docks are close by and I wanted you to come fishing with me. I would assure you that this outing will be even more pleasant and since I planned it, it will be the first outing of mine we both would go to." Jared tucks in Alexa hair.
"And the people there, how do you plan to be making it secluded when we will be in a busy port?" Alexa demanded and Jared smiled.
"That is what the guards are for. Come on Alexa, we will share a horse since horses are easily spooked by water." Jared said and for the first thirty minutes, he listened to Alexa grumbles and just when she started to enjoy herself, he felt the air around them change.
"Be on your guard." The said to the warrior who was yawning as he walked besides Jared and not a second before Jared could finish his words. He felt the thang of an arrow being released, he immediately pushed Alexa off the horse, an unconscious reflex and then he groaned when the arrow sank into his shoulder, he fell from the horse too, momentarily everywhere was silent then before everything burst into chaos. Alexa knelt by his side, her panicked screams rented the air just as her hands started shaking Jared.
He hears shouts of protect the princess and saw the disarray of their guard force. He tried to sit up but he groans and the hand which he was trying to use was connected to the shoulder that still had an arrow sticking out of and the hand skidded away as he fell back and before Alexa could hold on to him, his head hit the ground and he became unconscious.
