Chapter 21: Chapter 21
Jared set Alexa on the group suddenly and although he was tempted to leave her even before she gets her bearing as her eyes turned her, he just could not be that wicked to a lady whom he had a soft spot for.
"I will kill you for that." Alexa moaned, trying to stop her eyes from spinning around or the place she was to stop moving even though she was not, she did not know which one was happening.
"Your stubbornness did that to you. certainly not me and you are aware of that fact." Jared returned, knowing Alexa would like to glare at him but she did not have the strength to, not whole her eyes were still spinning and Jared could say he warned her not to move around too much on his shoulder but as usual Alexa does what Alexa wants even to the detriment of herself.
"What do you want?" Alexa asked Jared even as she regained her balance.
Jared feeling of hurt increased, she did not want to spend even a minute longer in his presence that even as she is feeling dizzy she still wanted to get to the point. "I apologise Alexa, countless number of times but you refused to listen. You know what happened and still you refused to listen or change your mind. I do not know what I have to do to make you look at me the way you used to before and now, it is even more crucial you look at me that way since Flynn wants to seperate us..."
"I am not ready to give birth to a child." Alexa cuts in, she was not ready to lay with Jared too but it was not because of Jared, she just was not ready to lay down with a man and she did not think that she would ever be ready.
"You do not have to be ready to give birth to a child... I will not ask you to have a child when you do not want one, no matter what is going on." Jared returned.
"I am also not ready to forgive you just yet." Alexa added.
Jared breathed out a sigh of impatience. "That I am not willing to let go of. I have told you the truth and somewhere inside you, I know that you do believe that what I am telling you is the truth. What I do not understand is why you are refusing to just let go..."
"Because whether it was true or not, you were in that situation and it hurt me. You have the power to hurt me and I refuse to let you continue to have that power." Alexa replied.
"But I did not do anything." Jared defended himself. "It is strange for you to be mad at me because of an action I never did even though it hurt you, like you dreamt about me and it left you in a bad mood and you woke up to be angry with me over the action I did in your dream. This anger of yours is just as silly as the scenerio I just explained."
Alexa sighed. "I am not ready to deal with this yet Jared..."
"I guess that is where we will have a problem, you have no choice but to deal with it now Alexa." Alexa face turned into a dark cloud. "Flynn is waiting to have you. You think that I am so bad. Flynn will not listen about the fact that you are not ready, nor will he let that bother him, he is going to get you with child even against your wishes just because he wants to solidify his claim on you and then he is going to leave you as soon as you confirm that you are with a child and go out to get a mistress."
Alexa sighed. "Why do you hate Flynn so much?"
"Because him and his sister were cut from the same cloth. Flynn is even laxed now compare to what his sister did. That is why you think of him slightly of being good." Jared returned.
Alexa sighed. "Fine, let us have a wager."
Jared perked up. "A fist fight between the two of us. The winner wish will prevail in this issue."
"And your wish is for us to waste the time that we do not have correct?" Jared stated and Alexa rolled her eyes.
"Accept and we go and have the fight right now or decline and I go ahead with my duties and do them far away from you."
Jared sighed. "I accept, at least I am certain that this will be an easy victory."
"Really?" Alexa smirked. "Did I forget to mention that you will be blindfolded?"
Jared mouth popped open at Alexa who moved along the hallways with a smile and extra spring on her steps. She was at a door when she turned back to look at him. "Are you just going to stare at me with your mouth open or are you going to follow me?" Alexa asked.
Jared moved. "That condition is not fair."
"You should not be complaining, after all I am not the one who did not recognize my partner in the dark. This is just going to help you understand me better since if you can catch and subdue me, I am yours. It's like a fun game." Alexa explained with a smile.
"A game which I do not want to play with you. At least not when real life is balanced on it." Jared answered, directly behind his wife as she continued her trek to the courtyard although Jared noticed, it was not one of the larger ones she was going, in fact they were moving in another direction that was opposite of where trainings usually take place.
"Come on, what is life without a little stake." Alexa joked and when she glance at Jared's face, his expression was comical enough to make her laugh a full belly laugh, when she could straighten again, still chuckling to herself. She looked at Jared who was staring at her with a dazed expression.
"What? Is something on my face?" She asked with a frown.
"Nothing. You just look extremely beautiful when you laugh." Jared said silently. If he still could have the chance to be Alexa's husband, he wanted to make her laugh throughout her life.
This was really different from how he came into the castle. Just six months and his life has been turned upside down. He now recognized when things started to go out of hand. When he started pretending with Alexa, his deductions were the pretense felt so real and he wanted it to be real that he could not help but grow attached to Alexa and the cause of the marriage was also another reason his feelings grew. He liked a challenge and the fact that his marriage came with one made it all the more sweeter for him.
And though he liked a challenge, he did not like the fact that this current issue with Flynn could be enough that he would lose his wife. Loosing Alexa was not in his plans for the next couple of years. Not when she made he laugh and smile and completely turned his attention away from Arianna even when she was in front of him by doing nothing but being herself. Jared also knew that he respected his wife and that was another reason why he still felt guilty over the incident he had no control over and he still thought that he cheated on his wife even though the queen has assured him over and over again that he did not cheat on her daughter.
Alexa turned to look at him with a smile as she removed the band which she used to keep her hair out of her face. "At least I have levelled the field a little. I would be disturbed by my hair that would be entering my eyes so now we are both not uncomfortable." Alexa smiled, looking proud of herself.
In that moment, Jared felt the intense need to kiss her and bruise her lips with his kisses, he needed to win so that he could regain that right once more and this time, he really would not focus on the kingdom alone, he would also focus on his wife.
With a sigh, he caught the material that Alexa let the wind float to his side and then he tied his eyes and although it was tight, he still could see some shapes. Maybe he could trick Alexa but before he could proceed to call for the fight to begin. Alexa handed him another scrap like the one over his eyes.
"I have played with my head bands before. I know how they are. This one would make it darker, just the way I wanted it to be." Alexa patted her husband's chest hen moved out of his grip. She watched him as he tied the other strip of clothing over his eyes and then she smiled. The major reason why she asked for this little bet was so that she would hit him, that would go a long way to relieving her anger towards him.
"Now we can start." Alexa said as she quickly moved away from the direction she was when she said the words and as quietly as possible. She was right to move because Jared quickly ran towards that direction and she held her giggle when he tried to grip innocent air.
She watched Jared as he moved around, wondering where she was and when she was tried of waiting. She crept up to him and have him a punch on his cheek before dancing out of reach again.
Jared rubbed his throbbing cheek. Now he understood why. She wanted revenge on him.
"Do you not think that it is a little childish to get your revenge through this means?" Jared asked and when Alexa did not respond, he became silent as he listened to the sounds around him.
He felt her creep closer and with a sudden hand stretch towards the direction he felt her coming from, she gave a cry as the hit connected and the went backwards away from him again.
Not like it would have changed Jared mind because the second she had cried out, he realized that he was more disadvantaged than her because he would not want to hit her but she had plans on beating him senselessly.
The next couple of minutes was spent between Jared waiting for Alexa to attack and silently receiving the punishment she dealt out and when she grew sloppy with her movements just like he knew she would, the net time she gave a frontal attack, he gripped her hand and swiped her legs from under her and when she fell, he fell with her, keeping her pinned to the ground with his body.
"I win." He whispered into her ear before he ran his nose along her throat but she was quiet. Jared kissed Alexa throat and there he found her pulse beating wildly even though, she was not making a move.
When he ripped his blindfold off, he saw tears in her eyes as she remain frozen beneath him.
"Alexa." He called out in a panic but she was still in shock. Jared tried to lift her into his arms so he could go for help but that's as when she exploded on him. Scratching him and crying while screaming.
Jared was in shock at the scene before him, wondering what he had done to Alexa to warrant this emotional outburst.
"Calm down." Jared kept his voice low, trying to reach Alexa in her head because her pupils were dilated. "I am just trying to help you."
"Let me be. Please." Alexa sobbed as Jared forcibly embraced her. Keeping her locked in a position where she could no longer harm him and more importantly, harm herself.
Jared soothed her, while she cried waiting patiently for her to regain herself. Apparently there was more to Alexa than what meets the eye.
