"Is he among them?" Seeing the sorrow behind the wariness and rage that filled Eren's eyes, Sara couldn't help but lower her eyes apologetically before nodding, Zaman was with Kalan and the other God indeeed, and the three of them were right outside the castle in the outskirts of the king's forest, their auras were sensible and clear for her but not to Eren, which only meant that they were waiting for her for some reason without wanting to alarm the demons.

The question was, why?

What did they want?

"I don't know about Ebdi, and Jo..I mean Zaman's intentions are still not clear, but if Kalan is here, I can only think of trouble, I shall call for backup..." Eren said as he buttoned his shirt hurriedly before walking towards the door, hoping that his fair lady would agree to stay in the castle until he figures out what the God's Intentions were, but a single look at her determined face made him more certain of how futile it was to ask.

"If they wanted to attack they would have done it already, Eren, I don't believe they are here for a fight, their cores and auras are rather calm and stable, plus, if they really wanted to steer trouble, they wouldn't hesitate considering how strong they are, no back up can stop them..."

"Still, it can slow or distract them, backup is of no harm to us,my shadow demons will be there in fifteen minutes, circling the bastards and securing the area..." As he started to mind link his strongests soldiers, Eren was stopped by the loving yet firm fingers circling each side of his face...

"Eren, don't forget it is Henry and Rima's wedding, I know you didn't miss the still existing animosity nor are you delusional enough to believe it would just fade away with a magical wedding and we will all live happily ever after, together..." Taking a deep breath, Sara continued with her explanations, knowing very well he was not going to like the outcome of it.

"A herd of shadow demons circling the castle while it is the royal wedding, how do you think it would look to all those people in there, besides, we both know we are the only ones who can face the Gods, let us not send the soldiers to certain death, especially when the Gods didn't show any signs of attack, if anything, I am almost certain that they are here to merely talk..."

"Talk?" Eren asked with a sardonic smile and mocking expressions, "Yeah right, and maybe congratulate the bride and groom and wish them everlasting happiness!"

"Eren!"

"No, Sara! You need to stop being this nonsensical, they are our enemies, but it seems that you keep on forgetting about that and I can't even comprehend how, was one conversation that sufficient to lure you into believing them? Or did you have the same beliefs as them all along?!"

Feeling offended, Sara took an angry step away from him while looking him right in the eyes, she was unable to believe that he just mocked and ridiculed her even when he was the nonsensical one, twisting her lips in disapproval and anger, she raised a silver brow at him before mouthing a very confident "Fine..."

It all happened too fast, Eren thought as he ran like a mad man while looking for his fair lady, one second he was indulged with her in a univers of pleasure, the next however, they were both alert and wary before anger took over him, making him spit awful accusations, he was angry, angry at the way the Gods were their to roil their happiness, angry at the feeling of unsafeness and uneasiness where he couldn't even kiss his woman without having to worry about the dangers lurking around them, and angry at Sara, an unexplainable but raging anger, for being too stubborn, for being so strong and independent, for being so lone without considering him in her plans, for forgetting that the Gods were their enemies, his to be exact more than they ever were hers...

Maybe that was his answer, the Gods were not Sara's enemies, if anything, they were her people, she was no demon nor human, she was never affected by the Gods schemes and plots to rule the world, unlike him and his people.

It was never her war, Eren thought while tasting the bitterness on his tongue, if anything, he was the one who dragged her to be a part of it in the first place, it was wrong and unfair, he did not deny, but as things changed between them and love finally bloomed, he couldn't help but expect some things and stances of her, Alas, her leaving him behind to go "talk" to the Gods was interpreted directly as her, his woman, not taking his side when he needed her the most...

And there he thought he could be a patient man, he thought he could wait for her to fall for him slowly at her own pace, but it was those exact moments that dragged him out of his happy bubble and slapped him with reality.

There was still a huge gap between them, one which they were filling with love making, physical and emotional, soft and intense, but the gap was always there and never disappeared, the lack of understanding, the invisible barriers and the different ways of seeing the world were all still there...ready to hit when they least needed it to...

And then she left...His fair lady left him, all because he wanted to provide her with more safety and keep her intact, she left, using her unmatchable speed to disappear like a mirage, leaving him behind, seething with anger, worry, disappointment, and frustration.

Reaching the forest, Eren looked all around him to see if he could locate his fair lady or the bastards he was sure she went to meet on her own, but nothing was to be found.

Nothing! He thought while sniffing the air and focusing harder, trying to get the slightest clue of Sara or the Gods' location but it was all in vein, the forest smelled dewy and mossy, just like a forest at night, a smell he would have admired and took as refreshing any other day but not that day, for it smelled nothing like his fair lady...

"Sara!!" Not having any other choice, Eren yelled loudly for his fair lady, he didn't know whether she diliberatly hid her scent to prevent him from following her or if it was the Gods doing, nevertheless, he had no intentions of waiting to find out, without any means to locate them, he decided to let them locate him, exposing his existence and endangering his life meanwhile...

If she was the one hiding her scent, And regardless of how hurtful and infuriating that thought was, then she wouldn't let any harm fall upon him and would show herself eventually to prevent him from exposing himself, she loved him that much, that he was sure of at least, if the Gods were the ones hiding her scent then at least his yelling would warn her or distract the bastards long enough for her to make a break out of whatever situation she got herself trapped into, both ways, he wasn't going to let anything happen to her, and yet he swore he was going to lock her in his room with shackles around her ankles with occasional spanking to her butt until some sense was knocked into her thick head.

'My lord, we have circled the forest, but there are no signs of the Gods nor the lady..' as Andrea spoke through the mind link, Eren ran his fingers through his hair, his yelling was proven to be futile, leaving him with no choice but to search the forest inch by inch if he had to.

"Look for them behind every rock and every tree, find them before anything happens to her!"

"Eren?" Turning around, Eren was met with three pairs of worried eyes surrounded by a dozen guards, sighing tiredly, Eren faced the royal family with a solemn expression, one that knew what was going inside their heads and had no energy nor time to deal with it.

"What is going on? Why are the shadow demons invading the king's forest?" Narrowing her eyes at the shadows lord, Rima tried to gauge out his thoughts through the mask of distress he wore but she could not read anything, nor understand the reason that made him summon his forces on her wedding night.

"Is Sara okay, My Lord? We have heard you calling out her name..." Turning his eyes to Nara, Eren stared at the redheaded princess for few seconds, thinking about what his fair lady said and how right she was, for even the innocent Nara was looking at him skeptically, expecting the worst from him, Henry and Rima's eyes were no different…

He was their fucking priest! Eren thought while holding back his anger and hurt.

"They are here, the three of them, and Sara went after them, I don't know where she is or how to find her, I don't even know if she is safe or not, that is why I summoned the shadow demons, I have no other intentions in mind, my dear friends..."

"Oh no!" As Nara said dramatically, Henry sighed tiredly while shaking his head, it was such an unwelcomed turn of events during what was supposed to be the happiest night of his life, for right when he was about to steal his bride from all eyes and take her where she could only be his, the news of the shadow demons circling the forest reached his ears, causing everyone in the hall to panic, even when Henry assured them that it was nothing but a mere misunderstanding, some of the guests left earlier than expected while the rest were sent to safe locations.

"You know it is not about us..."

"I know, doesn't mean what you thought was right nor justifiable." Looking away from Henry's guilty eyes, Eren scanned the scene in front of him one more time, hoping to catch a glimpse of his fair lady and then take her away and leave, away from all the anger and danger and lack of trust.

"You said the Gods were here? How? What do they want?"

"That is what I am trying to find out!"

"But..."

"Sara!" At Nara's loud scream, everyone standing turned to her and then followed her line of sight to where the silver haired girl was, walking slowly, her steps were small and unsteady, her shoulders were slouching and her posture was that of a defeated person, her dress and hair looked as good as they were when she left the castle, even her make up was intact, and still she looked as if she had lost the greatest battle and was walking with defeat towards her guillotine.

"Fuck!" Seeing his fair lady's state, Eren forgot about everything he was thinking and feeling and just ran towards her, something was wrong, terribly wrong, he knew it, his fair lady was wounded deeply, wounds that didn't bleed, not of blood at least.

"You stupid girl!" Eren breathed out with so much concern in his voice as he inspected Sara from up close before pulling her into a hug, his arms circled her like pliers, tightening around her to the degree of pain and suffocation, Not that he cared, not right then, for all he wanted to do was secure her in his arms and protect her from what ever caused her to look like the lifeless shell she was right then...

"You stupid girl! You stubborn girl!"

"Are you okay, Sara?"

"Talk to us!"

"Did you meet with them? Say something!"

"Love?" Releasing her slightly, Eren looked at Sara with perplexity and concern, for he had noticed how rigid she was in his arms, she didn't hug him back, nor did she buried herself in his chest the way she always does when he hugged her, she wasn't answering any questions, and the light in her eyes felt as.if it was drained and only void remained.

"What did they do to y..." Before he could even finish his question, Eren found himself being pushed away violently by non other than his fair lady, thanks to his fast reactions he was able to keep his body balance even when the same couldn't be said about his soul that shook violently with her unexpected action...

"Stay away from me!"
