Chapter 115: Chapter 115

Sara didn't mean to say those words out loud, nor to show herself that early, especially with how ferocious the battle was between all the demon and the shadows’ lord, but she couldn’t stop herself nor the blazing rage she was feeling once she saw her sister’s unconscious state lying at the feet of the demoness in red.

When Eren left her outside the cave to sneak inside it, Sara tried to busy herself with analyzing and grasping the things he said about her powers and how to use it instead of thinking about the way he made her feel, she already knew that she was able to sense the life force of others, and even see it as the lights sheens that surrounded them, but to thing that she had the power to control that life, take it and give it was what surprised her, but she knew it was an advanced level that she couldn’t reach just yet, and for the time being, she chose to concentrate on the elements, water, he said, and water was her choice.

However, Sara sensed something was wrong, the malice coming from the cave grew dangerously, and she felt the heat coming from the entrance of the cave, Eren didn’t send her any signs either, and after a while, she grew tired of waiting.

Taking out her short sword from under her long vest, Sara tightened her hold on it, releasing a long breath, she sneaked inside the cave, careful not to make any sounds and to mask her presence, which she doubted was even useful, but the second she stepped inside the cave, heavy shadow covered her, dark ones that reminded her of him, as if she needed another reminder, she know what they were, and didn’t repulse them, for they were exactly what she needed to hide her existence, following her sister’s aura while hidden in the shadows, she made it into a secluded part of the cave with a narrow entrance, and there she saw her sister, unconscious, with a bleeding lip and a swollen cheek.

As if fueled by anger, Sara charged at the demoness and in a blink of an eye pushed her off her sister and sent her flying on the opposite side of the cell, crouching down, she placed her finger under her sister’s nostrils, her breathing was fine, her heartbeats were normal, and her aura was a little fainter than before but nothing dangerous, she was also wrapped in shadows which protected her from the excessive heat, all in all, her sister was not harmed, not yet, she thought as she looked at the weird well.

Sara didn’t really know what that thing was, nevertheless, it made her stomach steer with unexplainable wariness, the strange well screamed danger and it was all Sara needed to tuck her sister under her arm and lift her to furthest corner from the well.

Turning back toward the demoness, Sara looked at her red irises with intensity equal to the one she was receiving, her strength and aura no longer hidden, not after the attack she made and the words she said, she let her aura shine, declaring her divinity, making the demoness take a step back and narrow her eyes, probably realizing who it was.

Staring at each other, Sara noticed how the demoness was mirroring her actions, both studying the other, watching carefully and preparing themselves for any sudden attacks, but none of them making any move against the other, for they both knew that the other was not an easy target

Taking a deep breath, Sara stood protectively in front of her sister, trying to find her connection with the elements around her as Eren had told, but aside from her sister’s sweat, there was no water to form any connection with anyway, the heat was making her uncomfortable and the fire she was seeing was a result of dark magic, meaning she couldn’t use it, that left her with the other two elements which were not very effective against fire nor did she knew how to use them, nevertheless, she didn’t allow herself to give up just yet, and gathered her powers inside of her, in the depth of her abdomen where she usually sensed that dormant beast, but wasn’t a beast in reality, it was almost evident to her eyes, visible like a little star shining with blinding white light.

Her core, Sara thought, happy with her little achievement. But even while looking in her depths and unveiling her core, she didn't take her eyes off the demoness, she knew she was studying her, and gathering her powers to take her down, a mutual and identical reaction, that made Sara believe that maybe there was more to the life force and energies than the aura’s she was seeing, maybe there was more.

Looking beyond the red clothes and the tanned skin, Sara penetrated the demoness’ body with her eyes, looking beyond her dark aura, to her abdomen, where a little red flame was dancing, it was like seeing the person from the inside and it was spectacular, the flame then burned brighter before a small thread of it moved from her abdomen to her hand, passing through her arm, she was attacking, Sara concluded.

Effortlessly, Sara dodged the attack, it was nothing but a medium sized fire ball to begin with, learning from her opponent, Sara tried to detach a small portion of her energy, core, the little star like mass of energy, she focused on a single ray of it, imagining it course all the way from her abdomen to her arm and then to her palm, Sara felt the ray of energy flow, it wasn't easy but it wasn't hard either, once she figured the way to do it, it felt as natural as lifting her arm, and that is what she did, lifting her arm so her palm was towards the red demoness, Sara released that small amount of energy, but instead of releasing it in the form of a blade like she did with Eren , she let it spread around her, forming an invisible wall, that only became visible when the next fire ball hit it.

The demoness smirked at Sara which didn’t come as a surprise, not while she was able to see the core of her energy and how it moved inside her, she knew the demoness barely used a mere whit of her powers, only enough to test her opponent, and maybe to fool her, but Sara wasn’t fooled, for she had witnessed the battle of the red demoness with the ice queen, and saw with her eyes how dangerous the beautiful brunette was.

" At first, I thought I heard you wrong, when you called that pitiful thing your sister, But now, my doubts are confirmed..." Emilia looked at Sara with burning eyes, already imagining how happy Micka would be when she tells him the hybrid girl wasn't dead, and better yet when she brings her to him.

" We all thought you were dead, The legendary hybrid born to The Goddess Historia, and the human king Edard Yoren, Some believed the shadows’ lord killed you as predicted, But Micka knew that the unworthy scam wouldn’t do that, he wouldn't kill you, he knew that the shadows’ lord had fallen in love with you, so we looked for you, In the shadows’ empire, in the human lands, and finally in that shack where we found what we thought was your body, It was quite the disappointment though, we looked so hard just to find whom we thought was you, rotten in a shack..." Emilia spoke the last part dramatically before her red lips curled up into a wicked smile... " Better late than never, Now we can have you and kill the shadows’ lord, Isn't that just... Fantastic?" Sara didn't miss how much Energy the demoness was cultivating inside of her while talking, as if to distract her opponent while preparing her attack, smart but not smart enough, however, and unlike the first time when she used a portion of energy, the demoness channeled her energy to course through her body, creating links, between her core and her members, her hands, her feet, and her head, it looked like a well with a continuous distribution system, the demoness didn't just use her palms to fight and attack, but also her feet and her mouth, and instead of focusing on her core to take energy intermittently, she created those links to be able to draw energy constantly and therefore attack profusely and violently without having to take a break to recharge herself again.

Thank you for the lesson, Sara thought.

"You talk too much!” Sara, who wasted no time to try and create the same links but unfortunately managed to create a single one connecting her core to her right hand which was grabbing the sword, immersing it with her energy, lunched at the demoness while the voice of an old grumpy man resonated in her head.
