"Mom, today is the day Jhonia lost her parents." Kyhe finally turned back to his mother and explained, leaving her shocked. ... Moments went by and Jhonia realized something was wrong.
“Mr. Knight the files sir.” Jhonia said taking a step forward and immediately Mrs. Knight turned her back to them hiding her tears.
“What did she do to receive such a fate?” Mrs. Knight asks after hearing the day in which Jhonia should celebrate her birthday is also the day she mourns the death of her parents... Jhonia realized the matter Kyhe is sharing with his mother is not that simple and decided they should be alone.
“Ms. Elenia, I'm afraid something came up. You should visit another time as for Kuwain he's a very close family friend so he can stay if he wishes to.” Jhonia said to Elenia and she looked over to see Kyhe hugging his mother, as did Kuwain but Jhonia had already explained who's going and who is staying...
"Did you see that mom, they're leaving just like we wanted and that is all thanks to Jhonia. Somehow she read through the situation even though she doesn't know what the matter is." Kyhe said to his mother after watching Jhonia then the sudden reaction of Kuwain. He stared at Kuwain and he nodded.
“How long did you know she lost both parents?” Mrs. Knight asked him to finally wipe her tears because Jhonia was no longer there to see it.
"The night I didn't inform you about coming home or going home, it was the night Nearce accused her of sleeping with me, on him. Mom, I have never seen someone so strong turn weak at the same time. That night I went for her." Kyhe explained to him and said while he brought her to the couch putting her to sit, then said to her.
“I'm so sad for her. Can I take her away for lunch?” His mother said and then asked. Kyhe hesitated for a moment.
"Only if I come with... I was planning something for her but then. Okay, I will email her so that she can take the day." Kyhe said and took a moment before explaining to his mother, after seeing how his mother was looking at him he decided to let her go.
“What was your plan?” His mother asked, looking at him and waiting for his response.
"How about you contact her friends and take them to that restaurant I was telling dad I'm going to buy and we give her a surprise." Kyhe said to her explaining what they could do together and said to his mother which made her smile.
“Okay, leave her friends to me. Also, leave Jhonia to me.” Mrs. Knight said to him and stood up then walked over to Kuwain who had been silent the entire time.
“You have something to say or someone to bring? You have been silent the whole time.” She asked, alerting him and then said to him, he looked up at her immediately.
"Huh? Oh, yea." He questioned and then responded to her.
“Okay, he will tell you.” Mrs. Knight said to him and patted his shoulder softly before leaving them.
Hoping she won't have to face Jhonia while going down. Meanwhile! Josephine was receiving a message from Kyhe about Jhonia birthday celebration at the restaurant of his choice, but she is to not inform Jhonia about it for it's a secret from Jhonia, and only fewer individuals will be invited. Those who are close to Jhonia and that she could invite Jea since he, Kyhe and her, Josephine knows him. Josephine looks up across at Jhonia who is seated before her. Josephine tries to hide the fact that she's surprised and guilty for forgetting about Jhonia's Birthday.
“What's wrong?” Jhonia asked, seeing that Josephine's surprised facial expression changed to a guilty one. Josephine gave her a fake smile looking down at documents she took a moment before looking up!
“I'm just feeling guilty because I didn't buy any present and here you are in my office but. You seem to have forgotten about your own birthday because you haven't said anything about it.” Josephine said to her, but in fact that she hadn't said anything about it as if she doesn't want to celebrate her birthday and Jhonia sighed heavily.
“You know the story so you know why I don't celebrate my birthday. You of all people should know why I hate this day, maybe if I have gone with them... I wouldn't feel this way right now. I don't want to be here but here I am without them.” Jhonia said to Josephine about her birthday explaining why she doesn't celebrate her birthday and her hopes of having been gone with them but here she is without them tears filled her eyes. Josephine now feels more guilty for reminding Jhonia of her dead parents. Josephine stood from her chair and went to hug Jhonia while she's still seated.
“I am sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up but it's your birthday regardless Jhonia your parents will not be happy seeing you like this, celebrate your birthday for them at least... Do it for them, Jhonia, they deserved it.” Josephine apologized for bringing up her parents but told her regardless she should celebrate her birthday for them because they deserved it.
“That's what he said this morning.” Jhonia said to Josephine finally accepting the hug and returning the hug while sitting... She breaks from the hug and Josephine lets her go.
“Let's celebrate it together, just you and me... Wait! What did you said who said?” Josephine declared to her, taking a moment before she realized what Jhonia had said and asked.
“Yeah! You are both right. They earn it from me to be happy on my birthday. Wherever you decide to go. Okay, I have work to be at!” Jhonia responded to her and then said her parents earned it for her to be happy. She stood and said to Josephine leaving but she suddenly stopped and turned around.
“I have something to speak with you about but next time, i have to be at work and you do too. See you after work!” Jhonia said to her and smiled before reaching for the door then she said once more before leaving. Jhonia went back to the office and everyone except Lusinly and Daeviann was in the office.
“What's wrong guys?” Jhonia asked the girls after seeing just them seated at their desk!
“Mr. Knight told us... A means we get it! You never talk and we never ask! We just assume all was well with you, so we know about parents not being around but for our sake Jhonia. For our sakes, we are your babies are we not? So when were your babies going to know that today on your birthday was the day you lost your parents. When Jhonia, when?” Lusinly said getting up and looking at her. She then said and began to explain saying to Jhonia, she asked and said. In that moment she knows what's happening because she was unaware of what was really happening, then Lusinly asked. Jhonia stood in silence staring at Lusinly who was not only angry but shedding tears while speaking and Daeviann just sat and kept her head down.
“Do you feel the same way about it, Daeviann?... Okay, don't go beating me up about it when I never asked you to care. I don't like to share, so if he told you two about it then maybe you should have kept to yourselves. I have been through hell and you don't see me complaining about it. They are gone and there is nothing that I can do about it! I wish I had gone with them, are you happy now? I hate them so much for leaving me behind. I miss them so much and my tears or not enough. I miss my mom's cooking, I miss my father's not so funny jokes. So please, I'm hating myself enough. Couldn't you tell me happy birthday instead?... Huh?” Jhonia spent little to a whole minute not crying or feeling bad about her parents but all that changed. She asked Daeviann and went second past with no answer. She said okay and began to explain to them. Surprisingly they stood unbelievable to Jhonia saying they shouldn't care or should have kept it to themselves. Telling them she has been through a lot yet she's not complaining before she said and let them know her wish for wanting to die with her parents, Kyhe came out from his office and stood in shock hearing what she said. In tears Jhonia announced what she missed briefly from both sides then pleaded she's hating herself enough so they should have wished her happy birthday instead she questioned but they were silent.
