Chapter 30: Chapter 30
The small metal door quietly slid open and his polished black shoe glimmered under the dimly white lights. He elegantly wore his lab coat on his tux before emerging into the small room. Circular with two steel chairs inclined opposite each other. One was graced by the Senator of District AB in Rivernea. Her wrist and ankles clamped to the metal cuffs of the chair. Her lips sealed with tape and her eyes were horror rich.
A tiny smile of admiration arched on his face as he acknowledged The Trainer, rooted by her side.
"Mrs. Roswell." He proclaimed while The Trainer peeled her tape off.
She looked up to him in disdain.
"Roberts." She huffed.
"Doctor Roberts." He corrected while he inched closer.
"You sent those men." She asserted in the most icy fashion her vocal cords could orchestrate. He giggled for a brief moment.
"I saved you from those men."
"Is this how you treat me now?" She queried in a tiredly mannerism. He heaved a sigh as his eyes lowered.
"Given the circumstances, yes." He muttered.
She scoffed.
"The authorities will be looking for me right now. You're only going to get yourself in trouble."
He arched an eyebrow as his eyes bonded against hers.
"Actually, I should be the one saying that. In fact," he gestured as he reached for the second chair.
"I deserve some appreciation for saving your life."
She scoffed again.
"Bound in cuffs in a foreign room."
He nodded in assertion.
"This is The Capsule," he toned softly.
"and we're just thirty eight thousand feet above Dé Deluxe surroundings."
She retained silence for minutes. Awestruck and her eyes roaming aimlessly about the room.
"What do you want?" She finally muttered on an overly stern note.
Doctor Roberts studied her stiff features carefully before relaxing to the chair and crossing his leg over the other.
"Where is the EMP?" His held her gaze firmly so both of them found it impossible to waver.
"I know nothing about it!" She blurted after another wave of silent minutes.
Doctor Roberts let out a light sigh whilst letting his left fingers graze through his beards. Repeatedly.
"There are three ways, Roswell." He noted. "One, I return you back to the chaos of Dé Deluxe where you'll get murdered by Charlie Hale's boys. Two, I drop you off this jet without a parachute. Three," he paused noticing her eyes gleam in horror.
"Tell me everything and I'll keep you safe from Charlie Hale."
She gulped her saliva before parting her lips in hesitation.
"We are a group called, The Revolution. An organization containing elites as well as people with extraordinary abilities." Her voice trailed a lowly path.
"I know that but what I don't know is," he uttered. "How many of them are we talking about here?"
She let out an heavy breath.
"I don't know. What I do know is, Timeron is our leader. Mr. Williams, Mr. Martins, Mrs. Tina and I were the ones involved in revealing the Military base of the EMP. Timeron as well as Charlie Hale were involved in the heist."
Doctor Roberts squinted his eyes as he paused with his beards.
"What exactly are you guys planning to do with the EMP?"
She maintained silence as their eyes exchanged incomprehensible glances.
"Utopia."
If he had been surprised, his eyes could have exclaimed from shock but instead he donned a tiny smile.
"Interesting." He nodded while she frowned. "The same gang working for you are now planning to assassinate you all. I'm sure you must be dying to know why." He voiced in an excited thickened tone.
"I'd be happy if you know the reason." She returned.
"I know." He chirped and then grinned. "But I won't tell you. Now where is the EMP?"
"Only Timeron knows." She asserted.
"I was hoping you had a better answer." He sighed. "Well then, I guess I have to do all the hard work." He arose while she exhaled.
"I told you everything you needed. Now how will you save me from the clutches of Hale?" She asked sharply while her palms curled into a fist.
"Prison."
"Prison?! You can't do this to me Roberts!!"
"Oh I can," he grinned sinisterly.
"I already have your confession taped and trust me. It should arrive the appropriate authorities in a minute or so." He briefly checked his wristwatch.
"It's the only place where Charlie Hale wouldn't have to murder you. Consider this my sincere gratitude to our relationship." He finished with a courteous gesture.
"Roberts this is wrong!!" She cried as she struggled with her cuffs. But it was hopeless.
"Tell me something, Roswell." He asked after minutes of deliberation. "Why are you doing this?"
She hesitated for minutes.
"Isn't it obvious, why should Utopia be in World Power control? Why should they decide for the others? Don't we have brains to make the world better?"
His eyes lowered.
"Then you should have joined the right means not a terrorist organization." He signalled at The Trainer.
"Roberts!" She screeched while The Trainer pressed a syringe into her neck. "R--" her voice faded as she slipped into unconsciousness. The Metal door slid open and he was coldly greeted by querying faces of Theodore and Marcus.
"Now are you going to tell us what the heck is happening?!" Theodore growled but Doctor Roberts shrugged both of them off. Trailing to the pilot room where Several holograms displayed.
"Service, take us to the nearest police station please." He ordered while Theodore and Marcus stormed into the room.
"Doctor Roberts, I saw two of you!" Marcus pitched in an extremely worried tone.
"How's that possible? We saw you at the concert and in the tunnel!" Theodore added.
"Oh, the one you saw during the concert was a fake." He answered sharply as he glimpsed at their surprised faces. "It was an Android."
"God you're so unbelievable!" Theodore remarked. His frustrations hinting.
"Service, give me Collins location." He ordered and an instant 3D hologram popped.
"He's currently at a spa in New Canada." The AI answered as the hologram displayed images of the building.
"Glad to know he's still alive." Doctor Roberts smiled.
"Only the devil knows what I'll do to that idiot when I catch him." Theodore growled as he pointed to the hologram.
"That's for later, Doctor Roberts you need to tell us what all these is about." Marcus proclaimed sternly. "It's now or never!"
"With time!" He answered as he swiped his hands through another hologram. Squinting his eyes at the images of Dé Deluxe.
"Right now I need to focus on getting the rest of the team back."
"And how are you planning to do that?" Marcus interjected with crossed arms.
"Service, initiate plan B." He ordered.
"On it." The system answered and an hologram displaying a timer appeared.
"What's plan B?" Marcus queried again. He flashed a grin at both of them.
"The Dé Deluxe is rigged with sleeping gas and in less than five minutes from now it's going to detonate."
"But that's gonna affect Lola and the rest too!" Marcus pitched.
"They have counter measures not to worry."
"Doctor Roberts, you know we could have simply used this plan B of yours rather than go through all those stress." Theodore remarked.
"Well, It's part of your training and I also did it for a reason." He curtly replied.
"God I hate your ways!" He blurted as he wriggled his head in disappointment.
"We've approached Pretoria police division, Sir." Service sonorously sounded throughout the room.
"Is the Package ready?" He implied at The Trainer who sauntered into the room. The Trainer nodded.
"Send the drones, Service."
"Yes sir." The AI answered.
"Hold on a minute, what's the package and why are we employing drones?" Marcus interjected.
He beamed a smile at them.
"Mrs. Roswell, we're dropping her off in the station."
"I'd ask why but then you'll say, With time." Theodore scorned. He chuckled.
"I assure you all. With time, you all will know everything." He muttered as he returned to the Holograms.
"But first, let's go get Rita and the rest of the team."

APRIL, 2023
DISTRICT AB, RIVERNEA
"I've installed a tracker just in case." Doctor Roberts mumbled. "But I'm certain we won't be using the machine in the nearest future."
"I hope it just remains that way." The Colonel responded as they trailed side by side towards the secret room.
"Colonel!" A young lady hurriedly scaled behind them, pitching in a worriedly fashion. They both faced her, trying to comprehend her expression.
"I think we have ourselves a problem."
Doctor Roberts watched the Colonel from the corner of his eyes before they followed after her into the communication room where Several alarms blared. She took them to a system radar.
"An unidentified element is launching towards us and it's FAST!" The lady toned while the Colonel inched closer to the system, displaying the object trotting at a speedy rate.
"Were you expecting a visitor? Doctor Roberts" The Colonel asked with his gaze still fixated at the green radar.
"None." He answered as a frown danced on his face.
"Do we have eyes on this thing?!" The Colonel announced to the room.
"The Tower's got eyes on it, Sir!" A male soldier affirmed. "They say it's a human covered in fire!"
"What the hell!" The Colonel whispered but Doctor Roberts frown deepened. He was certain this unidentified human was a mutant.
"This is Colonel Rogers, Deploy all units. There has been an infiltration!" The Colonel voiced through his Walkie-talkie. "I repeat, this is an infiltration, all units to the main grounds!"
An alarm instantly blared, it's sound encompassing the entirety of the military secret base.
"How's this possible?!" The Colonel whispered to himself as he fiddled through his hair roughly.
"Doctor Roberts we need to put you in safety."
"No!" He outrightly declared and a frown arched on the Soldier's face. "If my guess is right, then this intruder is here for the EMP."
The Colonel's eyes exclaimed and his lips parted. Before any words could drop, an explosion quaked the earth. Shootings and cry of agonies followed suit. They both jetted out of the room and up to the main grounds. Flaming in horrors. There was a woman whose body burned with flames, she occasionally projected big fire balls from her palms to the soldiers defending the building. To which they failed horribly; their bullets melted before any could reach her. Their bodies also razed with brimstone fire.
"What in the fucking hell is this?!!" Colonel Rogers yelled in oblivion, his eyes mirroring how his soldiers burned helplessly to the ground. But all Doctor Roberts could think of was the EMP.
"Colonel, The EMP!" He screamed beside the soldier who already attempted in pacing towards her with his pistol. The Colonel breathed heavily, his eyes donning an angry shade of red.
"Lock Room 32BC! I repeat, Lo--" another thunderous explosion quaked the grounds, it's force flung them in the air. Doctor Roberts sealed his eyes shut, mentally preparing himself for the pain that would befall him but something went wrong. Everything were different. The noise, the agony, the raging fires all stopped. Replaced with silence. It forced Doctor Roberts to open his eyes and immediately, they fell on two other figures. Standing beside the flaming lady. One had steel-like body and the other was an innocently looking brown skinned man. Dressed in a suit jacket and a devilish smile to complement his glazing Orange eyes.
This wasn't what bewildered Doctor Roberts. The fact that soldiers froze in their stance, fire hung in the air, bullets paused mid air, and his body alongside Colonel Rogers froze mid air shocked his entirety. It was like time stopped. But if it did, he shouldn't be able to open his eyes or even think at all.
"Doctor Roberts..." The Brown skinned man bellowed. Doctor Roberts eyes exclaimed in horror as the man walked amidst the time freeze. Then he easily concluded, this man had the powers of time manipulation.
Chronokinesis.

"Where the hell is Collins at crucial times like this?!" Lola screeched from the sofa while Doctor Roberts slipped his hands into lab coat pockets. He was still in process of reviewing each of them bionic suits when Collins Teleported into the apartment. His hands full with shopping bags and his blazers still worn.
"Oh hi guys!" The Teleporter pitched in a smiley status. Doctor Roberts wriggled his head trying to contain his discrete anger.
"Collins, I am very disappointed in you." He muttered through gritted teeth. "Your actions today could have cost more lives or even the lives of your teammates. But what did you do? Carried your tiny body to a Spa!"
Collins chuckled as he dropped his bags carefully.
"No qualms, Doctor Roberts, but I just couldn't stand the sounds of bullets and grenades. Besides, what if I was a victim of stray bullets?" He gestured but it only infuriated him more.
"So your teammates are the ones willing to be victims?" He queried fiercely while Collins shrugged. Doctor Roberts pinched the area between his eyebrows before gazing upon him again.
"Henceforth, you're stripped off all the the benefits The Shining has to offer, including your MasterCard."
"What?! But that's not fair!" Collins yapped.
"Well, life's not fair either." He retorted. "Now get your lazy ass to the couch, there's something important we need to discuss."
Collins grumbled as he hesitantly relaxed beside Michael.
"In April, we all remember the infamous incident of a stolen weapon in one of Rivernea's home base?" He started as he glanced from Rita, The Trainer and the rest of them who nodded in assertion.
"That stolen weapon was an augmented EMP built by me. It has the capability-" he sighed and then his countenance lowered. "It has the capability of creating a black out in an entire continent."
"Oh God." Theodore whispered as he wriggled his head as a symbol of dissatisfaction. The rest of the team weren't any different either. Each wearing horror struck countenances.
"The Metz Gala was a ploy to find out the criminals behind it. Mr. Williams, Mrs. Roswell, Mr. Martins, Mrs. Tina, Charlie Hale and Timeron."
"Wait Timeron?" Collins quizzically acclaimed. "The same Timothy Chamelet."
He nodded.
"That's not possible." Lola stated. "Timothy Chamelet is an industrialist. Not a criminal."
"In fact, he's more than a criminal. He his a mutant just like you guys." He asserted to their awestruck faces.
"But Mr. Williams was murdered two months ago, and the rest were almost victims of assassination." Marcus stuttered as he gestured.
Doctor Roberts started to trail about the room.
"That's because I'm a threat. The masterminds believe I know too much and it won't take long before I find out the truth from those fore mentioned names."
"So you knew Mr. Williams was gonna die and you didn't do shit about it?!" Marcus stated. One could notice the pain and anger intertwined in his voice.
Doctor Roberts shot him a cocky smile.
"In Chess, some pieces haves to be sacrificed to get the desired results."
"And what is this desired result?" Lola softly asked. Fear obvious in her tone.
"That the EMP is in the wrong hands and they're planning to attack Utopia in a month or less. They call themselves The Revolution, Timeron is their leader and their agenda is to topple Utopia from the center of power. In simple terms, it's going to be a bloody war. Another world catastrophe." He explained as he studied their looks carefully.
"Once again, Science is going to destroy the world." Theodore avowed in an hopeless manner.
"Why?" Collins mumbled and all attention diverted to him. "Why did you have to build such dangerous weapon?!"
He sighed.
"The government asked me to."
"And you couldn't refuse?!" Lola interjected. "Do you have any idea of the millions of people that suffer in Area X. Just because of this science and stuff!" Do you?!" Her voice picked on an higher note with her gaze fierce and intimidating.
"Honestly, I'm disappointed." Marcus toned. "And this is the same man who was given humanity award." He gestured.
"The government, they needed it as a resort just in case any rebellion planned on toppling them. I built it because if I hadn't done it, another person would." Doctor Roberts solemnly explained. "It is better to create a demon you know inside out than let an outsider do it."
"Still doesn't change the fact that a serious war is coming!" Collins blared furiously as he arose. Doctor Roberts wouldn't deny this was the first he'd seen the Teleporter so emotional.
"And there's nothing this team can do about it. We are a joke!. Just a bunch of lowlifes lucky to have special abilities. I don't know for the rest!" He paused as he glanced at their saddened faces.
"But I'm out. I don't want to be part of this." He declared and the others weren't any indifferent.
Doctor Roberts heaved an heavy sigh as he relaxed to a couch opposite them. His palms had curled into a fist and his eyes embattled the tears.
"I lost my family to the explosion." He started and silence descended. His gaze lowered to the floor.
"I could have backed down just like everybody and enjoy what's left of the ruins. But no! I choose to rise, strife to make the world a better place." He returned his gaze to them.
"This war will surely happen, properties will be destroyed, lives will be too. And do you know why?" He challenged. "Because you all chose to chicken out, to show nonchalance. And because you denied those responsibilities, families will be lost, loved ones will be separated, this fucking world would deteriorate even more!!"
He took steady breaths in efforts to keep at bay.
"If you know you don't want to be part of this, then leave." He muttered in the iciest his vocal cords could produce.
Without waste, Collins Teleported.
"Anyone else that wants to leave?" He asked as he gestured towards the door.
