Chapter 60: Chapter 60
Lyndon
"Oh, Lyndon?" Kelvin asked when he saw me entering the Snack Bar.
Yes, I am now here at the Snack Bar.
"Your sister is not here, though? Are you going to eat here?" he asked again.
I scratched my head. I am here already. I should do what I planned to do here.
"Uhm... is Archane here?" I asked.
"He is out for delivery but will be here in a few minutes. He takes near-delivery since we can't find a new full-time worker," Kelvin answered. "Just sit while you are waiting for him." he added.
I sat near the door of the Snack Bar. I don't have the appetite to eat, even though the food here is good. I decided to kill time by playing online games while I waited for Archane, as I had been missing this game for days. Although I have the time to play it at night, I don't have the energy to do it.
While playing the game, I received a call from Traizle. It is a good thing I am wearing my earphones.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Where are you?" Traizle asked back worriedly.
Well, she's been worried when our mother came. She'll call every hour after class to see how I'm doing. She is too scared that our mother may come to get us. I won't come to her, though. Even if my last option is to go with her, I will choose to die rather than go back to her side.
"We are heading to the computer shop." I lied.
"Don't go without your friends, okay? Text me if there is something wrong," Traizle reminded. "Eat before playing." she added.
"Don't worry. You, too, eat with Matthew." I told her.
"We are currently eating. I am done with mine, but he is still pigging out." She answered boredly.
"I told you that pigging out was too offensive!" I heard Matthew complain on the other line.
"I will call you later. Take care of yourself." Traizle said before ending the call.
I am sure that Traizle won't get hurt. Matthew is on her side, and that is much better. Besides using us as bait for Traizle, our mother can't get anything from Layzen or me. However, she may be able to get something from my sister. I also needed to protect her, like she always did to us.
"Lyndon?" A voice that I wanted to see called me. I quickly turned to see him and saw him removing his jacket. "I will be back. Wait for me." he added and headed inside their room.
I mustered the courage to go here. There is no time for backing out. Traizle can decide whether to stay or leave. If it is the only way to save us and be separated from her afterward, I can manage it. If Traizle can do it, working her ass off to sustain our needs, I think I can also do it.
"Here, eat first. Kelvin said you are waiting for me." Archane said as he put the food and drink in front of me.
"Thank you," I answered. "Can you help me?" I've already gotten to the point.
He looked at me, confused. "Help you with?" he asked.
I quickly open my bag to get the notebook I have been hiding for years. I turned it to the last page and saw the name I had been keeping. The name I wanted to forget, but I could not do it.
"Can you help me find this man?" I asked.
It is now or never.
He read it shortly and looked back at me after. "How did you get this name? Why do you want me to help you find this man?" he asked.
I drank the soda he gave me first. I need to drink before spouting the truth behind that man's name.
"He is..." I muttered. "He is Traizle's father." I finally told the truth.
"Traizle's father?" he asked back, more confused.
"Yes, that man is my sister's real father." I explained.
"How about the two of you?" He asked again.
"We, Layzen and I, have the same father. However, Traizle's father is that man," I explained again, pointing to the name in my notebook. "I have been hiding this notebook since I was in grade 4. I thought I could keep this secret until I died, but I don't think I can." I added.
"Why? Is there anything wrong with you guys? Did something happen?" He asked.
I nodded. "Unfortunately, our mother returned, and we all thought she had a plan since she showed herself to Traizle. We learned that her new husband owns Limede Corporation and she wants Traizle to persuade Matthew to accept their long rejected proposal." I shared. "She was the one who tailed us too and last night I knew she went to our house. She threatened Traizle to come with them or else they would tell the press about their relationship." I added.
"Is she still not ready to announce their relationship?" Archane asked.
I shake my head. "She does not care at all. She didn't mind being the center of the conversation for the next few days, but our lovely mother threatened that she would come to get us from her next time. I think she did not tell Matthew this either. This is the only way to survive." I said.
"Why do you think this is the only way to save you guys from your mother?" he asked.
"I want his father to get Traizle as soon as he knows about it. I heard from our mother while she was explaining to our father that her father is from a wealthy family and he wanted to see Traizle but was being kept by our mother. He can save her. I will take Layzen somewhere they can't find us. In that way, they can't hurt us anymore." I answered. That is the only solution I can think of.
"Do you think Traizle will let this happen? I know you know how much she cares for you guys." He said.
"I know it is too much, but in this way, we can guarantee our safety. Traizle won't be in danger, and she does not have to break with Matthew. She is willing to let go of her happiness to save us. I want her to be happy for once, and it is with Mathew. She's already found happiness, and I can't let it be ruined because of our mother, who knows how to hurt us all." I explained.
"But instead of Matthew, why did you come to me and tell me this?" Archane asked again.
I smiled at him. "Matthew can't keep secrets from Traizle. I mustered my courage to ask for your help because you did not hesitate to help us before. I think you are more reliable than the others. I somewhat feel like I can tell you everything wholeheartedly. That is why I hope you can help me find him, or else I will change my view from wholehearted to halfhearted." I added.
He looked at the name of the man again.
I started to open the burger he gave me a while ago. After telling him the secret I have been hiding for years, I did not know it could make me hungry afterward. This differs from lying to Traizle that I must go to school because we have schoolwork to finish to play a championship battle at the computer shop.
"You can eat first," Archane said. "You asked the right guy at the right time." he added. I looked at him with a heart full of hope. "I can bring you to this man, and I do know this man after all."
