Chapter 50: Chapter 50
Traizle
"Why are there so many cars in front of the building?" I muttered as I walked to the entrance.
There are so many cars outside the Grand Finance. I am trying to remember if we have any appointments or guests for today. "Traizle!" Tyler called me when he saw me.
I walk faster to enter the building. "What? Did something happen?" I asked.
He held my shoulder. "You need to get ready." he answered.
"Why?" I asked.
Why do I need to get ready?
"Seems like Mr. Zarsuelo's grandparents are here." Tyler answered, and it left me speechless.
Are His grandparents here? Why? Why didn't he tell me? I am not yet ready to face them. It's not even a day since I confessed to him.
"Move, go to his office. Do your best, okay? Get on their side." Tyler added as he gently pushed me.
Tyler didn't know that I had confessed already. I shouldn't tell them this. I quickly went to our office to put my things. "Mr. Zarsuelo's grandparents are here. They are asking for you." Claire said the moment I entered our office.
"Okay, thank you." I replied before leaving.
"Have fun." I heard Sonia add before I left the office.
Have fun? How can I have fun when his grandparents are here? I am not even ready to face them.
I am not yet suitable for him.
I immediately walk to Zarsuelo's office. "Mr. Zarsuelo?" I said after knocking when I reached his office.
The door opened wide, revealing Zarsuelo, who looked nervously at me. "Uhh, um," he said. "My grandparents are here." he added, stuttering.
He is even scared to say that his grandparents are here. Maybe they are too strict. I gently pushed the door for me to enter his office. Two men were standing behind the door, and his grandparents were sitting on the couch, looking at me intently.
"Good morning, Ma'am and Sir. I am sorry to interrupt you. I heard Mr. Zarsuelo call for me?" I said and looked at Zarsuelo, who was standing stiffly beside me.
"I called for you. Sit in front of us." Zarsuelo's grandmother answered.
I immediately followed her and sat on the couch before them. His grandmother pointed out the seat beside me, so Zarsuelo sat beside me.
"Do you have something to say to me, Ma'am?" I asked.
Her eyebrows arched before getting her coffee to sip on it. "I heard you worked here for months already. Is that right?" She asked.
I nodded. "Yes, Ma'am." I answered.
"I also heard that you could not finish your studies but were able to enter here as his secretary. Is that also right?" Zarsuelo's grandmother asked again.
I nodded. "Yes, Ma'am. Do you perhaps dislike the idea of me working here?" I asked.
"Is it true that you guys are in a relationship?" His grandmother asked again without answering my question.
"Nana, don't be so bad to her." Zarsuelo said.
"Are you guys in a relationship?" His grandmother said, raising her voice at us.
Zarsuelo went quiet. "Yes, Ma'am," I answered since this oddball didn't have the guts to answer his grandmother. "I know you are worried about him because I might have bad intentions towards him and his company, but I don't." I added.
"How can you say so? Everybody can say that. Who knows what scheme you are planning already in your mind." she asked again.
"Nana!" Zarsuelo yelled.
"Be quiet, oddball. Don't shout at your grandmother, and we are talking." I told him.
"But Nana is rude." he replied, pouting at me.
"I don't care, and I understand her," I answered, facing his grandmother. "I am not interested in your money. For you guys to believe me, you don't have to give me money, and I won't accept any money from you," I added. "Recently, I just realized that I started to like this grandson of yours. I can't believe it myself. I didn't know that I would like him or that I would add a kid to my life again. I am not after your money. I am working here diligently to pay the price, even though I am not a college graduate. I want to show that I can do what college graduates can do. I hope you can let us prove that our relationship is not merely a money-love relationship." I shared.
If I didn't like this idiot beside me, I would have gone out of this office or not even let myself be insulted by his grandparents.
"Okay." his grandmother said.
Okay? What's the meaning of her, okay?
"Congratulations, I hope you won't let go of our grandson." Zarsuelo's grandfather said, smiling at me.
What is it now? Why are they suddenly smiling? "I don't get what you mean, Sir." I replied.
"Sorry for my misbehavior. I hope I didn't make you feel so bad because I insulted you. I didn't mean it," Zarsuelo's grandmother said as she touched my hands. "I want to know if you will react badly or show any negative expression. I don't want my grandson to get hurt again." she added.
I hit Zarsuelo after. "Say sorry to her. You shouted at her a while ago." I told him.
"I am sorry, Nana. I thought you disliked her. I told you that she was awesome, right? She is different from my ex-girlfriend." Zarsuelo said.
"That's okay," his grandmother said. "As long as you are happy, we will support you. We went here to check on you and her." she added.
Right. He told me his grandparents were out of the country. So, they came here to see if we were in a relationship?
"Matthew told us about your relationship last night. That is why we asked our pilot to fetch us." his grandfather said.
I looked at Zarsuelo. "Who else did you tell about us?" I asked.
He scratches his nape. "My grandparents, Aiden, some of our employees—"
"Why did you tell them about us? If our relationship went out of this building, how can we protect you and your reputation?" I asked.
I am worried about the things that may happen because of me. I won't let his reputation be ruined because of our relationship. I have to make some plans before we can tell everyone about us.
"Then so be it. I don't care anyway," Zarsuelo said, shrugging off my worries. "As long as I have you, I don't need to worry about everything. We are in a relationship, so what if the other knew about us?" He added, not bothered at the thought of the others knowing our relationship.
"They can ruin you using me and my status. I don't want to cause problems with my brother's privacy. I also don't want them to say I am not worth it. I want to show them I deserve you, so they can't say anything about us." I answered, telling him everything about my concerns.
"Why do you have to say so much today? Don't you know that every word you are spouting is killing me and my heart?" Zarsuelo complained. "Nana and Pops, let me marry her."
"Stop spouting your highly paid ideas, Zarsuelo." I told him.
"We heard about you and your little brothers," his grandfather said. "I am thankful that you are letting him get close to them. Our grandson loves kids too much." he added.
"I also hope he didn't cause you too much trouble." his grandmother said.
I can't help but grimace at them. "He knows how to give me trouble," I commented. "But thank you for accepting me, Ma'am and Sir. I didn't know that you would accept me this fast." I added.
In dramas, wealthy parents won't let their son be with a poor woman. I thought I would face more challenges with his grandparents, but I was wrong.
"I am glad you like our grandson. He's been telling about you all the time." his grandfather answered.
"You can also call us Nana and Pops." his grandmother said. I shook my head and hands. "No, no. I won't dare." I answered.
"I will get myself a sweet at the cafeteria. I will be back in a minute." Zarsuelo said and went out.
"I am sorry to say this, but sometimes I can't help but hit him. I hope you won't get mad at me." I told them. It's better to tell them everything what I am doing with him instead of hearing those from the others.
"You are free to do that. If you think he is too much and needs it, go." Zarsuelo's grandmother said.
"It's like what our grandson said about you, that you are straightforward. I find you awesome too." His grandfather added.
"I don't want to dilly dally. I don't want to think about anything. I want to say everything I wanted to say." I explained.
Zarsuelo's grandmother held my hand again. " We were worried that he felt so lonely in his house, but now we are fine. We know you are here to care for him." she said.
"May I know when you will stay here?" I asked. "Zarsuelo's been telling me how lonely he is in his house." I added.
His grandmother answered, "We planned to tour around the world for a year before we could settle and live here."
"I hope you can take care of him on our behalf. We still have a few months to tour around the world." his grandfather added.
"I can do that. It is my job as his secretary." I replied.
"We should go now." his grandmother said.
Already? "Zarsuelo is still in the cafeteria." I told them.
"Let's just go to the cafeteria." his grandfather said and stood up.
I just nodded and followed them. We went quietly to the cafeteria. The other employees stopped walking and let Zarsuelo's grandparents pass them first. Walking with his grandparents made me nervous, and their grandson ate sweets at the table comfortably.
"Matthew, you didn't even go back to your office to eat your sweets." his grandmother said.
"Sorry, why did you go here?" He asked.
"They will go now. That is why we came here to tell you." I answered.
"You guys gonna go out already?" He asked. "Why so soon?" He added.
"Then why did you eat sweets rather than talk with them?" I asked.
He just smiled. "I wanted you to have time to talk," he replied. "I will send you outside." he added, closing his sweets.
We send them outside of Grand Finance.
"I am happy to meet you, Traizle," Zarsuelo's grandmother said. "Please do as I have asked." she added.
"What is that?" Zarsuelo commented. "What is it, Traizle?" He asked me.
"Your Nana told Traizle to break up with you when you made trouble three times." Zarsuelo's grandfather answered.
Zarsuelo's eyes widened. "What? Isn't that too much? No, I won't allow that," Zarsuelo commented. "Nana, why did you say that? What if I make trouble—"
"Then she will leave you." Zarsuelo's grandmother interrupted.
"No!" He exclaimed. "I won't let that happen, and I have been chasing her for years and three times trouble. Will that make her leave me? No way, that's impossible." he added.
"Then be good to her, don't let others chase her." His grandfather said and winked at me.
I guess they are playing with Zarsuelo. Fortunately, their grandson is gullible.
"We will go now. See you next time, Traizle," his grandmother said before she entered their car. "Matthew, avoid eating sweets too much. Don't give her trouble." she added as she lowered the car window.
"Yes, Nana. Take care on your way. I will call you later." Zarsuelo answered.
"Matthew, is the code okay?" Zarsuelo's grandfather reminded.
"Yes, Pops." Zarsuelo replied, saluting his grandfather.
When the car finally started, and we didn't see them after, we decided to go back inside. "Tyler! I owe you my life. I will promise to give you anything you want. Just name it, okay?" Zarsuelo said.
Tyler saluted too. "Sir, yes, Sir." he answered.
"Let's eat my sweets first, okay? I am in a good mood." oddball said, pulling me to the cafeteria.
"Why didn't you text me when they arrived?" I asked while he was eating his sweets.
"I was scared. Nana and Pops seemed serious. I didn't dare move an inch," he answered. "I thought they wouldn't like you. I was ready to rebel if they said they opposed our relationship." he added.
"Just eat. Finish it first so we can return to our own office." I told him.
"I wanna be with you. Let's date!" Zarsuelo said. "Lower your voice." I replied.
"Why? I want to be with you today. So what if they can see us? Don't care." he answered.
"Your grandparents told you not to cause trouble for me, didn't they?" I asked.
He pouted. "Okay, I won't but make sure to agree next time." he answered.
I nodded. "Please, don't tell others about us. Not now, not tomorrow." I told him.
Why do I feel like I warned him late?
