Chapter 38: Chapter 38
Traizle
"I am sorry for what happened a while ago." Archane guy said while we were fixing the table.
I turned to him and nodded my head. "It's okay. It's not your fault. And also, you should tell this to our boss, not me." I answered.
He shook his head. "I feel like I should say sorry to you as well," he responded. "Thank you for punching them for me. I was unable to fight back because Benedict's slaves were holding me tight." he added.
I waved my hands. "No worries, I don't want something bad to happen to you too. You are not doing anything wrong," I told Archane. "Since you worked here, you were doing good. There's no need for me to get mad at you. Your family must be proud that you are working your ass off to earn money if they knew about this." I continued.
He smiled as he shook his head. "He doesn't know about this," he answered. "He will get mad if he knows about this. " He grins.
Then why is he working? After what happened, he's from a wealthy family, and his parents would get mad after learning their child was working without their knowledge.
"Do you have a boyfriend? An older one?" he asked.
I pointed myself out. I looked at him, confused. "Older one? I don't even have one. I still have to work my ass off before finding one." I answered.
"She will have one younger than her, a year younger, and that is me," Zarsuelo butted in. "I think I saw you before somewhere. You are quite familiar. It is like I saw you at the party last Saturday," he added, squinting his eyes. "They said that you were rich. What is your surname?" he asked.
"I am sorry, but I don't want to tell you. I am using an alias if you will ask our boss. I will take my leave now." Archane guy said. He is avoiding Zarsuelo's question.
"I think I saw him last Saturday." Zarsuelo said, still thinking about whether he saw Archane at the party.
I turned to him. "I did not see him." I commented.
He shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe I saw him somewhere," he answered, bobbing his head. "Anyway, I heard what you did to his schoolmates. Don't get into a fight if they are outnumbering you!" he complained. "I could not help you because they happened to know me."
"I can handle them, so don't worry about me. As long as they are not holding a gun or what." I replied.
"You know how to protect yourself. When did you learn it?" he asked.
I started thinking about how I learned those. It is funny to look back and see how I remembered it.
"Our parents are abusing us. That is why I learned those quick reflexes." I shared.
He is not drunk anymore, but I can still tell him about this. Why does it feel like I am comfortable with him whenever we talk about our past?
Reality hit me when I felt someone hugging me.
"Who told you to hug me?" I told Zarsuelo, trying to get rid of his hug.
I could feel him shaking his head and tightening his hug. "I am sad." he replied.
"I didn't tell you to hug me when you are sad!" I complained, finally getting rid of him.
I turned when I heard someone whistling. "You guys are getting intimate, huh." Kelvin commented while he was placing the chairs at the table.
"Intimate your face." I responded and glared at him.
"Are we? I told you we belong to each other!" Zarsuelo exclaimed, grinning wickedly at me.
I sighed. "You belong to yourself, and I belong to myself. I thought we talked about this already?" I asked him.
He quickly pointed to Kelvin. "They are your friends, so I don't think they will tell this to others," Zarsuelo replied. "And they are not my employees either. Our rules are still followed." he added.
Since I can't win with him, I continue what I am doing quietly. When we finished everything, the boss gave us some snacks.
"We have to go back to the company now." I told Zarsuelo, who was busy eating the burger.
"Already?" he asked, surprised.
"Stop slacking off, move." I replied and asked him to stand up from his chair.
Pouting, Zarsuelo stood up. "Boss, I will be back next time. Traizle wants to work already." Zarsuelo said as he bid his goodbye.
The owner nodded and patted Zarsuelo's shoulder. "Just visit here whenever you want." she replied.
"I will be back after my work. Kelvin and Archane, you guys can take care of this Snack Bar. Call me when we have an emergency." I told them.
"What? Will you rush yourself into trouble again? No way." Zarsuelo complained. "I will have this Snack Bar guard." he suggested with high-paid ideas.
"You don't have to." the owner answered.
He disagreed. "Don't worry. I will pay for them. So that this won't happen again." Zarsuelo replied.
I have to pull him out of the Snack Bar for him to stop suggesting new ideas he will think.
"Let's talk seriously," Zarsuelo said after I dragged him out. "Don't do that again. The boss told me what you did a while ago." he added.
"I am fine, and nobody was hurt, aside from Archane." I answered.
"Still, it is dangerous. I don't want you to get hurt!" Zarsuelo exclaimed. "I don't know what I would do to them if they happened to hurt you. I will make sure they will pay big time." he added.
His worried expression left me speechless. He has a knack for making people silent. Not because he is being arrogant or anything. He is just showing his oddball side, as usual.
If this continues, I am still determining what I will do. He is starting to confuse me as time passes by.
I want to avoid getting used to him. I don't want to fall for that oddball, Zarsuelo.
