It was a cool and breezy evening, a strong gust of wind blew against my face as Alex lead me deep into an unknown property surrounded by tall beautiful trees after parking his car far from civilization.

He took a bag from his car trunk holding it to his left hand as he held my hand in his right.

Oh, am guessing it's a picnic under the moonlight. Isn't that romantic.

My heart beats and my stomach flips in delight at what tonight holds for us.

This past week has been so hectic we didn't even have privacy together but tonight we are going to be together enjoying each other warmth.

We continue walking in the woods each other of us lost in our thought. I could feel Alex's hands shaking nervously not meeting my eyes.

Finally, Alex stops walking as we reached a clearing, making me stop also drinking in my surrounding. To say the whole place was beautiful will be an understatement of the century.

The floor was decorated with a red carpet like what you see on those Hollywood awards shows, trees decorated with colorful lights surrounded the whole place like a circle. In the center was well decorated and a chair and table filled with only wine and water.

It's so beautiful how did he manage to do these.

Everywhere looks so magical.

I looked in awe, unable to move. My gaze was fixed on how stunning everything was.

"So do you like it," he licks his lips, unable to stand still waiting for my response.

Was he crazy who in their right mind wouldn't love this"Of course not."

"Oh...I thought as much. if I didn't.." He said stammering, has sweat drips from his forehead down to his shit. I felt flattered by how he was behaving.

"Because I love it....wow Alex you did a good job," he let out a sigh of breath as he cleaned his forehead already dripping with sweat.

Alex has been a gentleman his learning to be led me to a chair to seat with a charming smile on his face reminding me why I fell in love with him again.

I love his smile.

He opened the bag and brought out different types of food that were not familiar to me but looked delicious enough to make me drool at the sight.

The ones familiar to me were the chicken and pepperoni pizza he brought out.

I didn't even bother asking him what were the names of some of the food knowing I won't even remember them.

We dig into our food occasionally bringing up small talks. Like I found out that Alex was the one who rescued me from that insane rogue.

"Jessica you never told me how your life in Africa was.....and also about your parents." The whole atmosphere became tense by his sudden question.

"That because I never wanted to talk about it....but I guess as my mate I have to tell you everything about me ...its an obligation," I said in a rude tone but regretted it as I saw his whole content mood change to being gloomy.

"Jessica... It's not like that...." I cut him off quickly.

"I'm sorry Alex I didn't mean to be rude.....I'm sorry."

"It's OK baby...when you are ready you can tell me ....let just enjoy our date," he said in understanding.

"No Alex..am ready to tell you everything," I gave him a small smile as he held my hand.

"You see...I was just a young girl when my parents died in an accident when I was about eight years old. They were coming to pick me up from school when I lied I was sick to my principal just to see their face since I hated school and that particular day mia wasn't there that day, she went out with her parent and I wanted to be with mine so that why I lied."

"Instead of them coming to pick me up from school... It was the police that came to school saying my parents were involved in a ghastly accident. nobody wanted to take me under their care...my parent's family all rejected me. It was only my parents who pitted me and took me under their wings."

"Long story short...I still blame myself for what happened to me...if I wasn't a stubborn child and just stayed in school that day without lying."

"My childhood wasn't great but mia tried to make it better...and when she found her mate before me. I was jealous."

"She had a lovely family and then a mate...everything I ever wished for. Mia was my Angel and she's till is...I wonder if I went back to Africa... I would have found you. She insisted that I should wait till she gives birth. "

"Now look at where we are."

"We made it," he said in a funny accent making me laugh as he dried up the tears I didn't know were falling down my cheek.

Am such a cry baby.

"No, you are not"

"You heard that?"

"Yes I did"

"Stop reading my thought"

"Stop thinking about them"

"Jessica I have something important to tell you."

"When I first meet you...I thought I hated black girls... because of how my mother brought me up...but that is not an excuse, but you change my mind and I fell in love with you, not because of the mate bond but because...you were just being you......I don't want to make this proposal long by telling you how beautiful, strong, intelligent, hardworking you are because nobody should tell you that ....you should know that by yourself."

"Your parent's death wasn't your fourth...life and death aren't in our control Jessica..... So never blame yourself.... you were just a child who needed her parent's love....and your relative is assholes....no offense."

"Non....taken."

He got down on his knees looking at me with all the love in the world that I felt like I was the luckiest wolf in the whole world.

"No am the  Lucky one here."

He read my thought again.

His face turned serious and he said the words I never expected.

"Jessica..... Will you marry me?" my mate asked handing me a beautiful ruby neckless in place of a ring.

We all know what my answer would be.
