I appeared inside an isolation room, it was dark but thanks to my cool Lycan sight I could see clearly like it was daytime.

I heard the sound of someone breathing slow and whimpering in pain.

Then it hit me like a ton of brick the most intoxicating scent ever.

"Mate" almost seems like forever since I mention that word.

I hurriedly ran towards her slowly trying to make my footsteps low as possible.

Her body was seated in a wooden chair angled in an uncomfortable position and her hands were held tightly behind the chair.

I quickly untie her from the chair. she fell forward linings on my body unconsciously.

"How long do you think she been tied like this?" I asked my wolf worriedly.

He whimpers at the sight of our unconscious mate" probably for a long time since she was brought here. hurry you must mark her immediately like what the moon goddess said."

Without wasting more time, I extended my canines to bite her shoulder making her yelp from shock and pain.

She opened her beautiful brown eyes that I have missed so much staring at me dreamily.

"Alex... Is that you?"

"Jessica, "I called back at her.

I was about to reply to her and tell her how much I missed her but a voice was interrupted by the voice of a woman.

I turned around facing the supposed Jezebel not after pushing Jessica possessively behind me away from the sight of this woman.

So this is Jezebel, the two horns on her head gave it away.

"Sorry but not sorry to interrupt your lovely reunion. I knew you will come to me looking for your precious mate playing wolf in shining armor where is your Almighty goddess Selena? She sent her puppet instead of herself. Now am will destroy you and send your body back to her as a message to surrender her throne to me "she laughed at her plans looking at me with bloody red eyes.

"It was almost too easy to kidnap your mate all I had to do was use someone who hated your mate in your pack and she gladly served your mate on a silver platter to me."

"Who could betray us?" I looked back at Jessica for answers.

"A particular she-wolf who want me dead and want you to her self," Jessica replied angrily.

"Abigail," I shouted in surprise, I never knew she could go that far to harm my mate.

"bingo! all I had to do was promise her I will make you fall in love with her with my magic if she gives me your mate in return." She continue laughing as if recalling when she told Jessica.

"That naive girl believed me.....now I will destroy you and the entire werewolf creatures and your goddess will have no choice but to surrender."

"Let see about that!" I said back my voice laced with determination.

She transformed into a huge monster, half of her body from the waist up was a goat with gigantic horns the remaining part was a lion with a long tail roaring in my direction thinking I would rumble in fear then she had another thing coming.

Not like her original form was any better with two horns. I would have laughed at her horrible look if it wasn't a life-and-death situation.

I heard Jessica gape at the sight of Jezebel monstrous from in fear.

"Jessica hides behind the chair, and don't come out, "I told her without waiting for her reply Pushing her in the direction of the chair to hide.

My priority was my mate's safety, knowing she was alright, away from these vicious creatures.

I changed into my 15ft Lycan form, my canines and claws elongated readily to tear Jezebel into shred.

I could see the look of surprise in Jezebel's eyes, she was probably thinking I would be an ordinary wolf.

I growled back at her as I jumped with my paws towards her.

We collided together both of us falling back at the impact of the force.

I stood up but Jezebel was faster slamming me with her massive large horn to the side of my ribs as I slide back to the hit ground, my ribs healed immediately thanks to my lycan genes.

She came again bringing her long lion tail to hit me, I luckily dodge it but I wasn't fast enough, the tail cut the side of my left shoulder as she said a spell and a wall appears behind me smashing me to it.

"What power do you think we have? " I enquire from my wolf.

"I don't know......try opening up your mouth to see if you could breathe out fire like a dragon," he said like a genius who just said the best idea in the world.

"How can you joke in a time like this?....this is a life and death situation, there's no way we can breathe out fire, we are wolves, not a dragon, "I told him pointedly but he insisted.

"We are now lycan no longer wolf so there's a difference.....now try it and see if is gonna work." He commanded trying to take over control to do it himself.

I had no choice but to listen to his stupid idea, I close my eyes concentrating. I visioned myself bringing out large balls of fire from both my mouth and hands throwing them towards Jezebel.

I opened my eyes back and saw Jezebel's whole body was lighted up in flames but she said a spelling word extinguishing it off her body.

"I told you it would work. it's so cool do it again," I rolled my eyes at him blocking him out.

We fought for a long time, her chanting different spells and transforming into different hybrids creatures, on the other hand, found out I was able to control different elements like the avatar.

Until she got tired of fighting me and decided to play dirty by bringing my mate to her side as a shield for her protection using her magic.

"Surrender now......or your precious little mate gets it."

"Leave my mate out of this you coward and fight me ."

But she ignored my words "do you think you can defeat me...I am the most powerful witch ever.....now surrender or else your mate dies."

"Now this is what they call between a rock and a hard place, " My wolf said in my head.

"If we surrender we die, if she still kills Jessica because we didn't surrender we die from the loss of our mate," I said to my wolf.

"I have an idea let us mind like Jessica and tell her to rip the heart of Jezebel since she is already closer to her," My wolf advised.

"Who knew you were this smart Xander," I acknowledge him. He has been bringing out great ideas, first the fireballs now these.

"I got not just the looks but also the brains" he bragged like he was a different person from me.

I concentrated my mind like Jessica with my mind using our local connection.

"Jessica"

"Alex....how can you mind linking me. she can hear my thoughts..." She spoke nervously to me.

"I am using our local connection....she can't break in even if she tries using her magic, the bond is too strong" she nodded her head in understanding but confusion came upon her face.

"What do you mean by our lycan? connection?"

"I will explain everything later but first I need you to rip out Jezebel's heart for me...can you for that honey, "I asked her gently hoping she will say yes.

"What?" she shouted through the bond.

"I said I need you to rip..." I repeated myself.

"I heard you the first time I just thought you were joking.....why me? why don't you do it," she asked, I could feel her fidgeting.

"Love I know you are scared but please trust me and rip out her heart when I blink twice at you," I said to her not waiting for her reply.

I turned my attention back to Jezebel"You are right Jezebel,...you win give up." Jezebel's whole face lit up like a Christmas tree already celebrating her victory.

"Good choice ....."

I looked at Jessica's brown eyes and blink twice giving her a signal. Jezebel didn't see it coming as Jessica brought out her claws ripping her heart out and shouted.

"See you in hell..."Jessica said as she threw Jezebel's heart to the floor, cleaning her bloody hands on her dress.

Jezebel cried in Pain dropping to the ground not expecting it....., I hurriedly extended my hands using my claws to rip off her head from her body.

She landed on the ground like a vegetable as I carried my from the ground mate, bringing her to my arms.

I lifted my head to look at Jezebel as we watched her body turn to dust and disappear into the wind.

I brought my hands to Jessica's hair messaging it in comfort.

She removed my hands from her hair and brought my left hand to kiss it as she loved at me with love.

"Alexander...I'm sorry I fainted when I woke up and realized you were my mate," she paused then continued"you are the best mate she-wolf can ever ask of...thanks to you for coming to rescue me." she said sincerely in a soft voice.

"That my responsibility as a mate, lover, and friend....and don't thank me thank the moon goddess...she did everything."

"The moon goddess?" Her nose scrunched up in confusion... It was really cute making her look like a brown cute bunny.

"Yes....don't worry I will explain later. Why don't we talk about everything between us that we need to know about each other on a date what do you say, my love?"

"I say yes......I love you so much, Alexander."

"I heart you, Jessica."I brought my head to kiss her mouth but she turned her face sideways and the kiss landed on her cheeks ruining the moment.

"Why don't you let me kiss you like how the hero kisses the heroine when he saves her from the bad guys? "

"Because I don't know how long it has been tied up to that chair and my mouth sinks. "

"Well, I don't care... I love you either way. "

"When did you become this Chessy chess? "She asked raising her eyebrows at me.

"When I fell in love with you."

We both laugh as our wolf purred in content.
