Chapter 56: Chapter 56
DRESDEN'S POV
I heard the doorbell ring and groaned at the thought of going to open it. I already knew who was there.
Alessandro, my brother. I'd filled him in on what had been happening and he had promised to show up this
morning. I looked at my bruised knuckles, sighed, and walked to the door.
The moment I pulled the door open, Alessandro walked in with an evident frown. "Where the fuck is that
bastard?" He asked with his thick Italian accent.
I sighed and shut the door, walking to the mini bar in the sitting room. "The punk ass isn't here 'Sandro. We'll
deal with him later on. How was your flight?"
He rolled his suitcase and stopped near the couch, lazily falling on it. "Get me some alcohol, man. I need to cool
off. I swear I planned out a whole murder scene in my mind during my flight. Leo should thank his stars that he's
not here right now."
I ran my fingers through my hair. Alessandro and I were close from the beginning. True we don't get along
sometimes, but we always got each other's back. My dad wasn't around while I grew up and when he was,
he was a complete monster. And as for my mom, dad killed her cause she cheated on him when I was four. So I
spent most of the time with my brother. He was the first person who taught me how to use a gun and knife to
inflict pain on people at the tender age of nine. I walked back to him, handing him a glass of whiskey.
He nodded in appreciation and took a sip. "Fuck! I haven't had a drink in like ten hours."
That's not strange for him. "It's not too long dude," I told him as I sat on one of the sofas. I was
drained. Both mentally and physically. And honestly, emotionally. I just couldn't stop worrying about Avatia. The
poor girl was in serious trouble because of me.
He sat up and faced me seriously. "Are ya fucking kidding me? It's like an eternity. Almost like spending a day
without a good fuck."
Again, not strange. "Aren't you tired of fucking a new woman every day, son?"
He shook his head. "Nope. And I never will. Do you think I'm like you who sticks with Jade? Oh....before I forget,
the new girl too...what's her name? Andrea? Amandla?"
My eyes immediately darkened. All this while, I'd been trying to act cool, hoping it's going to ease the heartache
I've been feeling recently. I've been trying to act like everything is okay but in reality, I was dying inside. And
now Alessandro just had to bring it up. I quietly stood up. "I'd be in my room."
I walked to the staircase but stopped when Alessandro spoke up.
"You have to fucking stop being a douchebag. You can't possibly be sulking because of a girl. Man up bro. If you
want her, then get her. Besides, it's not the first time this is happening. You'd eventually get over it." He said
nonchalantly.
I fisted my palm as a lot of anger coursed through my veins. I fought the urge to go back and punch him. I
ignored my anger and just walked upstairs.
The moment I got into my room, I fell face down on the bed. A sudden but heavyweight of loneliness washed
over me. The loneliness was worse than when I'd lost Nevaeh. Grace words kept ringing in my mind. Leo's unfair
revenge kept punching me in the face. Nevaeh's pretty face kept flashing in my memory. And worst of all, I could
still feel Avatia's cold and naked body in my arms as I rushed her to the hospital. The pain was just too much.
Almost unbearable. Before I could stop myself, I started throwing all the breakable objects in my room. All the
chinaware and pieces of art cost me a fortune. But I didn't care. My mind just couldn't process anything at the
moment and my heart just couldn't take in all the tragedy. I was suffering from a crime I didn't commit!
Leo.
Leo.
Leo.
I swear he's going to regret ever knowing me. I'm gonna skin him alive.
With that thought in my mind, I walked into the bathroom, being careful not to step on the broken pieces of glass,
freshened up, and went to Alessandro's room. He had just stepped out of the shower as well. "I'm about to head to
the warehouse. Leo's rested enough."
He smirked. "Finally. Time to put up my murder scenarios into action. I'll be down in a bit."
I nodded and was about to go.
"And Dreidan, about what I said earlier, I mean it. If you want the girl, then go get her. And it's not up for a
debate, I'd help you get her back." He said calmly.
I looked at him for a while. "I'd appreciate that. But that's if she survives."
He smirked again. "Oh trust me, she will."

WRITER'S POV
Poor Grace sat down on a chair close to her daughter's hospital bed. She was holding Avatia's cold hands as she
sobbed. Her daughter was still in a comatose state and she just didn't know what to think anymore. Avatia was the only thing that kept her going about each day. After the death of her dear husband, Ishmael, she'd promised to
stick by her daughter till the end. The heavens knew she would not be able to handle it if anything happened to her
baby girl.
It had only been a day, but her extended family had so far been supportive. They all took turns in coming to show
some love. The door opened up and Kendal walked in.
"Aunt Grace." The young man said as he walked over to her and hugged her. She burst out crying. "Hush aunty,
everything is going to be okay. Avatia is a strong girl. She'll get through it. I know she will."
But Grace just couldn't stop crying. "Kenny, my little girl is dying. Look at her. She's suffering. If only I could,
I'll rather I will be the one who got frozen, not her."
Kenny wiped the tears that had rolled down his cheeks. "I would if I could too. Avatia is so kind for someone to
treat her this way. I'm so sorry aunt Grace. I tried to stop her."
Grace pulled away and wiped her tears. "What are you talking about, Kendal?"
Kendal bowed his head in shame. "Aunt Grace, I'm so sorry. I knew about all this. I knew she was going to see
Mr. Vaughn. I even helped her bake him a cake. It's all my fault and I'm so sorry. I should have told you. But I
never did. I had no idea she was going to get into trouble."
Grace placed her palms on her chest to ease the pain she was feeling. "Why did you not tell me, Kendal. Why? Is
Is there any other thing I need to know?"
In as much as Kendal didn't want to be the one to tell his aunty about how all this started, he still did. He shook
his head.
Grace couldn't believe it. "How could you guys not let me in on all this. Tell me everything I need to know.
Everything."
Kendal wiped his tears and sat on the other chair in the room. "I think you need to sit down too, aunty. It's a long
and complicated story."

DRESDEN'S POV
Immediately I pulled up in front of the warehouse, Alessandro walked out. For those who never knew
Alessandro, he was just a filthy rich fuck boy. But for people in the mafia world, he was the demon himself.
Alessandro was evil. No one would wish to step on his toes. He was three times wilder than me. I was glad he was
here because I was too drained to do anything to Leo. And now that my brother was here, all I had to do was sit
down and watch him mess Leo's ass.
Another car pulled up in front of the warehouse. It was Roberto. I got out of my car.
"Right on time buddy," Alessandro told him and we all walked into the house.
My men nodded as we walked past them. The moment we entered the room, I saw Leo visibly gulp as he noticed
Alessandro's presence. Good thing he was awake already. As expected, one of my men brought me a chair and
water-pipe tobacco. I sat down, put it in my mouth, and pulled on it, enjoying the sweet feeling. Let the show
begin.
Alessandro walked over to Leo. "Leo my man, wassup?" He asked, excitedly rubbing his palms together.
Leo was trying to keep a straight face but kept on failing miserably. Such a coward.
Roberto stepped behind to watch the show too.
"You do not want to talk to me? Huh? Why?"
Alessandro still did not get a reply.
"You know, my worst thing is to get ignored. I hate it." Alessandro fumed as he pulled out his punching rings and
slid them onto his fingers. "But I'll forgive you this time. By the way, son, I heard about what you did. The nerve
of you. What's worse is that I liked Nevaeh for my brother but you fucked up." He said as his fist flew
straight into Leo's face, causing him to spit out blood.
"And the new girl? Did you freeze a girl? My brother's girl? The hell!" He ended, landing another unearthly
punch on Leo's stomach. And again, Leo coughed and spat out blood.
Alessandro paced around the room and stopped before me. "Got a dagger buddy?"
I nodded and pulled out one.
He smirked. "It's about time I skin his ass alive. He's had his beauty rest on this earth for a long time.
And when I'm done, we're going for the other ass hole, what's his name again?"
"André. André Dubois."
He turned back to Leo who kept shaking violently. "Please Alessandro, don't do it."
Alessandro feigned sadness. "You called me by my name. Not boss, not master, not lord. Alessandro! I
planned on letting you go, but you just made me angry Leo. Say hi to the devil for me. Oh wait, I am the devil. So
just fuck off and go to hell already."
Leo screamed and screamed and I just watched in amusement as Alessandro took his time to peel off Leo's skin.
______________________________
I didn't want to continue writing that murder scene, I'm scared I might puke. I'll leave the skinning alive
to your imagination.
So what do you think about this chapter? Leo's out of the picture, next up, André.
And oh my God, Alessandro is finally here. I'd been dying to introduce him. I already love his charisma.
