Chapter 14: Chapter 14

So this is Monday's update. Wait for it. I'm even thinking of giving a double update.

BTW, this chapter is dedicated to my one and only Maggie. She's the sweetest person to talk to. And before I forget, I'm writing a new book,~ SEDUCING MR. PERFECT.~ it's not in my account though, dm for more information. I'm sorry, it's not edited.

Okay, I have no idea why I accepted to go out with Mr. Black but deep down, I wasn't regretting it. I now knew he was a dangerous man but I found it intriguing working for him. He did not seem like the type to physically hurt people. He looked like the perfect gentleman.

I was not going to let Draya or Kenny know about Mr. Black's request, worst still, my acceptance. I'd just keep everything a secret. The problem now is mom. What would I tell her? I'm already tired of lying. She didn't deserve this.

"All done. We just have to wait for 30 minutes and our cake would be baked." Mom said excitedly.

I smiled at her.

My phone beeped to signal I had a new message. I opened it.

~Meet me at Adams in 45 minutes.

DMV~

Oh my God, not Adams, Draya would be there. I have to think of something fast. I start typing.

~Oh no, Mr. Black, could we meet up somewhere else? AKH~

It didn't stay for up to 5 seconds when I got a new message.

~Thats alright. I'd send Cheng to pick you up and bring you to 'RECO', that's if you're okay with it

DMV~

RECO??? Isn't that the new expensive Italian restaurant that's been all over the news? Before I was able to finish typing a reply, my phone beeped again.

~Don't protest sweetheart, Cheng would be there in 45 minutes. DMV~

Okay. It's time to act fast. "Umm... Mom?" "Yes, sweetie?"

I scratched my forehead and looked at her nervously. "Can I go out? Like now?"

She took off her oven gloves. "Sweetie you're all grown up now. You're free to go out whenever you want to. I'm just really happy you always ask for my permission."

Oh mom, wasn't she the best. I walked over to her and kissed her. "I love you, mom."

She beamed at me. "I love you too sweetie. Now hurry up before you're late for whatever."

I rushed to my room and had the quickest shower ever. I then had to think of the perfect outfit. If I was going out with my boss who just happens to be extremely hot, I just have to look my best. I decided to go in for a short black gown. It wasn't the best but it was pretty good. I then held my tied my hair in a messy bun and wore my red 4-inch stiletto. I did light but classic make-up.

I looked at the time and realized I was ten minutes late. Cheng must be pissed. I hurriedly stuffed some money and lip gloss in my clutch. Was I overdressed or underdressed? Okay, this wasn't the time to be thinking of such. I went downstairs to get Mom's approval.

"You look, gorgeous baby." She said while sipping her orange juice. "Are you going out with Leo?"

I almost choked on my spit. I didn't see that coming. "No mom. How can you even say that? You know what, I'm running late. Bye, mom."

And with that, I rushed out to see Cheng standing by a gray-colored Bugatti. Man does Mr. Black have a good taste in cars. "I'm so sorry I kept you waiting, Cheng," I said as I got into the car and he shut the door.

He smiled at me. "It's nothing, Miss Hilton. I think you should save your apology for the boss."

He drove up and I was a nervous wreck throughout the quiet ride. Once we got to RECO, I was speechless. It was so big and nice. Only expensive cars were packed outside. I looked down at my dress. I wasn't fit for this kind of place. This was not my class. And to think the money I came along with was not going to be enough to pay for water here. I better go back. As I turned to look at Cheng, he smiled down at me.

"Don't think that way, Miss, just go on in. Mr. Vaughn is waiting for you in private room 3. Just show this card at the door." He said as he handed me a gold card. It just felt expensive in my palm.

"Thank you, Cheng," I said with a nervous smile and walked in. I showed the card to the guy at the door and he led me to an elevator. When we reached the third floor, I discovered there were only 4 rooms there. The hallway was really big. We walked over to the last door on the left and the guy opened the door.

"Have a splendid day ma'am." He said and walked down.

I gulped down my saliva and took a step in. The room was so beautiful, I felt inferior.

"You kept me waiting, princess. But it's okay." I heard Mr. Black say.

I looked over to the left and he was standing by a floor-length window dressed in a well-ironed black tux. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay. Come, sit down, let's have lunch." He said calmly, his Russian accent worth drooling for.

I smiled up at him as I took a seat. "Thank you." The aroma that hit my nose was so delicious and my stomach just had to talk. Way to disgrace me. "Sorry."

My jaws dropped as he burst into a fit of laughter. It was the most interesting thing to look at. "Don't be. Come on, eat."

I said my grace silently before I dug in. The meal which believes me, I do not know the name, was delicious. I let out a moan once or twice as the food hit my taste bud.

"Can see you enjoy the meal." He said making me blush

stupidly.

"It's so delicious. Thank you." I said and waited for him to respond with the usual, 'you're welcome' but he didn't.

He suddenly looked sad. "Hey! What's the problem? I'm sorry if I said something to offend you."

"That's the problem. You're so damn polite. Giving out a 'sorry' and 'thank you all the time."

I looked confused. "Huh? What's wrong with it?"

He ran his long fingers through his perfectly combed hair. "I only started hearing those words when you walked into my life. To be honest, the fucken people in my life don't say that. That's why I'm wondering why it's so easy for you." He said making me gasp. No wonder why he found it difficult to apologize to me and when he didn't reply to my 'thank you.

I placed my palm over the back of his hands. "It's not difficult to say it. Those are magic words. You should learn how to say it and watch how much easier things would be."

He looked at our hands then looked at my eyes. "Do you know why I invited you here?"

I shook my head.

"Well, you've been working for me for over three weeks and never for once asked for your payment at the end of the week. I figured you won't be asking anytime soon so I took the initiative to bring the money to you. Here you go." He said it with so much ease as to be handed me a white envelope.

"Thank you," I said as I took the envelope from him and slipped it in my clutch. He looked at me keenly. "So you won't open it?"

I shook my head. "I will. Just not here."

He shrugged. "Have it your way. I also have something for you, but I'm sure you'll also want to open it when you open the envelope." I blushed harder since he used my words against me.

He took out a blue box from his inner pocket and handed it to me with a smug smile on his plump lips.

I looked at him curiously as I took the box. "Thank you so much, sir."

My blush didn't leave my face the entire lunchtime and it got worse the next time he spoke.

"You look ravishing, princess. I'd love to stay longer but I have somewhere important to go to." He said checking me out while standing up. I stood up too. I couldn't help but blush harder under his intense stare.

"Lunch was great. Thanks a lot."

We shared small talk as we got to the elevator down to the lobby. Cheng was standing by the Bugatti and Mr. Black walked over to another sports car. I got into the car and Cheng drove off to my apartment. Mom was asleep when I arrived so I went straight to my room.

I jumped on my bed and the smile on my lips didn't leave for a second. Oh, the envelope. I took it out and opened it. There was a check inside so I took it out and I almost fainted at the amount of money that was written on it.

$300,000.

For three weeks.

My eyes went wide.

I'm doing my happy dance, I updated and thinking of giving another update by nightfall.

So tell me, how was it?

And who could guess that much?

Oh, and the blue box, what could be inside??

If I can get then votes and comments on this chapter in 3 hours, be sure of another update.
