Chapter 37: Chapter 37
Sophie's POV ~
"What do you mean?"
"He's started sending threats to Matteo and Angelo directed at you, he also knows your phone number." Thiago was speaking in a soft tone obviously trying not to upset me but it didn't work. "So that's why you took my phone?"
"Partly, I still don't trust you though." I frowned at him unable to hide the obvious hurt on my face, it's so nice to know your husband doesn't trust you. "You don't?" Thiago took my hand and kissed my palm. "I don't want to take any chances Sophie, I know what you're like and I can't risk you letting anything slip to your family. You know I trust you with everything else." I chose to ignore what he said and ask the other question that was on my mind since this is probably the only time he would tell me the truth.
"Is that why you slapped me then? Because you were angry about Dante?" Regret flashed through his eyes and he looked away while he nodded. "I'm sorry Sophie." I placed my hands on his chest to push him away from me but he didn't move. "Thiago"
"I told you not to get upset." My eyes met his and I glared at him. "I'm not going to be happy about this am I?"
"Look, I've got more guards outside and there is no way he'll find this house, I promise you that. But I can't risk you going out, it's too dangerous for now. Please just listen to me, I'm only doing it because I love you. I don't know what I would do if you got hurt because of me."
He leaned down pressing his lips to mine, at first I didn't respond but I couldn't help it, he's just too good of a kisser for me to pass up the opportunity. I ran my hands over his chest and wrapped them around his waist pulling him even closer to me as we kissed. He let out a groan when I bit his lower lip, his eyes darkening considerably. "Don't push me Sophie."I smiled into the kiss and slipped my tongue into his mouth, we continued to fight for dominance until Thiago eventually won, as usual. We broke away from each other to breathe and Thiago gave me a small smile. "You're so beautiful." I rolled my eyes and pecked his lips one more time before pushing him away.
"I look disgusting Thiago." It was true, a complete lack of sleep always leaves me looking like a mess the next morning. It takes a long time to calm down the hair and the dark circles under my eyes. I hopped off the table and walked past him feeling his eyes on me as I made my way upstairs with Thiago following closely behind me. "Your ass is so fucking perfect." I bit lip noting the lust in his voice as he walked behind me. "Calm down Thiago, I'm going to check on Leo, we're not going to our room." I heard him mumble something to himself as we passed our room and went inside the nursery where Matteo was on the floor playing with Leo.
I dropped down next to Matteo and smiled at Leo who was lying on his tummy staring up at Thiago and I who just entered the room. "Hey baby, what you doing?" I tickled his chin causing him to let out a small squeal. I heard Thiago chuckle as he sat next to me. "He's in a better mood than yesterday, probably because he's finally getting over the stabbing you put him through." I turned to Thiago and rolled my eyes, he's clearly never going to get over that - or understand it was necessary. "Shut up." He just chuckled in response and turned back to Leo who was trying to get our attention back by babbling in his baby talk.
I stroked his head and leaned down kissing his forehead causing him to open his mouth. I tickled his chin again and made a cooing sound to him causing him to give me a small smile - his first one. I couldn't stop the huge smile that made its way onto my face at the sight of my baby boy smiling for the first time. "I knew you could do it!" I picked him up holding him infront of me as I placed random kisses all over his face causing him to squeal. I think he started to realise we loved his smile because he kept trying to do it again and again.
"Bro we need to go." I turned towards Matteo who stood to his feet prompting Thiago to do the same. Leo frowned when his uncle and his dad both stood up so that he couldn't see them anymore. I kissed his forehead and stood up too so that he wouldn't start crying - he's become so attached to both of them, if they disappear out of his view like they just did, he throws a tantrum.
"Yeah, I'll see you later Sophie." Thiago kissed my forehead before doing the same to Leo. I nodded and passed Leo to Matteo so he could say goodbye to his nephew. "Thiago.." I wasn't sure of what to say to him, I didn't really know where we stood, we made up but we both said a lot which couldn't be taken back.
"I love you." He pecked my lips and wrapped his arms around me into a hug. "Ask Carlotta if she'll have Leo later and I'll take you out." I gave him a small smile and kissed his cheek after pulling out of his arms. "I don't have a phone remember." I sent him a pointed look causing him to chuckle. "There's always the house phone."

Thankfully, Carlotta was able to take Leo off our hands for a few hours. We hadn't seen her much since we moved back to Milan, only because she was busy with her modelling career, but I tried to speak to her regularly so that she knew what was going on with Leo, she loved him just as much as Matteo did.
I was busy getting ready when I heard the front door slam indicating that Thiago was back from dropping Leo to Carlotta. I was no where near ready to go. "Sophie."
I glanced at Thiago in the mirror and sent him a sheepish smile. "Sorry, I fell asleep after you left. Can I have ten more minutes please?" He rose an eyebrow at me and sighed before sitting down on the bed near to where I was sitting at the dressing table.
"You're honestly so irritating. Why do you even need all that shit? Actually never mind, just finish so we can go." I held in my laughter at Thiago's annoyed expression - he's never been very patient. I finally finished doing my make up and straightening my hair and picked out a green military blazer style dress pairing it with nude heels.
I was busy admiring my appearance in the mirror when I felt Thiago come up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist and resting his chin on my shoulder. I made eye contact with him in the mirror and rose an eyebrow at him.
"I don't think you understand that reservations don't wait for you, you're meant to get there on time. It's okay though babe, just carry on staring at yourself in the mirror." I rolled my eyes at his sarcasm and tried to remove his hands from my waist but he just tightened his grip, pressing himself harder up against me. "You look beautiful baby, but you need to change." I frowned and turned around to face him ready to give him a piece of my mind but he spoke before I could. "You're showing too much skin. And look how much cleavage you're showing, this is all mine Sophie." His eyes considerably darkened as they roamed over my body before he looked back into my eyes.
"That's cute and everything but I'm not changing. It's not even that bad, would you rather I dressed like a nun?" His eyes lit up at the last part and he gave me a cheeky grin while pulling me closer to him. "You've had that idea too?" I couldn't hold back the smile that made its way onto my face while I shook my head. "You're such an idiot." I leaned up and pecked his lips before grabbing his hand. "Let's go."
<<<<<<< >>>>>>> <<<<<<<
I gripped Thiago's hand, tracing my finger over the tattoo on his wrist as we made our way into the restaurant. "Reservation for De Mancuso."
"Sir your reservation was for half an hour ago." I tightened my grip on Thiago's hand when I felt him tense; he doesn't like people talking back to him. "So?" Thiago opened his suit jacket a little
flashing the black gun tucked inside his pants; the coldness of his tone sent chills down my spine even though it wasn't directed at me - for once. The young waiter's face paled and he quickly picked up some menus while he motioned for us to follow him.
He guided us to a table at the back of the restaurant, it was a secluded area next to a window over looking the city. "I-Is this okay?" I sent him a kind smile and nodded. "It's perfect, thank you." He let out a shaky breath of relief and placed the menus down before pulling out a chair for me. "I've got it." Thiago nudged him out the way and motioned to me to sit down. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at his immature side and sat down allowing him to tuck the chair in before sitting opposite me.
I watched the poor waiter leave as fast as he could however his place by the front door far away from Thiago still didn't seem far enough since he kept glancing over at us with his pale face. "You scared the hell out of him Thiago! He doesn't even seem older than 18, what's wrong with you?" Thiago didn't look at me and kept his eyes on the menu instead as he defended his actions.
"He shouldn't have been so rude to me, it's not like it's my fault we were late." I rolled my eyes since Thiago couldn't see me, but he knew, he knows everything. "Don't roll your eyes unless you want me to punish you when we get home."
The way he uttered the word 'punish' told me exactly what he was planning in his head. A small smirk appeared on his face while he casually read over the menu; he already knew there was a raging blush on my cheeks. I awkwardly cleared my throat and opened the menu causing him to chuckle quietly to himself. A few minutes later a tall skinny blonde waitress approached our table. Her eyes landed on Thiago and she sent him a smile while leaning forward no doubt to show off her never ending cleavage.
"Are you ready to order?" She kept her full attention on my husband who seemed to be lost in his own world while reading something on his phone which he took out while I was still deciding. "I'll have the salmon please." She turned towards me with a sneer on her ugly face. "Don't forget the potatoes, I'll have extra black pepper too." I sent her a sickly sweet smile and shoved the menu at her.
Thiago still hadn't looked up from his phone when she turned back to him so she placed her sharp manicured claws on his shoulder to get his attention. Thiago tensed at the contact and looked up at her before glancing over at me. "Uh.." He awkwardly cleared his throat as she ran her hand down his arm. "I'll have a medium steak with potatoes, and your best bottle of red wine."
"Of course, anything for you." I rose an eyebrow at her when she muttered to herself, but I chose not say anything, Thiago would just accuse me of being jealous. She quickly left to go and place our order, not before sending Thiago another flirty glance.
"What's so important on your phone that you didn't notice blondie next to you?" Thiago's eyes held amusement at the irritation in my voice - he stared at me before leaning back in his chair shrugging in response to my question. "Nothing." I rolled my eyes at him knowing it would annoy him. It had the desired affect since the amusement disappeared instantly being replaced by a glare just as blondie returned. "Here you go." She placed two glasses down and poured the wine, all while staring at my husband who, this time, was staring right back at her clearly trying to get a rise out of me. He sent her a smile showing off his perfect white teeth and took his glass, making sure to brush his hand against hers. "Thank you."
They exchanged a few more glances before she finally strolled away happily completely ignoring me. Thiago turned back towards me and I swear, if looks could kill, he would be at least 30 feet under, 6 feet isn't deep enough for the anger I was feeling.
"You're fucking lucky I'm hungry Thiago, otherwise you would be sitting here alone. No actually, you'd probably be sitting with blondie, I bet that would make you happy, wouldn't it? Stupid, arrogant Italian. Who the hell do you even think yo-" Before I could get the words out Thiago stood up from his seat, grabbing my hand, he pulled me up out of my chair and against him. He slammed his lips against mine effectively shutting me up completely. Seconds later he let go and sat back down with a smirk on his lips, leaving me standing there like a hot mess. It took me a second to get over the kiss and sit back avoiding Thiago's eye as he stared at me. "You're so fucking predictable tesoro. And why didn't you just say something to her?"
"Don't you fucking worry I will." My eyes landed on the stupid blonde coming back towards us holding our food. "Give me your gun Thiago." I kept my eyes on her while Thiago burst out laughing. "I'm not giving you my gun Sophie."
"So you're allowed to threaten people with your gun and I'm not?" I turned towards him as he watched me clearly amused by my anger. Blondie placed our food infront of us and smiled at Thiago who just turned to me and raised an eyebrow as if asking me what I was going to do next. This just pushed me even further, I don't know why everyone was trying so fucking hard to get on my nerves today.
"Do you not see the wedding ring on his finger?" Blondie finally turned towards me giving me a dirty look. "He's married, to me. So I suggest you leave before I rip those extensions out your hair and strangle you with them. I'm tired of watching you flirt with my husband, you've got nothing that I can't give him - " I glanced over her body chuckling for emphasis causing her to glare at me. " - so just take your fake ass away before I really give you something to glare about." She quickly turned around and walked away but not before sending me another glare. I let out a frustrated sigh and picked up my knife and fork. I glanced up at Thiago who was staring at me with an unknown expression on his face. "What?"
He just shook his head and picked up his own cutlery. "Hurry up and eat, there's something I need to do at home." It took me a moment to understand what he was talking about, but as soon as I did I was eating faster than I ever have before. Thiago chuckled when I dropped my knife and fork down, he finished way before me because my fastest is still pretty slow. Being a super slow eater is something I was blessed with as a child, blame my parents.
Thiago called a waiter to bring us the cheque but eventually he just decided to throw a wad of cash on the table since they were taking too long. He grabbed my hand and I followed behind him struggling slightly to keep up with his long strides.
"Thiago slow down, I'm wearing heels." He let out a groan as we walked out the restaurant and stopped so that I could take a small break. "Relax, you've waited over two months for this, you can wait a few more minutes." We walked side by side to the car but Thiago didn't seem like he was enjoying the slow walk.
"After seeing you looking so fucking sexy in there, I can't wait any longer." I giggled and pulled his hand up to my lips kissing the back of it. Once we got to the car it took just under twenty minutes to get home, the whole time Thiago kept glancing over at me with the same look he had in the restaurant. And well the second we got through the door...let me just say it, it was good.
<<<<<<< >>>>>>> <<<<<<<
He collapsed on the bed next to me and I turned my head towards him just as he placed a kiss on my shoulder.
"I love you." I smiled and turned towards him placing my hand on his cheek. "I love you too." Thiago pecked my lips before he let out a tired groan and rolled on to his back stretching his arms out. "That was so worth the fucking wait."
