Chapter 24: Chapter 24

Jaden's POV

"You saw her?" That was the first question from Carl through mind link the moment I walked back into the palace, but I couldn't reply to him, so he wouldn't notice how my heart was racing.

"Are you done using the restroom?" The Alpha smiled at me, but I could only shrug.

"I am leaving." That was all I bluntly said in reply before turning and leaving just the way I had walked in. Carl left his chair, bowed to the Alpha, and followed me behind.

"Won't you wait a little longer for my daughter to return and escort you both out?" I heard what the Alpha suggested to Carl, and it forced out a deep grunt of anger inside me.

"Carl, if you dare agree to that, you are a goner!" Without looking back, I issued a warning via mind link.

"We are sorry, not today. The prince is eager to leave." Carl responded to him and scurried off, running to catch up with me.

Just as I got to the porch ready to leave, Carl asked his first question again, and I had to take several deep breaths before I could answer.

"I saw her. I saw that pretty girl with exquisite brunette hair and a nice body." My response came without my brain thinking about what I was saying.

"Wow, did you just say all this?" Carl exclaimed in shock and my lips curled into a smile, which was absolutely a reflex action as I couldn't tell I was smiling till Carl said it.

My heart was void of anger at that moment just because I was thinking of her and what her smell did to my body.

"Carl, thanks for that idea of using the restroom, which you tipped me. It just made me see her." I shrugged and was about to enter the car when someone screamed my name, running over.

I turned and hissed, seeing it was Nana.

"You are leaving without a goodbye..." Her whining voice came in as she finally got close to me. She was giving me some kind of seductive stare that was really pissing me off.

"It isn't a must, and maybe I could have said it to you if you kept your butt in the palace. Why did you leave the palace? Were you looking for me?" I sneered, feeling the rush of anger again.

If she hadn't headed up to that room, I would have gotten the opportunity to see Ava's face, hear her voice, and even touch her. She just came and ruined everything in the blink of an eye. Seeing her stand in front of me now made me feel that urge to choke her to death.

"No, I also went to the restroom. You know, ladies take more time in there than men, because we are washing a lot of holes." She winked and let out a short laugh, making me wonder what was funny about the rubbish she said.

"Then why are you here?" I asked sharply, wishing I had come with guards. I'd use Mind-Link to order them to drag her away from me while pretending I didn't know anything.

"You seem to hate me so much. What did I do wrong? Didn't you enjoy my meal? I can do anything for you." She stuttered, looking down at the ground shyly.

"I need nothing. Now can you let me go?" I snapped.

"What about Ava?" She asked, and my body shuddered a bit, forcing me to look up at her sharply. I was sure my eyes must be glistening now as I pondered on what she just asked.

She just got it right. I needed Ava somehow, and it seemed she knew it too.

"Don't fall for her trap!" Carl tipped in at me through the mind link.

"I knew Ava when the Alpha talked about her on his visit to my kingdom. The wolfsbane and silver mixture were for her because of the deaths caused by her birth. How will I want someone like that? Are you playing with me?" I growled, clenching my fist.

I could see her sigh in relief.

"I am sorry, I was just joking... Ava is the dirtiest and most disgusting girl in this pack. I was just teasing you by asking if you wanted her, knowing no one would want a pig like her, even as a slave." She scorned Ava, and I shrugged, turning over to my car.

It was becoming more and more annoying to stand and talk with this foolish girl who thought the world was under her feet.

"Carl, let's get out of here." I ordered, opening the car, but she went ahead and grabbed my hand, which was what I deeply hated.

Before I could hold myself back, my heavy palm had already lashed both of her cheeks, almost at the same time. She lost balance and fell, bursting into a loud cry, but I wasn't moved at all.

"Never touch me." I warned and entered the car, slamming the door in anger while Carl drove off. He swerved, and we were almost out of the gate when I darted my gaze back through the rear glass, looking at where Nana was, only to see Ava helping her up from the ground.

The sight of Ava made all anger vanish from me instantly, and I really felt like telling Carl to stop the car.

Gosh, why did she come out after I was gone?
